I think a unification match would be the best thing to happen to the WWE in a long time. Apparantly it's been discussed though, and Vince doesn't want to do it.

Are they even having MITB this year? Maybe no-one wants to do it anymore because of the risk factor?

There is still ample time to determine MITB participants...so I'm sure they're in no rush.

As for a unification match...hell no. As long as there are two brands there needs to be two seperate champions.
The only belts that need to be unified are the tag titles.

Personally I'm all for a return to the pre-brand split days. I think feuds were able to gather more steam back then, and there was less filler. Plus it would mean, mercifully, no more ECW.

Yeah but WWE has one advantage now that they didn't have back then. When two big names are sepatated by brands for a few years it creates almost a fantasy match kind of vibe between the two. And when the two finally meet they can exploit it for all it's worth. Besides.... it gives guys who would otherwise be lost in the shuffle a chance to shine.

Are you looking at his face? He looks like he's taking Khali up his ass. Not Khali's cock, mind you, I mean the entire Khali. Headfirst. Up to the ankles.

Hmm...wouldnt mind taking Khali. Not up the back alley, though...no, he can come in tha front.
LOL sorry, I'm being a pervert right now

Omg you are so right. Did anyone notice at NWO when he fell from the ring to the floor? So much grease came off him it looked like someone had been mopping the floor. And why are he and Triple H so orange? It actually hurts my eyes. Get off the tan bad Randy!

LOL
Stephanie should grease herself up before she comes out on stage! Wearing heels and a bikini. :devil_2:

Do you see boxers swearing and shit on TV? No.

You don't see blood in every boxing match....
thats boxing, we're watching wrestling. boxers dont cut promos on each other every week and there is no real storyline development. are there any storylines in the first place? pro wrestling is basically a TELEVISION SHOW, not a competitive sport. what we see is different. compare to to films like rocky, raging bull, etc.

also boxers dont ram each others' heads into steel posts and hit each other in the head with steel object and sometimes BARBED WIRE. have you seen any boxing match end with one of the boxers who got 10 jabs, overhead punches and hooks have no swelling on his face what so ever? who would believe that?

Why shouldn't WWE follow the lead of a 'real' aggression driven sport?
because its not really a sport. read above.

As for the rest of the rant, dude... I'm aware my reasoning may come accross as patronising, but ya wrong - The teenage lust that you are expressing for so-called edgy entertainment will subside. Vince realises this even if you don't.

It's the emotion and such that gives something an edge, not guys with cheesy acting skills unconvincingly using profanity to get their point over.
erm, no. i dont need teenage "edginess". sorry but i dont think im your average "teenager". fuck, i still watch cartoons and smile like an idiot while im doing it. the dark knight (film) and pretty much all of batman's films had no "bad words" or even blood, yet i still loved them. i understand what you're saying, it just doesn't apply on me(or not anymore). the whole swearing stuff just needs to be put there sometimes so that the product would be more believable.

i gave you an example in my previous posts. imagine watching american history X without the use of the words "fuck" or "n-word". first, you're gonna end up with the movie missing half of the audio, no believability AND whether you like to admit it or not, less emotionality. those little words you feel we need to hear to feel like grown ups actually add to the emotions. sorry.

Re-affirming a point I have made here on numerous occasions, the inclusion of the words "ass" and "crap" will not increase my enjoyment of the product AT ALL, but it will stop parents letting their kids (the future WWE audience) watch WWE-TV.
its not the "enjoyment". its the ridiculous idea of censorship. ive always hated it. again, ive said numerous times since i joined here that i understand why they're aiming their product more towards kids FOR NOW. great one and monkeystyle have said it best in other posts, im tired lol.

Regarding blood-shed, we still get it at times when it's likely to 'mean' something(*) so I don't see the problem. If anything I thought it kinda refreshing that HHH wasn't wearing 'a crimson mask' by the end of the EC match.
yea and i liked the match but it'll eventually make it pointless to have a match like the EC.

TWOOO MIIILES OF CHAINN and TWOOO TONS OF STEEL....for nothing. soon enough we'll have ladder matches with the ladder ONLY used as a tool to reach for the title.

In relation to your mention of Evolution turning on Orton, yes, it does suck when they edit a clip and lose the essence of it, but it isn't the use of Orton mouthing the word "fuck" that made the moment. If that was acted out in today's climate, Orton would have still reacted with the same EMOTION, simply said something else and the clip would still be used in full; IMPORTANT CONTENT still in tact.
thas pretty much what we said. whats the use of the rest? lol

..."Less Michael Cole" would always be welcome tho'.
pleeeeeease, i fucking hate him. worst thing on raw right now. much prefer the adamle and his lul moments. cole was only entertaining when he used to get owned by the rock and the one time heidenrich kidnapped him from the announce table, took him backstage and cornholed him.

Firstly, to TDK's comment that Airfixx quoted:
Dude, honestly, if you didn't know it was PG or whatever, would you know the difference? Raw is the same now, in terms of storyline quality, edginess, and all that, as it was in 2006.
1) yes you can tell the difference. you may have forgotten about my older posts way before they started doing ridiculous crap like renaming move sets but its been OBVIOUS. everyone was talking about it.
2) 2006 is the year when i used to skip a lot of raws....so yea. if it wasn't for this forum i would've probably stopped watching wrestling. it got me back to it. soo saying its not different from 2006 isn't saying anything.

Trust me, I'm the last one who would like "kid friendly" stuff, but how can you say this really is? A guy punting a boss in the head? A man RKOing a woman?
The fact is, yes, it has been "toned down" a bit, but I don't see it taking away from the progrm that much.
...? did you miss the part where i said raw's been great? oh and the reason the in-ring performance has been headlock-ish is the ridiculous road schedule, not the kids related shit.
It'll be more attitudeish later anyways, is a few eyars. WWE is just trying to rebuild its audience, by attracting new fans (younger), because the old ones have pretty much moved on 9which is why ratings were down for like all of 2007).
pretty sure i know that and been saying it since forever. the ratings started going down BECAUSE of the more kid friendly shit btw, dont get your facts mixed up. it started before 2007.

Off of the subject.... was there any mention of MitB qualifiers last night.
i thiiiink i heard someone talk about the MITB on raw but no qualifiers...

...... and please keep Vickie off of RAW. I've had enough of her on SD that I turn the tv when she's on it. I missed most of the opening segment because of her.
look:
last time i said i wont be watching smackdown.

this time im saying i wont be even reading the reviews. fuck smackdown and whatever happens in there. and as long as edge and taker are not on raw, fuck em. seriously..

i got bored reading that. nothing exciting. nothing new. im glad i skipped it.

goodbye for now smackdown

main reason: vickie guerrero.

i still haven't seen a smackdown episode since then. i think i downloaded the one right after the draft, skipped through it and decided not to watch ever again.
One thing I'm certain of, we won't be seeing Edge/Orton one-on-one.
im still not quite certain but this is saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad, i want edge vs orton. but yea, like i said (did i?) a title unification would be much better.
LOL
Stephanie should grease herself up before she comes out on stage! Wearing heels and a bikini. :devil_2:
heels are enough :2:

Did anyone else notice how shit poor Vickie's delivery of her promo was? She still gets amazing heat too. If only WWE put time into someone with talent like that have for her.

are people still thinking its heel heat? its pretty much GTFO here. thats not heel heat. and her "excuse me" is getting over-used so even the guys who might've thought she's a good heel should be bashing her for being so repetitive now.

I just turn the tv when ever she's on there. She's too annoying now. I can't stand her.

That's how she gets the most boo's. I noticed that before I started turning the tv when she came on. She could be talking and getting small boos, and then say excuse me excuse me and the boos get louder. It use to be before that she'd say it when she tried talking and the audience was too loud, now she just says it for boos.

Most the time I miss a majority of SD because I turn it when she's on and I'll find something else to watch or go talk or something and forget all about it. And Edge needs to get away from her, It's too the point where I think he gets heat by association from her and not his self.

Not every week, but they DO cut promo's on each other ... I'm sure you've heard of the legendary promo's of a certain Mohammed Ali...? Never seen a press conference where Don King had the guys so psyched, trading insults etc, that they wanted to 'kill' each other there and then?

...The boxers aren't exactly scholars yet it still doesn't decesnd into "motherfucker this" & "cunt that".

and there is no real storyline development. are there any storylines in the first place?

No less 'storyline' than a typical wrestling match... Diff is one's a true story unfolding as you watch, the other is fiction. Why wouldn't you want the reality to inform the fiction as much as poss? IF realism is truly what you are interested in that is. (My main and original point.)

Wrestlers were telling storylines in the ring long before 10-min in-ring promo's, live weekly TV and all the trimmings. The match itself is predominantly the story.

pro wrestling is basically a TELEVISION SHOW, not a competitive sport. what we see is different. compare to to films like rocky, raging bull, etc.

It's a show ABOUT a SUPPOSEDLY competetive sport so, again, why not have the reality inform the fiction as much as possible if beleivabilty is your concern...?

also boxers dont ram each others' heads into steel posts and hit each other in the head with steel object and sometimes BARBED WIRE. have you seen any boxing match end with one of the boxers who got 10 jabs, overhead punches and hooks have no swelling on his face what so ever? who would believe that?

They still have the wrestlers bleed when the situation warrants it. Not sure what else you are driving at here...?

erm, no. i dont need teenage "edginess". sorry but i dont think im your average "teenager". fuck, i still watch cartoons and smile like an idiot while im doing it. the dark knight (film) and pretty much all of batman's films had no "bad words" or even blood, yet i still loved them. i understand what you're saying, it just doesn't apply on me(or not anymore). the whole swearing stuff just needs to be put there sometimes so that the product would be more believable.

Sorry, could just be me, but I simply don't find it entirely unbeleivable that a person can express themselves WITHOUT resulting to profanity (especially when being portrayed as being a proffesional athlete who is, in some characters cases - e.g. Hogan, Cena etc. - a wholesome rolemodel for kids.)

i gave you an example in my previous posts. imagine watching american history X without the use of the words "fuck" or "n-word". first, you're gonna end up with the movie missing half of the audio, no believability AND whether you like to admit it or not, less emotionality. those little words you feel we need to hear to feel like grown ups actually add to the emotions. sorry.

Rubbish. Those same emotions can be expressed just as effectively with a decent comand of language. In fact, when hearing someone letting off a heart-felt rant, any swearing usually DETRACTS from the emotion.

its not the "enjoyment". its the ridiculous idea of censorship. ive always hated it.

I hate censorship too, but aside from the censoring the odd moment of footage from a different era so that it suits todays market (see the Evolution clip we spoke of), there is NO "censorship" going on.

yea and i liked the match but it'll eventually make it pointless to have a match like the EC. TWOOO MIIILES OF CHAINN and TWOOO TONS OF STEEL....for nothing.

"For nothing"???? ....So the sole purpose of the EC rather than having a standard match is to create the platform for some blading? Get the fuck outta here! ...That's bullshit and I don't beleive your dumb enough to truly think such a thing!

soon enough we'll have ladder matches with the ladder ONLY used as a tool to reach for the title.

Who knows, but MITB@WM24 & HBK/Jericho & a number of Jeff Hardy matches from last year argue otherwise.

Re: Randy Orton clip: thats pretty much what we said. whats the use of the rest? lol

I'm trying to illustrate the fact that that clip would have been just as effective when it first aired if Orton HADN'T been seen to say "fuck"... His facial expression alone would have seen to that.

Re: Vicki.... If you could buy a t-shirt with her on the front in her bogus wheel chair and the quote "Excuse me!!!" on the back, I'd be wearing one as we 'speak'... :y:

keyword: not every week. and those "promos" are more comparable to post-match interviews with football managers and players. boxing is so different and so not the case here. bad example

and fyi i was kind of a boxing fan at some point so i know what you're talking about.

...The boxers aren't exactly scholars yet it still doesn't decesnd into "motherfucker this" & "cunt that".
when did i ever ask for the show to be like that? even so, saying that shit is likely to happen if you're REALLY pissed off. remember edge vs matt feud?

No less 'storyline' than a typical wrestling match... Diff is one's a true story unfolding as you watch, the other is fiction. Why wouldn't you want the reality to inform the fiction as much as poss? IF realism is truly what you are interested in that is. (My main and original point.)
YESS less storyline than a typical wrestling match of this era. we're not in the 80s anymore. just look at the orton/mcmahon storyline, do you see anything like that in boxing? NO. all im asking is when it calls for it, even though its rare(and i dont mind), its not gonna hurt to drop a bad word like "ass" or "bitch". nothing as heavy as fuck or cunt.

Wrestlers were telling storylines in the ring long before 10-min in-ring promo's, live weekly TV and all the trimmings. The match itself is predominantly the story.
wrong. try to watch hbk/flair, rock/austin or rock/hogan without the back story. its not the same.

It's a show ABOUT a SUPPOSEDLY competetive sport so, again, why not have the reality inform the fiction as much as possible if beleivabilty is your concern...?

are you sure you watched the rocky series? because if you did you're gonna know what im talking about. do you just watch the in-ring performance and not the promos? because you can only do that in REAL competitive sports and not pro wrestling. at least not today's. seriously, that thats the difference between the wrestling and any other competitive sport. you are soooooooooooooooooooooooooo 80s.

They still have the wrestlers bleed when the situation warrants it. Not sure what else you are driving at here...?

i was responding to your comment where you said boxers dont bleed in every match. as opposed, they do swell every match. way to trash what i was saying.

you cant deny that there's a lot less blood these days than there was in the past. while i still like raw these days, a lot of times its better to have backstage brawls (which means weapons are gonna be used....which means we should see some blood). also, whats with this not so EXTREEEEME championship wrestling? you cant be extreme without weapons or blood. for the last time, im not a fan of death matches or hardcore matches but it becomes fucking boring when you only see them countable times a year.

and would you people (not just you, airfixx) please stop with all these "if you want women, go watch porn. if you want blood, watch a horror film. if you want swearing, listen to a rap song" shit? its fucking bullshit. if all you want to fucking see is WRESTLING, watch the fucking olympics and dont ever try to watch pro wrestling again.

Sorry, could just be me, but I simply don't find it entirely unbeleivable that a person can express themselves WITHOUT resulting to profanity (especially when being portrayed as being a proffesional athlete who is, in some characters cases - e.g. Hogan, Cena etc. - a wholesome rolemodel for kids.)
its just you then. in most real fights and feuds (the kind of storylines wwe does...like the hhh/orton one) people tend to lose control of themselves and drop a couple of words.

and when the fuck did i say i wanted hogan and cena to say that? role models are role models. the rest aren't so its not gonna hurt to see them go for profanity.

Rubbish. Those same emotions can be expressed just as effectively with a decent comand of language. In fact, when hearing someone letting off a heart-felt rant, any swearing usually DETRACTS from the emotion.

wrong. its not like wrestlers debate their cases, they're supposed to be feuds...personal ones. you're demanding people to say the word fuck without saying the word fuck. what the fuck?

please answer me. how the fuck am i gonna believe that a film like american history x is real if the n word is not used at all? is that really hard to get to your mind?

and the thing about emotions, if you really think its rubbish after the examples then i have no clue how to make you understand this. perhaps if others read this they might. seriously, you live in a perfect world. when was the last time you heard the word fuck irl?

I hate censorship too, but aside from the censoring the odd moment of footage from a different era so that it suits todays market (see the Evolution clip we spoke of), there is NO "censorship" going on.

before they officially changed raw's rating to PG13, there was. not too long ago.

oh and why censor DVDs?

"For nothing"???? ....So the sole purpose of the EC rather than having a standard match is to create the platform for some blading? Get the fuck outta here! ...That's bullshit and I don't beleive your dumb enough to truly think such a thing!

rofl yes, thats basically what the EC match is hyped to be. you said you've never watched any 2002 raw, maybe thats why you dont get it. EC made its debut as this match that leaves no one the same after all the "carnage". so yea. how many times have you heard commentators say "no man will ever walk the same after this match"? why do you think they say that? because the match is about 4 guys who are kept inside a glass chamber waiting their turn to get in?

try watching the first ever EC match and compare it to the ones from last week. i liked last week's but that doesn't mean it really served the real purpose of the match type. a hardcore match can end without any weapons used and still be a GREAT match (like most hbk's matches) but whats the use of the word "hardcore"?

its not my opinion, its a FACT.

Who knows, but MITB@WM24 & HBK/Jericho & a number of Jeff Hardy matches from last year argue otherwise.
yea but what if it happens? what are you gonna say about that?

I'm trying to illustrate the fact that that clip would have been just as effective when it first aired if Orton HADN'T been seen to say "fuck"... His facial expression alone would have seen to that.
..............sure. i still dont like censorship, especially if its something from the past. good decision on their behalf to attract new fans or not is none of my business. im just a fan who watches the show every week and judges what he likes and what he does not like.

i get what you're trying to say though.

Re: Vicki.... If you could buy a t-shirt with her on the front in her bogus wheel chair and the quote "Excuse me!!!" on the back, I'd be wearing one as we 'speak'... :y:
then i would literally stab you in the back if i saw you.

WooHoo I Think we may be gonna get sides of the Badass Trips again. The end segment was mint. When trips was walking down the ramp with his leather jacket wet hair and trusty sledgy in hand. It was shades of the mean bad ass gonna fuck you up big time HHH. Most exciting Trips as been in ages :)

Oh yeah the rest of raw wasn't that bad either LOL. Money in the bank qualifiers started. Was pretty good match. And Santino is just pure gold i love that guy he cracks me up. I'm also loving the stars crossing brands and having inter-brand feuds. Its mixing things up a bit and making things exciting and fresh. Yes before anyone points out that Cena/Edge HHH/Orton as been done loads of times. But this time there is a good solid storyline behind it well Orton/Trips one anyway. I'M also up for the Edge/Cena one too as it goes because they can put on a pretty good match.
