Cruiserweight Championship
Buddy Murphy vs Cedric Alexander (c)
This will be a good start to the show, wanted to put it on the main card, but put it here last minute. Buddy Murphy has shown a surprising amount of promise since joining 205 Live, with him having some great matches on the show and I think it is time to give him a test on a PPV to start it off with him and Alexander on the Kickoff show. The build will continue what has been going on over the past while, with Buddy Murphy turning heel and wanting a title opportunity. He was denied one from a “weight gain” but has since went back to the 205 weight limit. So, to get the attention of Rockstar Drake Maverick and the champion, in mine, he targets Alexander’s best friend, Mustafa Ali. This includes a backstage attack on him after Cedric Alexander wins a main event match, which is seen on the big screen. He proceeds to promise “It’ll keep happening unless I get my title match” and instead gets a number one contender’s match against Mustafa the next week where he wins after multiple Murphy’s Laws (his finisher) in a row. This will showcase a story of a meanstreak vs heart and will the obsessed Buddy Murphy take the title or will Cedric Alexander prove why he is the (heart or soul, I forgot) of the Cruiserweight Division.
Winner:
Cedric Alexander with a Lumbar Check
And hopefully, afterwards, Buddy Murphy vs Mustafa can be a feud on 205 Live, and Cedric can take his next title challenger.
Main Card:
Match 1:
Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match:
Ember Moon vs Naomi vs Peyton Royce vs Ruby Riott vs Charlotte Flair vs Asuka vs Sasha Banks vs Bayley
After multiple Qualification matches, these are the ones that are seen as worthy of attempting to be the second ever Miss Money in the Bank. The build-up works like your average MITB ladder match, with each wrestler having their own motivations. For Peyton Royce, her and BBF Billie Kay (who sadly failed to qualify) had formed a new “Fabulously Iconic Friendship” with Carmella and want the briefcase to be “matching besties” (we need them to be annoying, mmk?) Charlotte Flair, losing her rematch, wants another chance at gold. Naomi, after her Battle Royale win people forgot about, wishes to continue the momentum which has been lost. Etc, Etc, Etc.
(If Charlotte is hurt, then either Sonya or Mandy Rose takes her place)
Winner:
Asuka, last knocking off Sasha Banks
Simply put, she can be a great babyface MITB holder who can still look strong and cash it in soon-ish. Besides, imagine her dancing around with the briefcase to scare Carmella. Naomi is a good gal in the SD Live Women’s Midcard for now, and she had her run last year. Ruby Riott could be alright down the line but right now she needs more momentum and time to really have the crowd buy into her. Peyton Royce can be a great woman with her bestie Billie Kay to help Carmella get heat as Champion. For Bayley and Sasha, just have one of them finally turn either in this match or before. The long wait has hurt them both and it is a shame as they had one of the best feuds in NXT history before and while Ember Moon is great, she is my second choice. Plus her having a stare-off with Asuka (marks out).
Match 2:
Tag Team Match
Raw Tag Team Championships
The Revival vs The Deleters of Worlds (c)
This could be a generic “I want the gold thing” but let’s have a little fun. After Backlash, the Revival have a match on Raw, win by brutalizing their opponent, and cut a promo basically saying they are tired of being overlooked. They proclaim themselves to be “The Pinnacle” of what it means to be a tag team. They say they don’t need “magic” to win and they want the gold. Then our crazy champions appear on the tron, at the Hardy Compound. They respond, talking about “the Souls” of the Revival and compare it to some comedic historical figure. The Revival snap, call their “mind-games a load of crap” and stress their goals of being tag team champions. Over the next few weeks, the WOKEN team of Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt basically mess with The Revival. Vangaurd One flies in on of their matches, trying to shine a laser pointer in their eyes as Matt Hardy laughs. Another they can lead a silly message in their locker room. Embrace the cookyness. Until finally, the week before Money in the Bank, The Revival head to the Compound and they interact with the Hardy family. They yell at Reby Hardy, taunt Wolfgang and Maxel, and finally, attack Senior Benjamin and before they severely hurt him, Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt come in and chase them off. This builds up the WOKEN Universe without needing a full-blown Deletion, they attempt mind-games, and The Revival answer back in a big way.
Winners:
The Deleters of Worlds after a Sister Abigail Twist of Fate Combo
I think we need to at least give Bray and Matt at least one successful defense on PPV, but hopefully with this rivalry, with The Revival winning matches, giving them a run for their money and even attacking the beloved gardener, they have an edge to their character which is lacking on the main roster and they can come back for the titles soon.
Match 3:
Smackdown Live Women’s Championship
Singles Match
Becky Lynch vs Carmella (c) w/IIconics
Continuing from the Women’s MITB post, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce become Carmella’s besties after Backlash, with Billie and Peyton seeing the fact “They are all better than anyone else on the roster” and them helping Carmella win the belt in the first place, that they should be friends and, two weeks after Backlash, like real life, they hold Carmella a massive celebration. Charlotte comes out (as long as she isn’t injured) and reiterates that she is in MITB and can give Carmella a taste of Irony. The three beat-down Charlotte and Becky comes out for the save. (If Char is hurt, then Becky Lynch can just stand for her friend’s honour). Then, the IIconically Fabulous trio turn their attention towards Becky Lynch, and they point out her losing streak. They say she lost her “Straight Fire” and Becky, in an attempt to prove herself, makes a challenge. Non-Title match, with Carmella, she wins, she faces her for the title and, after some failed interference from the IIconics, Becky wins by ducking a title belt shot to the head and turning it into a Bexploader into the corner for the win. Over the next few weeks, the IIconics make Becky’s life hell, and she wins the first match against Billie Kay, but with Peyton she fails. Thus, bringing the question of how can she bring back her game at the top level and stay there?
Winner:
Carmella via a Super Kick after the IIconics distract the ref when Becky has her in the Dis-Arm-Her.
This leads to a rematch for Becky next month at Extreme Rules, as Carmella had a somewhat tainted win, and still adds the layers into the story, “Can Becky recapture her magic?” and “With the IIconics and Carmella together, can they keep a deathgrip on the title?” Because Carmella is at least a great character, although annoying at times. This protects her rough in ring ability a little and can add to the heat.
Match 4:
Singles Match
Bobby Lashley vs Kevin Owens
With his on-again and off again best friend in Money in the Bank, Kevin Owens looks to get even with Bobby Lashley. But first, the stupid interview with Bobby Lashley, doesn’t go down the way it, okay? Instead, the interview focuses more on why Bobby Lashley came back to WWE? There, he brings up that he left WWE after he had an injury after failing to win the WWE Championship. We use that big loss as the reason he left. The company lost faith in him and he was released. Since then, he brings up that he focused on MMA and wrestled along the side where he grew as a person. He matured, became a better fighter, more appreciative of his opportunities and desired to make the most of them and that work was enough for GM Kurt Angle to take notice and rehire him to WWE and he wants to do one thing he never did, get to the top of WWE. No “I love my Sisters BS” just simple, I had a big loss and got hurt at a terrible time, had to get released, went away, matured, and now I’m back to not waste any more opportunities. Then Kevin Owens, wishing to avenge his loss, fires back, mocking Bobby Lashley for his “sob story.” He attacks him after a match, Powerbombing him onto the stage and him on the Kevin and Sami show, mocks him even more, forcing Lashley to come out, and just barely not get his hands on Kevin Owens and that leads to this one on one match.
Winner:
Bobby Lashley with the Dominator (Inverted Front Powerslam)
Hard not to have Bobby win. He needs his first singles PPV win after returning. Kevin Owens, given what happened at Backlash, even though he needs a win, we need to at least present him in a feud as competent compared to Lashley and a competitor.
Match 5:
Triple Threat Tag Team Match
Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match
The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) vs The Bar vs The Bludgeon Brothers (c)
Harper and Rowan are tag team champions and they call for a bludgeoning for the Smackdown Tag Team Division. The Bar and the New Day continue their squabbles between each other, and they have two matches. The first, much like real life, determine who will allow a member to enter Money in the Bank. New Day wins, and Big E and his hips that simply don’t lie will enter the match, and that leaves the high-flying New Day members left. The next is The Bar vs the New Day in a number one contenders match. Except, before a conclusion is reached, the Bludgeon Brothers enter, forcing a Disqualification, but New Day and The Bar force them off, before Sheamus and Cesaro lay out New Day to keep themselves as heels. The match is made a Triple Threat tag team match.
Winners:
The Bludgeon Brothers after a Killer Bomb (referring it to what KES calls it) on Kofi Kingston.
Match 6:
Triple Threat
Raw Women’s Championship Match
Natalya vs Mickie James vs Nia Jax (c)
Let’s take two veterans who are reliable workers, and intertwine their storyline with the Raw Women’s Champion who has a unique look and power, but is hit and miss in the ring. Last time I checked, Natalya is buddy with our MMA buddy who is surprisingly solid in the ring for her experience. Then we take Mickie James who, after her friend got hurt by the powerhouse champion, wants payback. Then adding the Submission specialists’ problems with Mickie James and Alexa Bliss, they can get Natalya in the match. The idea is that Alexa Bliss comes on Raw with her arm in a sling, showing her injury. She continues to press the whole Bully thing, but then Nia Jax doesn’t interrupt her, Ronda and Natalya do. They can basically say she had it coming to her, Ronda can threaten to break her other arm, then the heels walk away. The next week on Raw, we can have Natalya be scheduled to face against Mickie James, but the former Women’s Champion can lay Natalya before the match begins. Ronda runs down, Mickie runs away, then Nia stops them, throws Mickie in the ring, Ronda does her Samoan Drop move on her. Then the match is made with Nia Jax vs Natalya vs Mickie James, after Ronda lets Natalya have a title shot as she still wants to “have more matches so she truly earns the title.”
Winner:
Nia Jax via a Samoan Drop on Mickie James.
Hopefully the two can help elevate Nia to a solid match. But for now, I’d rather have Nia lose to someone lose a bit later. A face beating a face champion is a little off, and right now, while Mickie James is still one of the better people on the roster, she is at a stage in her career where she should be used to elevate the next generation. We can have Ronda rush out and chase Alexa Bliss away, and Natalya can shake Nia’s hand, and Ronda can simply stare at the title, smirking (or point if she feels like it).
Match 7:
Stretcher Match
Big Cass Vs Daniel Bryan
Going off that assault, we use that as a storyline injury to Daniel Bryan. He is visibly taped for his MITB qualifier against our favourite Bulgarian, Rusev, and loses on Rusev Day (just like real life except the injury is sold more). The next week Big Cass has his own qualifier against Brother Nero (Jeff Hardy) and before it, he basically unloads on Daniel Bryan, showing anger at being “embarrassed” at Backlash by a “Little man,” so he feels completely justified in attacking him, and he even takes partial credit for costing Daniel Bryan his chance at “Another Cinderella Story.” During the match, Cass throws around the US Champion, before Daniel Bryan’s music plays, and he doesn’t come out. Hardy catches him with a roll-up, advances. This genuinely pisses off Big Cass and a match is booked next week on Smackdown between the two. This time, Big Cass wins by countout, Big Booting him over the barricade, and Daniel can’t get back in the ring. The officials check on him, and Big Cass tries for another attack, which Shane interrupts, threatening to Suspend Cass for it, and Big Cass responds with saying “You suspend me, I’ll make sure the next time I see Daniel Bryan he won’t leave the arena on his own two feet.” Which inspires them to make a Stretcher Match between the two, as long as Big Cass does not touch him until the event.
Winner:
Daniel Bryan
With Daniel Bryan’s comeback story, it’d be hard to make him lose too much so far. Plus I feel as though it is possible to give Big Cass another role to build him (maybe someone’s muscle that can talk) and especially in a Stretcher Match where he can’t tap out or get pinned, this protects him a little. It's a bit of a shame as Big Cass can talk, and has potential, just he is not there yet. Daniel can hit a flying knee to knock him on a stretcher and push him past the line to win.
Match 8:
10 Man-Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Roman Reigns vs Finn Balor vs Braun Strowman vs Sami Zayn vs The Miz vs Rusev vs Big E vs Andrade “Cien” Almas vs Seth Rollins vs Jeff Hardy
For the men’s Money in the Bank, these are the ten I picked. There was a ten man MITB before, and really, it’s be different to do it again, plus we need some worthy people on this card. With the Big Dog, I will have this be the start of an official heel turn, with him after beating Joe challenging Brock, but Kurt Angle has to tell him his Princess is in another Castle and Roman goes full blown conspiracy theorist and becomes very obsessed with beating Brock Lesnar. So he sees Money in the Bank the only way he can challenge Brock “When he finally shows up.” Then we have Finn Balor who still wishes to have the Universal Title match he never got after losing it by injury, Braun who simply wants to cause destruction, then finally on Raw, Sami Zayn, who is craving a world title. Then there is The Miz, who wants to bring prestige to the WWE Championship just like he did with the IC title, Rusev who wants to win Rusev in the Bank on Rusev Day. As for, I will use the concept of a Bar vs New Day qualifier which will be on Smackdown the week of me writing this, and his partners will pick Big E as his hips don’t lie. As for Andrade “Cien” Almas, he wins a qualification match his first night and this will be a great showcase for the debuting EL IDOLO. Then we have two champions in Seth Rollins and Jeff Hardy who are looking to add gold to their collection (plus a Swanton off a Ladder, and/or a Frog Splash/Pheonix Splash would be fun)
Winner:
Finn Balor, last knocking off THE BIG DOG
While I think they stripped him of a fair amount of character over the past while, I am hoping that this can be a chance for him to build it up again. At least show the drive to get his title back. In the build-up, with the thought of a Universal Title match, he starts to smile a little less, may be replaced with a smirk. Slowly shift his character to being confident, but not over the top cocky and just use some aspects of his character from New Japan (and even NXT) which gave him appeal. Plus, we can tease him cashing in either title. Since the Universal Championship, he never got a rematch for, and the WWE Championship (as you will see in my main event) is being contested by AJ Styles, another former BC leader, Shinsuke Nakamura, a fellow NJPW allum, and Samoa Joe, an NXT rival. Both options for titles make complete sense which adds a nice layer of unpredictability. When it comes to why others don’t win. The Miz was my secondary choice, but I chose Finn as The Miz is already a star and has a feud with Daniel Bryan coming soon probably. Then Big E and Almas aren’t at the main event WWE title level yet, Rusev, I feel bad for the guy, but he needs to be seen as better than Mid-card to give him it. Sami Zayn right now needs more wins to be built up more and is in a pair with KO. Seth Rollins and Jeff Hardy are champions atm. Then for Roman…We need to build his anger and hunger. Because in this, if we pick to build off our previous events along with this, this will lead him to a turn as an official heel.
Main Event:
Triple Threat Match
WWE Championship
Samoa Joe vs Shinsuke Nakamura vs AJ Styles (c)
Let’s get this feud ended, for now, and transition into new ones. The idea is the Smackdown after Backlash, Paige and Shane are in the ring to advertise the qualifying matches for this week and next week, then AJ Styles comes out, asking out the finish that happened at Backlash. He basically doesn’t want to “end on that,” maybe they can poke fun at the freaking fact that AJ doesn’t wear a cup yet, and Shinsuke comes out. AJ tries to get his attention and Shinsuke is about to say his signature catchphrases, AJ cuts him off and basically unleashes verbally. He basically outlines that “Shinsuke, we’ve known each other since Japan, and I respected you. When I found out you joined WWE just after me, I was ecstatic, but what happened? You’re not the King of Strong Style anymore, you’re the goddman Nutcracker.” Then Shinsuke snaps, not hitting him below the belt (save that for the match if you want) and security breaks it up. Match is made a singles match at first.
How Samoa Joe fits in, is he has a MITB qualifier, but he loses by DQ, being pissed off after his loss to the Big Dog and refuses to let go of the Coquina Clutch after his opponent’s foot is on the ropes. He then goes in the office of either Paige or Shane that night and, rather than ask for a spot in MITB, says he wants to “cut the chase and go straight to the title.” But, after his actions, Shane and Paige want him to “earn it” and Samoa Joe targets Styles the next week when he is meant to go in a tag team match (Let’s say Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles vs Shinsuke and Shelton Benjamin) and AJ Styles, building up that emotional side of him, asks Shane and Paige to insert him into the match so he can get his hands on him also.
Winner:
Shinsuke Nakamura after a Kinsasha to AJ Styles, Samoa Joe was knocked out to the outside from a forearm from AJ and doesn’t get into the ring.
Ideally, Samoa Joe and AJ Styles feud as Smackdown’s secondary feud and Shinsuke faces a new challenger for a few months as Champion. With Shinsuke becoming champion, it finally validates his heel run, with the Triple Threat adding a new and exciting layer into a match which we have seen too much over the past while.
