Yes that's right, another review of a classic N64 game (i'll get around to PS1 games the next time I play them, probably Hogs of War)

This game is called Banjo-Kazooie, it was made by Rare Ware and is probably one of the best Action Adventure platforming games ever made, the controls are simple and the premise is easy to get into. So we'll start this review like I did the last one (feel free to post your own too guys)

Gameplay: As mentioned before the controls for this game are really simple, no one command makes you feel like you're stretching your hand. They also feel fluent and quick to use, for example you can run, crouch and super jump almost instantly after you crouch. You learn alot of moves as you progress through the game, all of which are useful as the levels progress.(The Main one being Talon Trot, since you can run quite fast using it)

The game is an action platformer, so you will be excepting alot of jumps and puzzle solving. Your main aim is to collect jigges scattered through out the different worlds and to fill in puzzle pieces until you get to the final boss. These are ofcourse hidden with objectives to do for the people in those worlds.

There are also boss battles in the game, which are quite fun and challenging (especially the last battle >_>)! Later on you progress to a quiz type scenario where the game asks you to remember things from your adventure. I.E Music, characters names, jiggy locations, trivia, etc. Which is more fun than it sounds, because you have to do this whilst crossing a giant gameboard over lava! so it gets intense!

Another feature I forgot to mention above is the ability to visit the shaman Mumbo Jumbo, if you have enough Mumbo Tokens he will transform you into a variety of things which include; A Washing Machine, a Pumpkin, a Bee and more.

Sound: The music in this game, couldn't be made any better. Each levels theme song sounds and feels like it fits, with the music changing slowly as you progress deeper around Grunty's lair. The sound effects for when the characters talk also fit them and it adds something nice, instead of just reading the text.

Story: Again very simple, the witch Gruntilda who lives on top of the mountain in her lair, finds out that she isn't the most beautiful person and instead that person is Banjo's sister Tooty. So she proceeds to kidnap Tooty and steal her beauty to use on herself. So as Banjo with help from Kazooie you have to traverse the maze of her lair and save your sister, defeating the Witch in the process.

The Negatives:
- Camera Angle can be a Pain
- If you collect 99 notes in a level, then leave, you don't just have to find one, you have to get them all again.
- One of the levels presents a much harder challenge than the others.
- it doesn't exactly tell you how and where to get each jiggy.
- Stop N Swap items you can't get without cheating.
- Some levels have no Mumbo Jumbo and you can't pick what you transform into.

Overall i'd give this a 9/10 for being challenging, but with a few annoying parts and the camera not helping, it stops it from being a perfect 10 in my eyes.

If you want to know more about this game, let me know and I can post some shocking stuff as well as the reasoning behind the mystery known as Stop N Swap.

^Banjo-Kazooie is awesome. Banjo-Tooie is even better. I've researched every aspect of the games development more or less, I found the story of Project Dream far more interesting than Stop N Swap.

Finally 100% the first one a few months back, Rusty bucket bay can die in a fire. I need to finish the second one xD

Banjo and Conker are the best games ever. Fact.

Yeah, back when Rare didn't make Kinect games. It's a shame that a great platforming franchise died when they went to Microsoft.

Another review time, i've been thinking about this one long and hard. So I decided to not do an N64 Platforming game (though those are my favourite) and choose something else I love, Timesplitters.

These games were made the 2000's and were very underrated, owning all 3 of the trilogy myself, I can tell you they only got better with each game. So i'm going to review the peak that was Timesplitters: Future perfect.

Gameplay: The gameplay is reminiscent of Goldeneye on the N64, except this time you have 2 analog sticks which helps greatly with aiming and moving. You can swap guns using the left D-pad (on PS2) and each gun has a secondary and primary fire. I.E Plasma Rifle, shoots with primary and shoots a grenade launcher as a secondary fire.

You also get a nifty device called an Uplink, which allows you to view objectives, lift things up and change the settings of the game. This comes in helpful with alot of puzzles throughout the course of the single player (This feature isn't in multiplayer)

It also features a few boss battles scattered through out the game, which are challenging and on the harder difficulties down right impossible for newer gamers. It also features splitscreen co-op so you and buddy can take on the Timesplitters together.

Not only that but the game features alot of multiplayer modes from "Capture the Bag" to the standard Team Deathmatch and variants of that. One of the more entertaining ones is "Virus" in which one player starts off with the virus, then has to infect others by simply touching them. It's fun with a friend or two, especially turning weapons and the map off.

This game has a ton of replay ability not only in the Arcade mode, which see's you take on different objectives in a time limit, but the better you do, unlocks you extra characters and weapons. (my personal favourite challenge being the one where you have to brick in windows, in the time limit to unlock bricks as weapons for the multiplayer) The campaign also unlocks characters for doing it on the harder difficulties.

Fear not, because the Multiplayer has bots too, so even if you don't have a friend round, you can put on bots (with adjustable difficulty) and try crazy games types out. I forgot to mention above that you can change the bots to whoever you want and you can also change pretty much all the setting for each gametype and you can customize the weapons too. (If you want a Fire Extinguisher only Deathmatch, you can)

Sound: Usually i'd just put that the music is good and it can't be improved. during the campaign i'd this is true, however the music in the multiplayer levels can get repetative, but just like Timesplitters 2, you can change the music to whatever you like so that's all good.

Story: The game begins in 2401 when the space marine, Sergeant Cortez, is leaving the space station that he destroyed at the end of TimeSplitters 2. His ship crash lands on the future Earth and two fellow marines greet him. Sergeant Cortez follows his squad of marines through the valley and battles unknown masked figures and TimeSplitters. Cortez is then tasked with following the signatures in the past by time travel thought to be caused by the TimeSplitters. He then goes on a mission to go back in time to find a way to stop the TimeSplitters race from being created.

The characters are funny and the plot is well written (even though it's physically impossible). You'll find yourself growing attached to Cortez, his bouts of humor making you laugh. Especially when he has to interact with other characters, one inpaticular is a James Bond parody called Harry Tipper, you play through a level with him and Cortez infiltrating a Bond Villain-esque style secret lair.

The Negatives:
-Lack of Proper online
-Custom Soundtrack would be nice
-Some of the challenges could be easier
-Storyline whilst written well, paradoxes on the first level.

Overall I'd give it a 9/10, with the fact this game was released before proper online was introduced, so ultimately I can't grade it a 10.

Decided to replay the entire Mass Effect trilogy from start to finish this weekend just from scratch. Started last night due to having to clean the apartment and dinner with the grandparents, aunt and uncle. Not off Eden Prime yet but once I get off it shit will get real.

I can play one and two, but everytime I see three, I have Vietnam-esque flashbacks about the pre-dlc ending that puts me off D:! Good luck to you though. I remember the first game was horrible for figuring out where you have to go and what not, I still love the second one and Garrus <3

Mass Effect never really did it for me. I only really played the first one but really the only aspect I enjoyed was the conversations/dialogue system. The gameplay was rather meh and the story didn't pull me in at the point I stopped playing it (don't know where, but it wasn't that far in in the games defense). May give it another chance down the line though.

Currently, the only game I've been playing is Disgaea 4 and I love it (of course, or else it wouldn't be my eleventh favorite game of the new millennium). I'm going the extra nerdy mile and keeping records of everyone's stats at various points in the game, then ranking the members based off those numbers. It's really fun to see how the team improves over the course of the game and how the rankings switch up. I've only done two rankings so far and while it's a long process, I enjoy doing it.

I'd recommend Mass Effect 2, I like you wasn't entirely engrossed in Mass Effect, I gave the second one a chance and fell in love with it. It really tugs at your emotions at some points and well i'll not spoil anymore.

Decided to buy the Defiance video game after watching and enjoying the first episode of the Sci-Fi series. The game is 'okay' I suppose. Nothing special but enjoyable.
