1985. And one of mine is from 1984 :) And the other is from 1970-something.

Full Metal Jacket is definitely Top 20 for me, as is Trainspotting.

Fair enough, but I found the likes of Slumdog and King's Speech to be strange choices.

I'm more of a modern film sort of person and I can't put them in order but here's 10/top 10:

The Hangover
The Dark Knight
Friday
The Avengers
Die Hard
Fast Five
Top Gun
Goodfellas
The Hurt Locker
The Godfather

There's a few others I really wanted to include but there's a top 10. Here are some of the others: Terminator 2: Judgment Day, The Green Mile, Jaws, Ocean's Eleven, Step Brothers, Faster, Ironman 1 and 2, Borat

King's Speech instantly shot to my top 5/10 the minute I saw it. What a phenomenal movie!

Apart from the fact that I was not a huge KSF fan (it was too televisional, the script was unremarkable, and it felt stagey) couldn't you agrue that it is too recent a film to be in someones top ten. Classic films only become so after they have been around for years, it is how they stand up when viewed over many years and by new audiences which define then as classics.

I found it immensely overrated, but then again I'm not American, so maybe that's the problem. There's no emotional connection there for me. The first scene was riveting, though.

Goodfellas, though, definitely a great movie.

Keith..ever heard of an "instant classic"? That's what KS was for me.
