Iron Man 3 possibly setting up.....? [SPOILERS]

- According to screenrant.com, it appears as if Iron Man 3 will be used to set up an Ant-Man movie. In Iron Man 3, Andy Lau was cast to play a character described as a "good guy" scientist. That character will be a version of Chen Lu aka radioactive Man. Here is some more background on the character…

In Marvel Comics, Chen Lu is a nuclear physicist for the People's Republic of China and a villain of Iron Man who works for The Mandarin. His abilities from exposure to radiation give him green-colored skin and the abilities to control radiation in various ways.

In the comics, Henry Pym (Ant-Man) fought Radioactive Man, defeating Lu and having him deported to China, but years later, when Lu had dropped his villainous roots to work with other superheroes, he and Pym worked together during the Marvel Civil War

Many figure that Iron Man 3 will be used to introduce Ant-Man in a post credit scene, which is likely what Edgar Wright meant when he stated that he hopes to be shooting something for Ant-Man this year.

At this time, this is not confirmed, and should be looked at as a rumor.

Wright's been trying to get this off the ground for ages, not very knowledgeable on Ant-Man but very interested in this.

The Mandarin is the only thing I saw in this entire article. Make it happen Marvel. That's all I want in an Iron Man movie.

Ant-Man? Sounds good to me! I know there are a lot of fans out there that really want one!

I don't think ant man is a big enough character to make a movie out of

Well he's also Giant Man, which is a pretty "big" character.

Also, to be fair, not many people felt Iron Man was a big enough character to make a movie out of, and that obviously worked out well considering we're discussing the third film in that series.

What? Iron man is a legend.

He is now, thanks to the movie, but let's face facts here, nobody would put him on the top tier of comic book characters prior to it. That would be reserved for the Batman's, Superman's and Spiderman's.

Yeah but people know who he is offhand. No one knows who Giant/Ant man is offhand. And even less people know who Hank Pym is.

Well I know who he is offhand, so you can't broadly generalize the entire population. Besides, comic book movies are made for comic book nerds first and foremost, and most of them know who Pym is. Not to mention the character played a prominent part in the two Ultimate Avengers animated films as well.

Do you think anyone remembers the Avengers animated films? Because they weren't that good. And was he in The Avengers movie? No

I remember them, and I'm sure a lot of other people do as well. Also, if you read the article in the OP, it explained how they were going to introduce the character, so who gives a crap if he wasn't in the Avengers movie?

You're really grasping at straws here, as usual.

If they wanted to give the character a push, he should have been in the avengers movie. According to you, Iron Man isn't a top tier comic book star so why introduce Pym in iron man 3

I said he wasn't a top tier character BEFORE the first Iron Man movie.
