i am a fellow straight edger. i was influenced to join the way of straight edge when i saw the things drugs and alchol can do to you can seeing people like Cm punk and most punk bands be straight edged i pleged to be straight edge my whole life

One of the main reasons i decided to be one was seeing CM Punk, a professional wrestler, not the biggest dude but still a sucessful pro wrestler working for The WWE and main eventing and being the major face of a show, sure its ECW which is like Mid Carding on RAW but its a main event non the less, besides he gets the biggest pops of the night. And he did it without using Drugs or Steroids
I can't do it...I don't smoke.......and I'm married so sex comes whenever I can get it......lol......but with my kind of work....I have to have some kind of drink when I get off to get rid of some of the tension it brings......a beer a glass of wine....I need that at least once a day....I'm having a glass of wine right now

^^ True Dat! LOL But Seriously when you are underaged you want to drink because you are not supposed to. But when you are in your 20's you can just go to a bar and have a beer or somethin' in public, there seems to be no fun in that.
Alhajiri almost had it right.
When I was your age (15-17 I guess) I was like no way am I ever gonna touch drugs or booze. When there were parties, I attended, but I didn't do anything.
What changed, I dunno but fast forward to 18 and everything changed. Not because of teh change in age, I can't tell you why. But things change.
If you don't wind up doing drugs or drinking ever in your life, that's fine. I think you are missing out on life experiences, but its your choice. My point here is though I bet if I were to check back in with all of you in 2-3 years time the number of you claiming to be "sXe" will be like, "yeah, I gave that up."

I dought it...because that shit ain't worth it...The way i see it is when you younger you don't want anyone to control you life...So when you turn 18 you finally get to control your own life...So why would you give up the freedom you finally earned and let Drugs, Alchohol, or Smoking control your life...
...and i don't believe theres as much pressure now as there was back then...for example i got sent to Alternative Ed. cuase i slacked off really badly in regular school...and now i'm literally outkasted for being straight edge...Cuase EVERYONE there does drugs and all that shit...So i believe if i can stay Straight Edge throw that...Then i'm set for life...

Why does it need to control you?
That is precisely what I mean. Yes you hear a lot of stories about alcoholics and drug addicts and shit like that, but they're all negative. That's because when telling cautionary stories or reporting news its a priority to focus on the negatives and scare the cautionee into submission. You never ever hear about the large majority of people who use alcohol and drugs and live normal, every day lives, which as I'll state again for reinforcement is the MAJORITY of the population.
Biggest point here is they don't control you unless you let them, and in that case you have nobody to blame but yourself. If you take responsibility and use that brain in your head one can do that shit without worry.
