I think the only time they acknowledge Tribute of the Troops being an old taped show was with DX (big surprise, those two breaking kayfabe)

as someone said the reason they don't usually mention injuries, is because if it didn't happen on tv or at least never was really noticeable on tv (unlike Candice Michelle's tumble off the top ropes) coming back and saying so and so is back after they twisted there ankle in there last match 6 months ago is anti climatic. From a fan not in the know it sounds like, so there clumsy. They make stuff up like Depressions and what not to create new story lines and intrest. And likewise makes it more suprising when they do show up and attack someone other then the person who may have injured them.
As for the tribute to the troops thing, they don't usually mention anything about it until after its taped then the pictures from all the tours of the hospitals and bases go up after they get back. the reason being is for security reasons.

This is exactly why you don't call anything from LoP as "news" unless it was another of their deliberately plagiarized stories from the Observer or Torch.
