WWE Raw 08/26/2002
Madison Square Garden
New York, New York
WWE Undisputed Champion: Brock Lesnar
WWE Women's Champion: Molly Holly
WWE Intercontinental Champion: Rob Van Dam
WWE Tag Team Champions: The Un-Americans
WWE Hardcore Champion: Tommy Dreamer
Eric Bischoff comes out on the stage and welcomes us to his show. He then promise's a historic night when the Hardcore Champion Tommy Dreamer will face IC Champion Rob Van Dam. And then we'll bestow a Lifetime Achievement Award to a great WWE Superstar. But first, welcome the new Undisputed Champion, Brock Lesnar!
Paul Heyman & Brock Lesnar come out and head down to the ring, Heyman gets on the mic and says "You can take Bruno Samartino, Superstar Billy Graham, and Hollywood Hulk Hogan, combine them all, and they still don't equal the Next Big Thing. He told us all this was going to happen, but no one would listen. He told us Lesnar would win King of the Ring, but no one would listen. He told us Lesnar would destroy the myth of Hollywood Hulk Hogan, but no one would listen. He told us Lesnar would defeat the Rock for the Undisputed Title, but no one would listen. It's about time everyone listened up" Brock then takes the mic and says he's twenty-five years old, and the youngest World Champion in history. He's the youngest ever, and nobody can beat him. Shawn Michaels' music hits, but Triple H comes out instead. AWESOME! He even does moves like Michaels would do too

Triple H stands on the stage and says that it is the last time we will ever hear that crap again. Last night, Triple H crippled Michaels. Shawn didn't even belong in the same ring, and now he will never get in the ring again. In fact, Shawn might never even walk again. Triple H then starts walking to the ring and he reminds Brock that he wouldn't be Champion if it weren't for Triple H. Trips softened the Rock last week, and he told Brock that when he came out with his new Title, he would be waiting. Well here he is, and now Brock owes him. Triple H enters the ring and asks if Brock is man enough to "play the game" They go nose-to-nose, Suddenly Undertaker's music hits and he comes down to the ring. Undertaker says the way he sees it, Triple H is all wrong. The way he sees it he should get first crack at the young blood. He then calls himself the #1 Contender and asks if Brock is the "Next Big Thing" or "Next Big Bitch"! Taker gets in Brock's face, allowing Triple H to attack Taker from behind. He and Brock beat Taker into the corner; Triple H then starts to attack Brock which allows Taker fights back and knocks Triple H out of the ring. He then goes face-to-face with Brock and knocks Brock out of the ring with one punch. Triple H renters the ring, and stares Undertaker down then leaves the ring again.
Back from the commercial, And Bischoff is at the commentary table, he telling us that tonight, we will find who the Number One Contender is when Triple H and the Undertaker take on each other in the Main Event.
Booker T vs. Christian (w/ Lance Storm)
4 minutes of really good action here, they did tell much of story but just did a bunch of really good moves, Booker was really energetic but Christian would cut him off with simple yet effective moves, this happen maybe 3/4 times before the big comeback. I must say Booker's slap/chop back and forth combo in the corner is the most hilarious thing I've ever seen. The match ends when Booker is about to do the Spinaroonie, but Lance Storm runs in, only to be cut off by Goldust. Goldust battles Storm out of the ring, while Christian looks for the Unprettier. Booker pushes him away and hits the scissors kick for the win. **1/2
In the back, Christian complains to Storm, but Test comes up and tells them to cool down. It’s only one match Test then says he's got a plan that will have people talking about the Un-Americans for years.
Christopher Nowinski & William Regal (w/ Molly Holly) vs. Bubba Ray & Spike Dudley
Terrible, terrible, terrible match. Bubba hits the bubbabombs Nowinski for the win. Post-Match: , Bubba tries to powerbomb Molly through the table, but William Regal hits Bubba in the head with the brass knux! Nowinski catches Molly and saves her, by pulling her from the ring. Spike then tries to DudleyDog Regal through the table, but it doesn't break!

and it appears Regal LEGIT injured his arm. But Bubba doesn't give a fuck and powerbombs Regal straight through the table! *
Backstage, Bischoff tells someone in the Special Guest Locker-room to stay in there while he goes out and to wait for their introduction to receive the award. Elsewhere Molly thanks Nowinski for being a gentleman and says that if there is anything she can do to repay him, just say so! She then gives him a hug.
In the ring, Bischoff says that it is his honor to bring to you one of the greatest superstars of all time: Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka! Snuka comes out and comes to the ring. Bischoff, holding a plaque, says that he has created a highlight reel of Snuka's greatest moments. The movie is highlighted by Snuka's famous flight off the top of the steel cage in Madison Square Garden. Bischoff says that it is with great pleasure that he presents to Jimmy Snuka the WWE Lifetime Achievement Award. How does it feel? Snuka starts to say thanks, but Bischoff takes the mic back and says these past three minutes in the ring have just been -- ...hold on, hold on. DID SOMEBODY SAY...THREE MINUTES?! The crowd boos, as Rosey & Jamal jump the rail and attack Jimmy Snuka! Bischoff laughs from the ramp as we go to a commercial, they show footage of it again as Snuka is being helped out, but Chris Jericho comes down dressed for a match, and puts Snuka in the Walls of Jericho, then laughs.
Jericho gets on the mic and wonders when they changed the name of this arena to Madison Square Hasbeen? Just like Flair, Snuka thinks that he deserves special treatment just because he's old. If anyone deserves an award, it's the King of the World. And if anyone should have won that match at SummerSlam, it should be him and not Flair. And he has footage to prove it. We see a replay of SummerSlam, where Flair tapped with one hand while he grabbed the ropes with the other. Well Jericho is pissed off, and he's going to take his anger out on Flair's little buddy Jeff Hardy. But first, since Flair disrupted his Fozzy concert last week, he's going to give us all a special treat: Jericho's own version of "New York, New York." Jericho begins to sing, but of course changes the song to make him dying to get out of New York instead of going to it. We come back to find Jericho still singing, until Jeff Hardy makes his entrance.
Chris Jericho vs. Jeff Hardy
This was okay but it did have a few mishaps, Jericho was really in Vintage loud asshole mode here so you know he was bumping his ass off for Jeff when needed. They did do this cool spot on the outside when Jeff does the runs on the security wall but Jericho watches him in mid-air and powerslams him on the floor, the next few minutes Jericho works on the back and Jeff has a average comeback. The match ends when Jeff tries a hurricanrana, but Jericho catches him and pulls him down into the Walls of Jericho, but Jeff grabs the ropes. Jericho refuses to break the hold, and the ref DQ's him. **1/4
In the back, Terri interviews Paul Heyman/Brock Lesnar she asks Heyman who he prefers as his #1 Contender, but Brock says that it doesn’t makes a difference! Elsewhere Test holds up a US flag and says tonight, this goes up in flames, and he has a blow torch. Christian comments that 'this is wrong...... it's perfect!"
The Un-Americans come to the ring, Test with the blowtorch and Storm with the flag. Test says that it's about time the Americans realize what the rest of the world thinks America. Storm and Christian unfurl the flag, but the fires of hell explode and Kane's video plays. But Kane does not appear! Booker T & Goldust come through the crowd and attack the Un-Americans instead they take out Storm and Christian, leaving Test in the ring with the flag. BOOM! The Fires of Hell explode again, and Kane appears! The Big Red Machine is back! He comes to the ring and beats Test down. Christian hits Kane with a chairshot that doesn't faze him. Kane clears the ring of Storm and Christian, then chokeslams Test! The Un-Americans back up the ramp, as Booker celebrates and Goldust waves the flag. Booker hits the Spinaroonie as Goldust and Kane look on. Booker starts to leave, but Kane stops him. He tells Booker that the people didn't come just to see the Spinaroonie. They came to see the Kane-a-roonie! Kane stares at his glove and spins around, then lights the ringposts. WHAT?
Unification Match: WWE Intercontinental Champion Rob Van Dam vs. WWE Hardcore Champion Tommy Dreamer
This was fun, it was standard Hardcore stuff. Nothing was phenomenal and we've seen all the spots done before. At one point RVD set dream up on the security wall and RVD put the ladder in-between the wall and the ring apron, he then got on it and jumped off with a flying side kick, which was pretty sweet. RVD even did that hilarious DDT bump when he lands on the top of his head. The match ends when Tommy stands on the ladder and tries to Superplex RVD, but RVD takes out his legs and Dreamer straddles the rungs. RVD hits a flying heel kick and then low dropkicks a chair into Tommy's face. RVD goes up top and hits the Five Star for the win. Post-Match: RVD hugs a tearful Dreamer then RVD celebrates in the ring with his Title while Tommy starts an R-V-D chant up the ramp. ***
As we come back, Stacy Kiebler comes down the ramp and says that she isn't in Fink's corner. She's just here to make sure Trish doesn't get involved. Fink says that “Stacy's getting involved with something in his trousers” HAHAHAHAHAHA! Trish and Lillian come down for the first ever Tuxedo/Evening Gown match, with the winner becoming the ring announcer for Raw. Fink says that Lillian has a nice gown, but hookers were banned from this city a long time ago. :lmoa I love this guy.
Lilian Garcia vs. Howard Finkel
DUD!
#1 Contender's Match: The Undertaker vs. Triple H
This was a lot better than their other previous 2002 match but barely, It was just a brawl and Triple H was in control for the most part and they just brawled for the most part all punched they did work in the sleeper but that was part of the story of Triple H working the head. The match ends when Taker whips Hunter into the corner, smashing Earl Hebner in the process. Taker again whips Trips into the corner, and again Hebner gets smashed. Taker calls for the end and hits the Chokeslam, but Hebner is out. Lesnar runs to the ring, but Taker knocks him off the apron. Triple H low blows Taker and goes for the Pedigree, but Taker back bodydrops him. Lesnar comes back in and nails Taker with the Title belt. Triple H begins crawling on top of Taker for the win. **1/4
In the back, Stephanie exits her limo, to be greeted by Bischoff. He tells Steph to get the hell out of his building! He then brags about how he has the Number One contender. Lesnar and Heyman walk up and Steph asks what Triple H is contending for. Bischoff says that the Undisputed Champion wrestles on both shows, but Steph opens the door for Lesnar and Heyman and tells Bischoff that it is the Champion's choice what shows he wrestles on. She has paid Lesnar a large sum of money to stay exclusive to SmackDown.
