WWE Vintage Collection is a show that has been around for five years now and shows matches from WWE's huge video library. There is normally a theme each week, whether it be a PPV theme, wrestler theme, masked wrestler theme etc. and they then show a few matches that fit the theme on the one hour show. It is hosted by Mean Gene and Renee Young also now hosts it. Really enjoyable show as it allows you to reminisce and relive these classic moments. Early on in the history of the show is mainly featured on things that happened in the 70's and 80's but now it includes a lot of footage from the 90's and 00's as well.

This week was Week 1 of the cruiserweights focused on 'Underdog matches'. Main event of today's show was The Undertaker vs Jeff Hardy in a ladder match for the WWE Unified World title, from WWE Raw, July 2002. Other matches on today's show saw Triple H vs Taka Michinoku (WWF RAW, April 2000); The Rock vs The Hurricane (WWE RAW, March 2003); Rey Mysterio vs Big Show (WWE Backlash ppv, April 2003); and Zack Gowen vs Matt Hardy (WWE No Mercy ppv, October 2003).

Fun show as always and I really like the theme. Who doesn't love a good underdog story in sports and in wrestling where anything is possible they can book some great matches along that theme. Undertaker vs. Jeff Hardy is a match that I can rewatch again and again as it tells a great story. The booking in the weeks leading up to the match and to set the match up were perfectly executed and everyone wanted to see Jeff Hardy prevail. JR did a hell of a job as always on commentary hyping Jeff when he was climbing the ladder and that final spot after the match where Undertaker raises Jeff's hand was great. The Taka vs. HHH match was hilarious. Rock vs. Hurricane is fun and again they built it up well where it was believable that Hurricane could be a threat and the finish was well done with Stone Cold running interference. Mysterio vs. Show was memorable for that awesome spot post match where Mysterio was on a stretcher and Show picked it up and swung it like a baseball bat into the ring post. Gowen was all about the story and it was a nice moment when he got the PPV win.

Does anyone else watch this show? I know that it doesn't air in the US and it is a shame that it doesn't because it is a really enjoyable show.

Used to watch it, but don't have Sky Sports anymore. Enjoyed it too like that they mixed it up with classic WCW/NWA matches too and having Mean Gene as presenter is a nice touch.

I catch it from time to time when nothing is on. I used to have the OnDemand channel, and it pretty much just shows the same stuff. Awesome to see Arda Orcal's old Aftermath partner Renne (Paquette) Young alongside Mean Gene.

We don't get it in the States, so I've only seen this a couple times because sometimes it's shown before streams, but it's been awhile.

Not really. I'll switch onto it if I come across it on TV but most of the time it's just old WCW matches that I don't care about. I'm sure all those old matches are cool for some people, but for me not so much.

One of WWE's better programs all the same.

yeah i would sometimes watch it before nxt or raw, just for the old school 70's & 80's matches. No real loss anyway as i could just torrent them.

I like that they don't purely focus on WWE and instead showcase some matches from WCW, ECW and other promotions as well that they own. I am one of those that likes to see some really old matches every now and then just to see how far wrestling has come in the last few decades.

Vintage Collection and NXT are two of WWE's better shows right now.
