RVD has the WWE Championship and the new ECW Title.

RVD_2Belts_2.jpg

On the May 22 episode of RAW, Van Dam informed WWE Champion John Cena that he would be cashing in his Money in the Bank contract at ECW One Night Stand on June 11 for a WWE Championship match, Rob Van Dam had won the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WrestleMania which had a future shot for him. Rob Van Dam competing for the ECW brand. On May 29, Van Dam was selected by Paul Heyman to be drafted from RAW to WWE's new ECW brand. Upon being drafted, Van Dam became the new brand's flagship wrestler, mostly due to his prior history in ECW and his title shot against John Cena at One Night Stand. At One Night Stand, Van Dam defeated Cena to win the WWE Championship, his first ever World Title. After two referees were knocked out, Edge appeared from under the ring and interfered to attack Cena, spearing him through a table. Van Dam then hit a Five Star Frog Splash and the pinfall was counted by Paul Heyman, who suddenly ran down the aisle. On the following episode of RAW, Vince McMahon confirmed that the title change was official, due to the match being held under "extreme rules." For the past few weeks, Heyman had hinted that the WWE Championship would be "rechristened" the ECW World Heavyweight Championship when Van Dam won. On the debut of ECW on Sci Fi, Van Dam was awarded the re-instated ECW World Heavyweight Championship by Heyman. However, Van Dam decided to defend the WWE Championship separately and simultaneously, joking that "this one spins." Thus, Van Dam became the first wrestler in history to hold both the WWE Championship and the ECW World Heavyweight Championship, and the only one to hold them at the same time. It was historic and a moment that no one can ever forget.

it was at the height of the Cena hate era and really got WWECW started. And RVD imo really deserved at least one world title run in the WWE

JBL retires from Smackdown!

May 26, 2006 - After losing the United States Championship, JBL demanded a rematch from World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio that same night, proclaiming that if he lost, he would walk away. When Mysterio defeated him, the self-proclaimed "wrestling god" had no choice but to step down and transition into semi-retirement as a SmackDown Color Commentator.

Stone Cold Steve Austin walks out on WWE

Frustrated with the writing and direction WWE was going in Steve Austin left WWE. Packed his bags, got on a plane and went home. Sources say he was upset about WWE wanting him to job to Brock Lesnar. He had briefly walked out after wrestlemania for basically the same reason (WWE wanted him to lose to Scott Hall). Although Austin had good points about his frustrations with the company in the end he only came out looking selfish. This combined with a highly publicized domestic disturbance hurt Steve Austins standing with fans. Eventually WWE and Austin came to an agreement in 2003. From there Austin wrestled his retirement match against the Rock and spent the better part of 2003 as Raw Co-GM or Raw Sherriff. From then on his appearances became more and more sporadic as Austin concentrated on his acting career. In 2009 Austin was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Austin made his final appearance at Wrestlemania 25 in a beer bash. (He originally left WWE because of bad writing. I wonder what he would think of WWE now)

On the June 7, 2010 episode of Monday Night Raw, NXT Rookies led by season one winner Wade Barret charged the ring and laid waste to everything and everyone in sight. The season one NXT Rookies interrupted the Viewer's Choice Night main event, dismantling not only John Cena and CM Punk, but the ring itself. Following the mayhem, a battered Cena was carted out on a stretcher.
