check the ratings thread. plenty of 6s and 7s from rational people who can look past one booking decision and enjoy a show that saw two stars created

The event was poor in my opinion. mainly because it solidified how out of touch WWE is with fans. Bray and Bryan was good and the fact that Reigns did so well in the Rumble was good, too. The event sucked in general as the RR was predictable and Batista winning wasn't what the fans wanted in general. DB wasn't in the Rumble. Orton and Cena was stale and repetitive; insomuch, that the fans chanted "this is awful." Brock and Show was okay but wasn't really a match. New and Age and Rhodes brothers was mediocre and predictable as well as short.

I'd say it kinda overall sucked

And that's not justified? It doesn't even have anything to do with DB really, it has to do with the fact that a face Batista won. Face. Batista. Who nobody wanted to win. Who was gassed on the entrance ramp, who looks like an alien, who returned two weeks prior, who is an utter waste of a WM mainevent. It could've been anyone else, Punk, Reigns, Ziggler, Sheamus, any fucking one. You don't have to be a Bryan mark for Batista's win to taint an otherwise okay event.

You know that wasn't the case. People weren't mad because Bryan didn't win, they were mad because Batista did.

You really think that if Punk/Reigns/Lesnar/Wyatt/Ziggler/etc had won, people would be the same levels of mad?

People knew Batista was winning as soon as the return vignettes started. It is far from the worst thing that can happen. I don't like him, you don't like him, people in Pittsburgh don't like him, but people on Cleveland did. And there are Batista fans out there. It's not the end of the world, and whoever takes the belt off of Batista after Mania will be getting a rub from the 2nd or 3rd biggest star the WWE has created post-AE. So it's not for nothing

Agreed 100%. It wasn't all about Bryan not winning. It was a mix of things. The fact that Bryan was belittled in general pissed everyone off, then to top it off, predictability strikes again and Batista wins! Very creative. Much like John Cena was last year.

None of that was realistic except maybe Punk.

Regardless, more people like DB than Batista and slowly but surely Batista is getting booed more. So, you're saying that because there's some Batista fans, him winning made the Rumble a great event?....

Neither was Batista a month before the event. Instead of ringing tista they should have been building one of those guys I mentioned or, better yet, Bryan.

Do you have poor reading comprehension? Batista winning was the one part I didn't enjoy, but I knew I would happen. For me, it was the one bit of bad mixed in with a lot of good.

Good:

NAO tag champs again was cool

MOTYC opening match that put Bray over like a million bucks. The match along with attacking Cena leaves Bray post-Rumble feeling like a ME ready heel

Brock was entertaining as fuck. Pussies cry because it was predictable, I enjoy every second of Bork badassery

Cena/Orton quietly put on a decent match while the crowd buried it. I love it because the fans are saying fuck Orton and Cena, we want new faces in the WWE. The crowd was a major positive and a big reason the show entertained the hell out of me

The Rumble match itself was awesome except for the aforementioned Batista win (Again, Batsita isn't my cup of tea but it is a justifiable booking decision from WWE's perspective)

Roman Reigns came out of the match as the buzz of the wrestling industry. So any 'bad' caused by Batista winning was offset for me by Reigns becoming a superstar during the same match.

not trying to change anyone's opinion that hated the show, I really don't give a shit, just saying there was reason to enjoy the show and many did, so just because some hated and were quite vocal about it doesn't mean it was a terrible event.
