Most Overrated Movies

I did a thread awhile ago for most overrated TV shows so now I want your opinions on movies.
What would you say are some of the most overrated movies of all time?
They can be recent or old, no matter. Just explain a bit why you feel they are overrated.

I think that Pineapple Express is one of the most overrated movies out there. I remember the hype around it and when I actually saw it I felt like "That was it!?". I mean there were some funny parts in it but for the most part it felt stale and there were plot holes all over the place. Even the ending felt cheap. Like they just rushed it cause they couldn't figure out how to end any of it.

...and it is pointing down. OVERRATED! *clap clap* *clap clap clap*

Blair Witch Project and The Ring. I did a big horror binge a few years back and those two stood out as the shit of the already meh crop

it is a very divisive film. I believe its one of those movies you either get...or you
don't.

As far as overrated films...I would say...

Inception (2010)
Yeah...No...I didn't get it...or why everyone else did...

Avatar (2009)
It was just Dances with Wolves with tall, blue smurf people...

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008)
So I'm a David Fincher fanboy...but I didn't see why this
one was so special.

I'm sure I could list more...but I just woke up...

I have to say...its refreshing to hear someone say they
don't care for Tarantino.

Oh Lord, I know I will get like 10000 dislikes and disagrees but I HATED "The Godfather." I like LONG epics...some of my favorite movies are "Dances with Wolves," "Howard's End," "The Deer Hunter," Kenneth Branagh's "Hamlet" and a score of others... but I just couldn't take "The Godfather." Every time I have tried to watch it, I have fallen asleep.

Now, I almost wonder if the reason I don't like it is because I saw "Goodfellas" first and just figure it is the best mob film ever made... but I don't know.

The performances in the Godfather are great and I can't pinpoint what it is about the film I don't like but I just can't stand it. It bores me to tears and since so many consider it the greatest film ever made, I consider it the most overrated film ever made.

Different films have different "meanings" to different people...
& after Goodfellas I'm not surprised The Godfather failed
to live up to your expectations.

Goodfellas is an amazing movie with some classic performances.

There is no "perfect" film that everyone likes...well...apart from
Citizen Kane of course...which is the greatest film of all time.

Star Wars.

I think Star Wars fans are under the impression that Star Wars has this
amazing cinematic legacy...but in all honesty...the films are pretty standard
action/adventure stories told in space and aren't really that special.

Sure the films have some great moments and hold a special place in
many people's hearts...but as films...Ehh...they aren't really that good.

Yeah...well...there is a difference between liking the design of a character
and actually liking the character...because to be honest...Grievous as a
character is pretty lame.

Looks awesome but.
