Your thoughts on Roman Reigns?

Ideally I'd move Roman away from the Shield stuff. If he is going to be as big a star as they want him to be he shouldn't need that safety blanket.

Roman just needs to get rid of that vest and the music, it's too reminiscent of The Shield. Keeping the pants on is fine with me.
Not sure if he should change his entrance, though. It's probably the only thing that separates him from the rest of the roster.

Didn't Triple H keep the DX feel for a pretty long time for his big push? How is it babying or a safety blanket?

I like the vest but I wouldn't mind him ditching it. He should keep the entrance (maybe) and the pants, though. Look at what he looked like with dark pants and no shirt when he was receiving a 3-on-1 beat down from Evolution at Payback 2014 - that'd be an awesome look for him to use every night.

I really don't have a problem with the vest though, or the entrance. The one thing he should definitely change to something different, though, is his music. And I figure he probably will sometime around or after Wrestlemania. Guys often receive a new theme (or at least a modification to their current one) when they receive their first big main event push. Austin did, Cena did, Batista did, etc. Punk has already won the WHC, but when they decided to push him as a permanent main eventer and win the WWE Title in 2011, they fitted him with a new theme as well.

He returned in 2006 using the old theme and didn't receive a new one until 2008.

The Shield was so over that WWE didn't want fans feeling like Reigns had forgotten his roots.
Some people reject unfamiliarity so much that it causes them to reject something new.
Why change what worked so well? Reigns is remaining true to the Shield. That's honorable.

It does make sense, all of this you mentioned. But a little change wouldn't hurt, that's all.

In fact, both Dean and Seth have changed their theme songs (even though they're garbage, lol) and their attires, yet distinguishing themselves from The Shield didn't hurt 'em one iota.

Reigns will NEVER turn his back on the Shield. It's his calling card. He's the Shield through and through.
The reason this is important is to inform the fans that Reigns will always be there for them..... He is a hound of justice and always will be.
Years from now, the goal will be to promote him as man who remained true to his word since day 1.

It's a marketing ploy designed to show how loyal he is. This is a long term strategy rather than a short term deal.

Reigns winning the Rumble is pretty much set in stone... Unless they surprise us by having Ambrose win it. But, I doubt it.
They'll just choose the easier route, in my opinion... Bork defeats Cena at the Rumble, then Reigns wins the Royal Rumble match and goes on to conquer The Beast at WM31...
And then, my fantasy-booking and marking out moment (if it happens) comes out to play, Rollins comes out and cashes in on Reigns that same night and becomes the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion! :yay:
