I'm sure his time will come, they're focusing on penguin for now. He has to go from working for the police force to being a criminal at some point. It'll be interesting to see what sets him off.
I like the tough love, and that will subside when the killer is put to justice years later. Someone has to play the father figure, and i enjoyed how the episode portrayed him with the sword fight, but moreso with the candle in e2.

Penguin has been just great, that dude is a stellar actor. I also disagree on Nygma, unless you mean him lurking around the station...I think he needs no lines, but subtly putting him in situations to hear what is going on behind the press would make me really happy. So far i'm really enjoying this season, I want to press for more super villains right away but have to remind myself not to rush it. I never read the comics so i'm sure i'll miss one or a dozen.

Okay, so after the godawful pilot I promised to never watch this show again, but I buckled and watched E2, and shit, somehow it managed to be even worse. Seriously, Gotham is horrendous and I feel bad for some of the fine actors who have to participate in this abomination of a writing.

If you enjoy this then you're a hopeless Batman supergeek who enjoy just about anything with the Batman label on it.

1/10.
I can not tell if you are trying to mess with me but HOW DARE YOU MISTER. HOW DARE YOU.

The only thing I'm not enjoying is the guy who plays Alfred and the way he's playing him. Alfred has never been so dickish, he's supposed to be the loving caring guardian of Bruce.

I'm going to try to find the comic, if I can remember which one it is, but, in a comic book Bruce once said that Alfred, while carrying out his father's strict orders, ran the Wayne home like a boot camp with a soft-hearted drill instructor. Very similar to what he is actually doing on Gotham.. his father wished for Bruce to find his own way in life but wanted discipline instilled as well.. I think that is being portrayed well. Example: Bruce not wanting to eat... Alfred very politely reminded him that he needed to eat, but sternly say he would not fix anymore food if he didn't eat. Kindness and discipline.

Another good episode... I like the moments between Bruce and Jim Gordon.. it feeds into why Batman trusts Gordon so much.. Alfred once again displayed a concern with what Bruce was doing but nonetheless let him be.. the power struggles between the 2 gangs are well thought out.. Cobblepot is being brilliantly portrayed and his rise to power is being handled very well. I still don't know what to think of Fish Mooney, being a character created for the show it's hard to get a read on what she is going to do. I like that you can see Gordon's influence on Bullock slowly taking hold.. in later comics Bullock is one of Gordon's most trusted companions.

All in all, they are continuing to do a good job.

2 episodes now Cobblepot has made a grand entrance to end the show lol

I still like this show but they really did not build on anything with this episode... there was barely any mythos contained in it at all.

Well it gave you some background on bullock. Showing that he is really a good guy and not just a lazy prick. Then it wrapped up by continuing the MCU/penguin/Gordon storyline.

Yeah, you're right... I think I need to forget the comic books while watching this show and watch every episode as if it's all new information. I know that Bullock is a good guy from the comics so that didn't even register for me lol

That was one hell of an episode.. best of the season by far. Introduction of a new villain, the furthering of the Penguin's story, further development of the relationship between Wayne/Gordon and Gordon/Bullock, Gordon saw more than ever before just how corrupt the police force is, and the big reveal at the end.

Awesome!

Cobblepot is the fucking dude. I love the actor, the cinematic and how it's all played out so far. If this isn't a perfect example of how to build towards an amazing show, I don't know what is. Walking Dead season 1 was mostly character integration, Breaking bad Walt was a pussy and Jesse was a methhead, and there are a ton of other examples. I love watching Bruce step up, seeing Alfred show off his badass side, and watching the supervillians evolve.

Yes he is.

He is from a 1959 (?) issue of a batman comic his name Zsasz or Mr. Zsasz. As for Mr. Freeze his name is Victor Fries.

They're two different people depending on the take. Zsasz was a side villain in the Arkham City game and Mr.Freeze was one of the main villains. I'm still thinking that Christmas from the MCU will be the guy they chose to become Mr.Freeze.
