Batista advertised for upcoming house shows

UPDATED: PWInsider reports that they have confirmed with sources inside the company that Batista will be returning. One source believes Batista was coming back as a surprise entrant at the Royal Rumble, which the ads have now spoiled.

The site says that Batista had been talking about a return as far back as last spring but was unable to do anything because of his acting career, including Riddick and Guardians of the Galaxy. He has been wanting to come back for a final run in the company. One source believes he will be working with WWE until he is needed for promotional work for Guardians of the Galaxy.


ORIGINAL: Batista appears to be returning to WWE for WrestleMania 30. Radio advertising for the February 16th house show in Las Vegas, Nevada is advertising him as being booked. The Wrestling Observer reports that he will be returning for the full WrestleMania season.

It's worth noting that Batista's new film, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, opens on August 1st which will give his appearances through WrestleMania a good chance for the film to get some early marketing to WWE fans

I agree. If you bring Batista back as a heel, with Creative gearing up for a possible Ryback v Goldberg match which has been speculated about, then Batista as a heel would not work. No, they will have Batista go face and possibly feud with Ryback up until Feb. From there they should have already cemented or dropped the Goldberg v Ryback match for WM, imo

All advertisements featured former WWE World champion Batista were quietly removed from the website of the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas for the company's 2/16/14 house show.

Several readers sent word that at one point, the Twitter account for The Phoenix Sun's Vice President of Digital, Jeramie McPeek, featured an announcement that Batista would be appearing at the 2/15/14 event in Phoenix, Arizona as well. That Tweet has apparently been deleted as well.

Suffice to say, WWE wasn't thrilled that leaked out.

Got my tickets, I'll be going to that Vegas show in February. Can't fucking wait. I assume they just pulled him from advertising and not the actual show. There would be a riot if they did.

lol yea there would be. As far as I can see, from what's being reported, they just pulled him from advertising. I don't think they removed him from the card. But again, one wonders when his return will be and I for one think its the Royal Rumble, be it the actual Rumble, or the WWE title match since him and Randy Orton left on bad blood kayfabe wise
