Wow.... So this week, we just saw Chris Harris be changed to "Braden Walker"... Thats pretty bad. But, sadly, it doesn't end there.
For some reason, wwe likes to change the names of guys. Now, I can understand if it's nto their real name, and they aren't aloud to use the name. But if it's the guys real name(Matt Sydal), or a name that's fake that hasnt been used before (The Major Brothers), I dont see why they change it.
But they do, and that's pretty stupid. But if that isnt bad enough, the names are HORRIBLE. I mean, it seems they dont know how to make a name. Instead, they make these cheesy, obviously fake, fictisious names.
Here's some recent examples:
Monty Brown became Marcus Cor Von...
Matt Sydal became Evan Bourne
Atlas Ortiz became Rick Ortiz
Brian and Brett Major became Curt Hawkins and Zach Ryder
Chris Harris became Braden Walker...

So ya, these names were fine how they were... But if they had to change them, they could've got some better ones. But now wwe is in a bad spot, because te name suck,a nd if they leave it like they are now, with the crappy names, then they look stupid with those names, but if they change the names again, it looks just as dumb for changing the names.
So basically, these names suck. What do you all think of these recent "new" names in wwe?

Interesting story i was watchin' WWE 24/7 that i ordered and Mick Foley was talking about horrible gimmicks...and he said when Stone Cold first came it was decided that they wanted his name to be something that had to do with temperature and before he wife came up with the idea for Stone Cold...The list of names that was to be given to him consider of names like Ice Dagger...I could only imagine if we had got to see the origin of Ice Dagger Steve Austin...Lol...

You complain too fucking much. They're just names. Get over it. I don't give a shit what the wrestlers name is.

I don't know...I think it just depends on how popular the guy is, I would probably get upset if AJ Styles jumped ship and became Tyson McDonald or something...but like you said Allen Jones might be ok...:shifty:

Cause the fact is a name can make or break a wrestler...Do you think people would have ever cheered for The Rock if he had a name like Richard Cockhugger, or if Undertaker had a name like The Buttraper you would still cheer for him...I know my names are a little over board but the fact is you want a wrestler to have a fitting name otherwise you just feel wierd cheering for them...

But the name changes lately aren't over the top. Thus no reason to complain. Evan Bourne is already over with the ECW crowd because of his wrestling. They obviously don't care what his name.

And for the record. His name was Atlas Da Bone. They changed it Atlas/Ricky Ortiz.

Well for Hawkins and Ryder it was when Vince found out they weren't really brothers but yeah. The names are pretty bad and the names can help people get over with the fans and that will help WWE out. The names should of been kept the same but I can understand some of the changes like Evan Bourne and Matt Sydal one, Matt Sydal Jobbed. Evan Bourne doesn't lol

some names are really bad, but we need to get used to it. I remember when Alexis Laree made her debut, everybody was unhappy with the Mickie James name, and now, a lot of people may think it's her real name lol

^ It is her real name.

I like the name Evan Bourne. It reminds me of Jason Bourne who kicked major ass. That may be the same reason they picked that last name.

Braden Walker....Braden should have at least stayed Chris, the Walker part I don't mind. Does he still have a westernish gimmick? Could be a play off of Walker: Texas Ranger.

I'm really glad they aren't giving Ron Killings a new name. I was also really surprised that they kept CM Punk's name and they haven't even explained it (at least not that I heard or seen).

I guess the moral of the story here is to establish yourself somewhere else, then move to WWE to increase the chances that you'll keep your name.

LOL, I complain?
Firstly, most of my threads are'nt bitch threads at all, they're mostly talking about what pople would like to see.
Secondly, you clearly dont know much about my posting then. Because Im one of the biggest wwe sheep on here. Whenever people come in here and start bashing wwe, Im usually taking wwe's side. I just decided to make a thread, cause these names are kind of stupid.
And I never said the names were uining the product, but they do sound stupid.

Dude, Major Brothers sounded so bad. Zach Ryder and Kurt Hawkins is a big step up imo. Evan Bourne is pretty cool. And Atlas Ortiz was originally Atlas DaBone, so I see no need to complain there.

There are also some good names. MVP springs to mind. Montel Vontavious Porter is an awesome name.

Real bad name is Kenny Dykstra imo. Just what in the hell is wrong with Ken Doane, or Kenny Doane?
