The second time they did it with Undertaker wanting to challenge HHH even tho Taker won the year before was way better IMO. I just didn't buy HHH wanting to defend "HBK's honor" or whatever they tried to sell us for on the first match.

Triple H is a noble man and a damn good friend.

Yeah and Shawn cost him the belt so he could get the Mania match bc Shawn didn't win the Rumble which he was gonna do to challenge Taker, it was good shit IMO

But yeah I'll give you it was about the streak but it wasn't as bad as say on Raw that one year when Undertaker hadn't appeared since last 'Mania and they had a random fatal 4 way to see who'd challenge him and Punk won That feud probably woulda been EXCLUSIVELY streak shit if Bearer didn't die

I think that didn't really start til after the second Shawn match though, I know he dipped for a bit after the first one but still came back and won the title in 09 later on. 10 he only returned for the shitty Kane feud and from then on out his appearances were mostly just 'Mania related except for a few exceptions

That end of an Era match was hilarious to me. No way should they have failed to beat Taker in a cell with Shawn in the shirt and with Trips being the cell master.
