It's not the contracts that are the issue. It's that ROH has become too big to just be a feeder fed to the WWE. WWE was perfectly happy to play nice with ROH when it was "smal & harmless". But ROH isn't either anymore. ROH has had 1 crowd under 700 people in the past 2 years, even drawing good number when running opposite or in the vicinity of WWE events, they have national TV, is a tight partner with the second biggest company worldwide and can offer talent good pay.

I Quit Match – If Gargano Loses, He Will Leave WWN
Johnny Gargano def Ethan Page when he used the ring ropes with his Gargano Escape
– It was Page who had takent he ropes down first
– Ethan page came out to Triple H theme. It was said to be incredible.
– Sami Zayn’s music hit at the end of the match.
Zayn said that it was insane being at EVOLVE. He then addressed Page and said he was no Kevin Owens. Zayn stated he missed the fans, indie wrestling, and thanked everyone who supported EVOLVE. He said there were some new things happening with EVOLVE and that things would be getting bigger and better. Zayn stated that he’s seen Gargano here and there (implying NXT) and that he deserves to be The EVOLVE Champion. Gargano and Zayn shook hands while streamers came down and thanked the crowd for coming.

EVOLVE 49 was a decent show. The ME, Gargano vs Page was MOTN, whie Mack vs Cooter was hilariously bad and the worst thing on the show. What an underwhelming debut for The Mack. The rest of the card was a'ight, but didn't do much for me.
