‘One of a Kind’ then blasts out over the speakers to the biggest pop of the night so far, as none other than the tag team of Rob Van Dam and Jeff Hardy make their way down to the ring, ready for this big match ahead of them. Rob and Jeff show no signs of nerves as it looks to be a case of ‘been there and done that’, as Hardy and RVD slap hands with the fans in the first couple of rows before they slide into the ring and ascend to opposite top ropes. Jeff then does his ‘Extreme’ taunt and Rob does his ‘RVD’ schtick, before they wait for the arrival of the UKonnection.
Garcia: The following match is scheduled for one fall and it is for the World Tag Team Championships! Introducing first, they are the challengers, from Cameron, North Carolina and Battle Creek, Michigan, weighing in at a combined weight of 463 pounds, Jeff Hardy and Rob Van Dam!
JR: These two men competed in the first ever Tables, Ladders and Chairs match on RAW, and have held numerous World Tag Team Championships between them, but have never held them together!
King: And they have to be going in as the favourites, as they have gotten the better of the UKonnection in the past couple of weeks!
‘Rule Britannia’ hits over the speakers to big heat, as DH Smith and Paul Burchill emerge from the back, Burchill still looking somewhat shaken up after what happened minutes earlier in the UKonnection’s locker room. Smith acts as though nothing has happened as he walks to the ring in his usual demeanour, as he bad mouthed the fans before he rolled into the ring by under the bottom rope, as did Burchill. The two UKonnection members hand their titles to the referee without breaking eye contact with their opponents.
Garcia: And introducing the champions, weighing in at a combined weight of 507 pounds, from England, they are the World Tag Team Champions, representing the UKonnection, Paul Burchill and DH Smith!
JR: They have had their troubles in the past couple of weeks, but you cannot write off the UKonnection just yet!
King: They have held the World Tag Team Titles since June of last year, and although they have been retained under dubious circumstances, you cannot doubt the talent that these two young men have.
The referee then raises the belts high in the air before he shows them to RVD, Jeff, Burchill and Smith, making sure they know what exactly is at stake. The referee hands the titles to Garcia as she then leaves the ring, as this highly anticipated contest is just moments away from commencing!
WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
TAG TEAM MATCH
ROB VAN DAM and JEFF HARDY vs. the UKONNECTION (PAUL BURCHILL AND DH SMITH)
After a decision amongst the two teams and a huge ‘RVD’ chant, it was decided that the Saturday Night Main Event opponents in Rob Van Dam and Paul Burchill would start off this heavily anticipated contest. The match begins with RVD and Burchill approaching each other in the centre of the ring as they engage in a collar and elbow tie up, as RVD gets the advantage by backing Burchill into the corner, before the referee calls for a break. RVD lets go, as Burchill quickly nails RVD with a cheap slap to the face! RVD looked straight at Burchill as he looked to hit him with a right hand, only for Burchill to duck under it and hit RVD with right hands of his own, backing Mr. Monday Night into the centre of the ring, before Burchill goes to whip RVD into the ropes, only for Van Dam to reverse it and whip Burchill into the ropes. RVD then manages to leap frog over an incoming Burchill, before he hits the incoming World Tag Team Champion with a huge Spinning Wheel Kick. Burchill springs straight back up to his feet, only for Rob to whip Burchill into the corner as he hits Burchill with two consecutive Shoulder Thrusts, before Rob does a Backflip to head back into the centre of the ring, before he charges forward and hits Burchill with another Shoulder Thrust in the corner!
The crowd pops for the vintage Rob Van Dam manoeuvre as Burchill stumbles out of the corner, as RVD turns Burchill around and hits him with a Back Suplex! The crowd pops as RVD sports a smirk, as he bounces off the ropes furthest away from Burchill, before he hits Burchill with a Rolling Thunder! The crowd once again pops for the trademark move of RVD’s as Burchill has gotten barely any offence in this match apart from the slap very early on, as RVD does not go to pin Burchill, as he instead walks Burchill closer to Hardy and RVD’s corner, as RVD proceeds to hit Burchill with a Sidewalk Slam style Backbreaker. RVD leaves Burchill on his knee as he tags Jeff in with his free hand, as Jeff then slingshots over the top rope and leg drops Burchill who was still in the Backbreaker position! The crowd pops for the innovative double team move from the former WWE Champions, as Jeff climbs over Burchill for the first cover of the match in an attempt to win the World Tag Team Titles once again. 1...2...Smith barges un and breaks up the pin as he stomps on Hardy, before RVD quickly enters the ring, as Smith then goes back to the apron in his corner, having accomplished what he wanted. Burchill got up to his feet as Jeff stays on the mat after being stomped on by Smith, but when Burchill goes to lift Hardy up, he is hit with a Sitout Jawbreaker.
The crowd pops for the signature move of Hardy’s as he springs to his feet, before he bounces off of the ropes and hits a dazed Burchill with a Flying Forearm. Burchill gets knocked down but gets straight back up, only for Jeff to hit the man who cost him the WWE Championship with a Standing Dropkick. Once Burchill got back up to his feet once again, Hardy seized the arm of Burchill before he twisted it and walked over to his corner, as he tags RVD back into the action. RVD ascends to the top rope and comes crashing down with a Double Axe Handle to the twisted arm of Burchill, knocking Paul back down to the mat. RVD then lifts Burchill back up to his feet before he attempts to hit Burchill with a Northern Lights Suplex, only for the Englishman to begin to club RVD in the back. RVD fought back at Burchill with punches of his own, only for Burchill to resort to underhanded tactics, as he blatantly thumbs Rob right in the eye, as he follow it up by turning Rob around as he applies an Inverted Front Facelock, before he hits RVD with a Rolling Cutter! The crowd gives heat for Burchill’s first real offensive move of the match, as Burchill quickly goes over to his corner and tags in DH Smith, who charges into the ring and runs straight at the grounded Rob Van Dam.
Once again, Smith begins to stomp away at RVD, just like he did with Jeff earlier when he was pinning Burchill, before Smith lifts RVD up, whips him against the ropes and hits the man who returned to RAW a few weeks ago with a Powerslam. The crowd gives heat for the UKonnection now having the advantage in the match, as Smith proceeds to drive his knee straight into the sternum of RVD, which he repeats two more times. RVD then gets to his feet clutching his stomach, as Smith bounces off the ropes and then hits Rob with a Running Single Leg Dropkick! The crowd once again gave heat for Smith who simply smirked, as the son of Davey Boy Smith walks over to where Burchill was standing, as a rejuvenated Burchill is tagged back into the ring to go against the man as to whom he started of the match with. Burchill quickly lifts RVD up before he boots him in the gut, before getting him in position for a Vertical Suplex, only to Rob with a Jackhammer type manoeuvre. Burchill smirks as he looks down at Rob, but Paul does not go for the pin, as he instead bounces off of the ropes and drives his elbow into the gut of Rob Van Dam, as the World Tag Team Champions in Burchill and Smith are quite obviously targeting the sternum area of Rob.
Burchill then quickly slides RVD closer to the corner of the UKonnection, as Burchill then seizes the legs of RVD as if he was going to lock the former WWE and ECW Champion in a Sharpshooter, but he instead drives his foot into the lower stomach of RVD. Burchill then tagged his partner in Smith back into the ring so that he was the legal man, as Smith quickly got back into the ring and lifted RVD up, booted him in the gut and then got him in a Double Underhook, looking to hit RVD with a Tiger Suplex, only for a dominated RVD to manage to land on his feet! The crowd popped for RVD’s quickness and balance, but when he went back to Smith, he was booted in the gut once again, before he gets RVD in position for a Powerbomb, only for RVD to trip Smith up and then get him in a Jacknife cover! 1...2...Smith manages to kick out at the last moment from this surprise cover. RVD and Smith get up to their feet at the same time, but RVD is hit with an Atomic Drop from Smith as soon as he approaches the 2nd Generation Superstar. Smith then bounces off of the ropes and looks to hit RVD with a Lariat, only for Rob to duck under it. Smith then bounces back off the ropes, before he is hit with an RVD Superkick!
The crowd pops once again but it did not seem RVD managed to get his full power behind the kick due to the punishment endured in this match, as Smith simply backs against the ropes and walks straight back to RVD, who attempts to hit Smith with another Superkick, only for Smith to manage to duck under this attempt, as he then hits RVD with a German Suplex! RVD lands somewhat roughly on his neck as Smith smirks at RVD suffering the majority of the punishment in this match, before once RVD stirs and then gets back up to a vertical base, the son of Davey Boy Smith bounces off of the ropes and this time manages to hit Rob with a decapitating Lariat! The crowd gives a huge amount of heat but Smith does not go for the cover, as he instead drags RVD over by his neck towards his corner and once again tags in Burchill, as the UKonnection are utilizing the quick tag to perfection here tonight as they are maintaining the advantage, wearing down RVD and infuriating Jeff, who has not been able to get into the ring since the 3 minute mark of this match. Burchill lifts Rob up and places him in the UKonnection’s corner, as Burchill begins to punch away at all parts of RVD’s body. The referee backed Burchill away from the corner for he was illegally keeping RVD stranded in the corner, as Burchill backed away, not even reluctantly.
As the referee gave Burchill a stern warning, the reason for Burchill leaving without a fight was soon apparent, as with the referee’s back turned and attention diverted, Smith began to choke RVD with the tag rope! A furious Jeff ran into the ring as the referee left Burchill and went straight over to Jeff by telling him to go back to the apron, as Jeff told the referee to turn around but he wasn’t budging. Jeff made his way back onto the apron as Smith let go, covering up all evidence of the UKonnection cheating to maintain their advantage and inflict further punishment on RVD. Burchill smirks as he lifts RVD up before he whips him against the ropes, but when he goes for a Back Body Drop, RVD rolls off of Burchill’s back and gets him in a Schoolboy Rollup! 1...2...Kick out from Burchill! A shocked and frustrated Burchill ran at RVD, only for Rob to duck under and once Burchill bounced off the ropes, RVD hit him with a kick to the gut, before he went for a Snap DDT, only for Burchill to manage to reverse this by hitting RVD with a Release Northern Lights Suplex. The crowd gave a huge amount of heat in the direction of Burchill and Smith as they sensed a Hardy and RVD comeback, as a shaken up Burchill quickly walks over to his corner and tags in his partner in Smith once again.
Smith enters the ring once again and then seizes the legs of RVD much like Burchill did earlier on in the match, but unlike his partner, Smith puts his leg through and doubles RVD’s legs over each other, before he manages to turn him over and lock Rob in the move as to which Smith’s uncle in Bret Hart made famous, that being the Sharpshooter! The crowd gives a massive amount of heat for Smith locking in the move which is executed to perfection in his family, as Jeff looks to enter the ring, only for the referee once again warn Jeff to enter the ring. Jeff begins to slap the top turnbuckle in an attempt to motivate RVD, as the crowd begins to also get behind Rob by stamping their feet and clapping their hands. Smith applies more pressure on the injured back of RVD as he senses that he may very well get the UKonnection the victory and retain the Tag Team Titles as to which they have held since the Night of Champions edition of RAW in June last year, as a desperate Rob begins to crawl to the ropes and get himself and his team to safety. Smith applies even more pressure as he knows that Rob is getting closer to the ropes, but unfortunately for Smith, Burchill and the whole UKonnection yet to the delight of Rob, Jeff and the crowd, Rob manages to get to the bottom rope after being locked in the hold for just under a minute of excruciating pain.
The crowd begins to get behind RVD in his WrestleMania return, only for Smith to lift RVD up and get him in a Pumphandle slam position, looking to finish the veteran with a Running Powerslam! RVD, however, senses trouble as he knows if the move connects the match will be over, as he manages to slide off of the shoulders of Smith, who then turns around and looks to hit RVD with a kick to the gut, only for RVD to hold onto the right foot of Smith, as he then steps over and hits the World Tag Team Champion with a Mule Kick! The crowd pops as they start an RVD chant, who quickly lifts Smith up and hits him with a Slam, before he brings Smith a little closer to the turnbuckle. RVD then looks around at the crowd before he leaps up and attempts to hit Smith with a Split Legged Moonsault, only for the aware 2nd generation Superstar to lift his knees up, causing RVD’s sternum to crash into the knees of Smith with extreme force! The crowd poured in the heat as Smith looked in the driving seat once again, before he lifted RVD up, only to drop him straight back down again after hitting him with a Twisting Belly to Belly Suplex. The illegal man for the UKonnection in Burchill smirked, whilst Hardy tried his best to get behind RVD, as did the fans.
Smith then lifted RVD back up again as he turned him around and applied a Reverse Front Face Lock, seemingly looking for the move he likes to call the Bulldog Bite (which is a Dragon Sleeper). However, Smith then flipped RVD into the air, looking to hit him with an Inverted Suplex, only for RVD to show great athleticism by managing to land on his feet behind Smith. Before Smith could retaliate to this, however, RVD sprung up onto the shoulders of Smith, before he nailed Smith with a huge yet innovative Reverse Hurricanrana! The crowd gave another big pop as a ‘RVD’ chant echoed throughout the arena, as both men began to crawl to their corners, Smith having the advantage as he was closer to his corner and had endured much less punishment than RVD in this match. RVD begins to crawl to his corner as Smith manages to tag in his partner in Burchill, who quickly rushes over to RVD and takes a hold of his leg before he pulls away at it, taking RVD further away from his corner. Burchill lifts RVD up and whips him across the ropes before he attempts a Lariat, only for Rob to duck, as Burchill then turns straight into a Superkick from Mr. Monday Night, who then does a melodramatic dive and tags in Jeff!
A pumped Jeff then springboards off of the top rope after and into the ring after being tagged in by RVD, as he throws right hand punches at Burchill, backing him against the ropes, before he whips Burchill across the ropes, as he then nails him with a Flying Forearm upon his return. Burchill then sprung up to his feet only for Jeff to hit him with a kick to the gut before he got him in a Suplex position, only to drop Burchill right on his face with a Sitout Release Suplex Slam, dropping Burchill right on his face with high impact. Jeff, however, was not done, as he seized the legs of the World Tag Team Champion before he gave Burchill a Double Leg Drop straight to the midsection! Hardy then dropped down to his knees and then made the cover, looking to become a World Tag Team Champion for the seventh time and an 8 time overall Tag Team Champion. 1...2... Smith breaks up the count! The crowd gives a large amount of heat for Jeff being denied his first Tag Team title reign without his brother Matt, as Smith lifted up Jeff before he nailed the ‘Extreme Enigma’ with punches, only for a recovered RVD to enter the fray. The crowd popped for RVD’s quick recovery and save, as RVD quickly pulled Smith away, seized his head, before he brought it down straight into RVD’s huge Roundhouse kick!
Smith was unconscious upon impact as he soon dropped to the mat and to the outside of the ring. RVD, however, was not done, as once Smith had gotten back up to his feet, RVD leapt over the top rope and nailed Smith with a Springboard Crossbody, effectively taking Smith out of the contest for the time being! The crowd popped as Smith was seemingly taken care of, but this soon degenerated into heat as when Jeff went for a Twist of Fate, Burchill reversed it into a Northern Lights Suplex, as he held on for a bridging pin! 1...2...Hardy manages to kick out at the last possible second! The Texas crowd gave a big pop for Jeff managing to kick out at the last possible moment as Burchill lifted Jeff up to his feet, only to be hit with a huge Sitout Jawbreaker by Jeff! Jeff then sprung up to his feet once again as Burchill stayed standing groggily on the spot, as Jeff then hit Burchill with a Leg Feed Mule Kick! The crowd’s pop got louder as Burchill stumbles back into a seated position in the corner, in perfect position for Jeff to charge forward and nail Burchill with his signature Rope Aided Corner Dropkick! The crowd then began to go wild, as they sensed a victory for Jeff and RVD, making the cheers get louder by the second.
Burchill then got out of the corner after being hit with the huge move of Hardy’s, and once he got to his feet, he walked straight into Hardy, who this time kicked him in the gut, got him in a front face lock and nailed him with a huge Twist of Fate! The crowd went wild as RVD saw his partner on the outside dominating Burchill, as Jeff then went onto the apron and then up to the top rope, before he saw his partner RVD on the other side of the ring. The crowd began an ‘RVD’ chant as Jeff pointed to RVD, who then jumped up onto the top rope and did his signature RVD taunt on the top rope to a pop from the crowd. RVD then looked around the arena before he took a deep, calming breath, and with no DH Smith to worry about, he leapt off of the top rope and nailed Burchill with a huge Five Star Frog Splash! The crowd popped as a hurt RVD rolled off of Burchill, and before Paul had any time to recover after what had happened, Jeff then leapt off of the top rope and hit him with a huge Swanton Bomb! The crowd exploded as Jeff then climbed over for the cover, as the crowd chanted along. 1...2...3! The UKonnection have lost the titles which they have held onto so controversially since June of 2008 to Jeff Hardy and RVD!
Winners and NEW World Tag Team Champions: Jeff Hardy and Rob Van Dam!
JR: They did it! Rob Van Dam is successful in his WrestleMania return!
King: We have new World Tag Team Champion JR! Can you believe it!
JR: Bah gawd I do believe it King! UKonnection’s nine month reign at the top of the RAW Tag Team Division has come to a sudden halt!
Hardy gets up to his feet as Rob joins him, as the referee then hands Hardy and Rob their newly won World Tag Team Championships. The reunited tag team raise their titles in the air in unison as their first reign together has begun, as the crowd get to their feet and cheer like mad men at their two fan favourites winning the World Tag Team Championships from the hated UKonnection. Smith is just beginning to come around now, as he looks in the ring and sees Rob and Jeff holding what was once his World Tag Team Championship, as he leaves to the back without even looking at his unconscious partner in Burchill. Once again, Rob and Jeff ascend to opposite turnbuckles as they now raise their new World Tag Team Championships in the air, as every single championship that has been defended here tonight has changed hands, and it may be a sign of things to come for the World Title matches to come up later tonight.

We once again go to the backstage area, as we see John Cena walking in the backstage area, ready to wrestle and having his World Heavyweight Title around his shoulder, as ‘The Champ’ is greeted with a massive amount of heat from the Texans. Cena continues strolling in the backstage area before just like what happened Friday on Smackdown, he stops at a door, takes a deep breath, and then knocks. A menacing voice says to come in, as Cena opens the door, as we see Nash Miller throwing punches at a boxing bag with lightning quick speed.
Cena: Nice. That was quite impressive.
Miller: Cut the crap Cena. What do you want?!
The crowd gives a mixed reaction for Miller acting pissed towards Cena, who acts innocently and raises his arms in the air,
Cena: Calm down. I just came in here to talk about our little deal.
Miller scoffs at Cena being somewhat paranoid at the thought of Miller not going through with their deal.
Miller: I’ve said it before Cena. I don’t like you, and you don’t like me. But there is NOTHING that will stop me from getting that World Heavyweight Championship, and if an opportunity arises where it gets me that little step closer, then I’ll take it.
Cena smirks as he knows that his and Miller’s deal is still on, as he begins to leave.
Cena: Well, I guess I’ll see you out there.
Miller: Cena, as I just said, I don’t like you and you don’t like me, and I will do anything for that title. So once I help you defeat Taker tonight, *scoffs* you better watch your back, because I’m coming to get you.
Cena gulps somewhat loudly in horror as he realises that Miller will be coming after him if he retains his World Heavyweight Championship, as a mixed reaction is heard for Miller once again, with the odd smark or two adding in a pop for somewhat of a dig at the Boogeyman.
Cena: *scared* Ah, yeh. I’ll see you out there, I guess.
Cena storms out of the locker room as he gets ready for his World Heavyweight Championship match later tonight, but he seems to regain some confidence as he knows if Miller helps him, he will hold onto his World Title and be the first man to defeat Taker at WrestleMania, as a smirk then springs across the face of Cena.

We once again go to a video package, as this one starts off with John Cena back at No Mercy of 2008, where he managed to defeat Mr. Kennedy in a Ladder Match to win the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time. Cena then managed to successfully defend his World Title successfully at every PPV, including in a one on one rematch with Kennedy, the Elimination Chamber and a dream match with Batista at the Royal Rumble. The next Friday on Smackdown, Cena was seen at the Contract Signing with Mr. Kennedy as to whom he would face at WrestleMania, and to Cena’s relief, Kennedy signed the RAW contract. Cena then went to the locker room of Teddy Long and said that he would not have to defend his title at WrestleMania, but Long put instant dismissal to these claims, saying that on the night, we would witness a 10 Man Battle Royal where the winner would face Cena at WrestleMania, as Undertaker came over from RAW and last eliminated Batista (and injured him in the process) to win the right to be named Number 1 Contender. The next week, Cena organized Taker’s bike to be destroyed as he ambushed Taker backstage, and when it came to a Tag Team main event between Taker and Big Show against JBL and Cena, Taker and Cena went brawling off into the same parking lot as to where Cena destroyed the bike of Taker, as Nash ‘Blood’ Miller debuted as the two then laid out Taker before they sped off.
The next week, Miller was in the locker room with Cena, as he said that he had not come to the WWE to be Cena’s bodyguard, but rather the World Heavyweight Champion. Cena then tried to change Miller’s mind by helping him defeat Taker that night in his debut match, only for Cena to be laid out by Miller after the match. 3 nights later on RAW, both Taker and Cena showed up as Cena and CM Punk began to ambush Mr. Kennedy, as Undertaker came in for the save for his SNME tag team partner, only for the Number 1 Contenders to be laid out. Miller then went into the office of Teddy Long on the next Smackdown as he demanded that he be included in the World Heavyweight Title match for WrestleMania, which Long once again dismissed, as Miller went on even more of a mean streak, destroying SJ Reynolds, as a Main Event match between Taker and Punk went to a No Contest after the two would not stop brawling, before this time, the Champions were laid out by Kennedy and Taker. 8 days later, they battled in Madison Square Garden in the Tag Team match, as Punk pinned Kennedy, whilst Cena and Taker brawled on the outside, before Cena knocked the Undertaker out with a steel chain.
48 hours later on RAW, Rated RKO were told by Shane McMahon that they would be punished, and that was by going head to head in a tag team match against the Brothers of Destruction, which Taker and his brother Kane won after interference from Cena and Kane’s WrestleMania opponent in Umaga, as Cena and Taker went off to brawl into the crowd. On the next Smackdown and 48 hours before WrestleMania, Miller continued with his mean streak as he defeated Hardcore Holly, as Cena then went into the locker room of Nash Miller after his match and said that if Miller wanted a shot at his World Heavyweight Championship, he would have to help him defeat the Undertaker at WrestleMania, and would also have to help Cena in the star studded Eight Man Tag Team main event, to which Miller obliged to for he said that he would do anything for the World Heavyweight Championship. Barely half an hour after this confrontation and after 6 of the 8 competitors had gone off brawling, Miller came out and distracted Taker, as Cena rolled Taker up and hooked the tights, getting him the win, only for Taker to Chokeslam Miller after the match, sending a message to the World Heavyweight Champion.

Coach: And we just saw the history there between the Undertaker and perhaps the greatest World Heavyweight Champion of the last decade in John Cena, and what a rollercoaster it has been, with the introduction of Nash ‘Blood’ Miller.
Tazz: And now let’s look at the Tale of the Tape between these two men, as Cena has just about matches what the Undertaker has accomplished in a near 20 year career here in the WWE.
TALE OF THE TAPE
John Cena
WWE Debut: 2002
Age: 31
Signature moves: FU, STFU
Title History: 4 time World Heavyweight Champion, 1 time World Tag Team Champion, 3 time United States Champion
Career Accomplishments: Royal Rumble winner in 2008, Had a one year World Title reign from September 2007 to October 2008, Won three consecutive WrestleMania main events at WrestleMania 21, 22 and 23
The Undertaker
Debut: 1990
Age: 44
Signature Moves: Last Ride, Chokeslam
Title History: 6 time World Heavyweight Champion, 7 time Tag Team Champion, 1 time Hardcore Champion
Career Accomplishments: Royal Rumble winner in 2007, Is undefeated at WrestleMania (16 and 0 winning streak), the first man to hold the World Tag Team and WCW Tag Team Championships at the same time along with his brother Kane.
Coach: Now that is quite impressive from both men I must admit, but in a less than 7 year career, Cena has done something that the Undertaker cannot say he has done; and that is hold onto a World Heavyweight Championship for more than one year.
Tazz: And you have to take into account Coach that Cena didn’t even lose it, he had to relinquish it through injury.
Chimel: Ladies and gentlemen, the following match is scheduled for one fall and it is for the World Heavyweight Championship!
The crowd begins to go wild before their reaction somehow gets even louder, as ‘Rollin’’ begins to hit over the speakers, as none other than the ‘American Badass’ the Undertaker comes roaring down the entrance ramp on his Harley Davidson. Taker does a lap of the ring as he shows no sign of nerves ahead of what may very well be his last ever WrestleMania match, as he then gets into the ring, waiting for the arrival of the World Heavyweight Champion since last year in October.
Tazz: This man has had quite an impressive run, we must admit that Coach, but the Undertaker is going up against a hell of a competitor in John Cena.
Coach: Tazz, Cena is just way too quick for the Undertaker, there is no doubt in my mind and with Cena not being intimidated by Taker, so Cena will win this match.
The crowd does a complete 180 with their reaction as ‘Can’t Nobody Stop Me’ hits over the speakers to massive heat, as none other than the World Heavyweight Champion in John Cena emerges from the back with the World Heavyweight Championship still around his shoulder, his eyes fixated on the reign where his opponent for tonight and his nemesis in the Undertaker is standing, waiting on Cena’s arrival. Cena then slides into the ring and hands his World Heavyweight Championship to the referee, before Cena goes back to his corner.
Tazz: This man has held onto the World Heavyweight Championship for the past 6 months, and he has been dominant in his reign at the top of Smackdown.
Coach: And that biased GM in Teddy Long goes over to RAW and tries to find a man who he thinks can beat Cena. *scoffs* That is pathetic!
Chimel: Introducing first, he is the challenger, weighing in at 299 pounds, from Houston, Texas, he is the ‘American Badass’ and he is undefeated at WrestleMania, the Undertaker!
The crowd gives a huge pop for the Undertaker who does not even budge, as his gaze stays on the World Heavyweight Champion, as Cena stares straight back at the Undertaker, seemingly not intimidated by the menacing gaze that the Undertaker is giving him, as Cena must feel quite confident tonight with Nash ‘Blood’ Miller by his side. Neither man has budged in stature either, as they stay in their corners, focussing on their game plan for the night if they want to retain or regain the World Heavyweight Championship.
Chimel: And introducing his opponent, weighing in at 240 pounds, from West Newbury, Massachusetts, he is the current World Heavyweight Champion, the ‘Chain Gang Commander’, John Cena!
Chimel’s voice is almost inaudible in the last words of his speech due to the reaction that the crowd was giving in the direction of Cena, who finally breaks the intense stare down between himself and Taker, as he does his signature ‘Word Life’ symbol to somehow even more heat from the crowd. Cena then smirks as he walks back over to the Undertaker, who has stepped forward into the middle of the ring and is staring at Cena. The referee backs both men against the ropes, before he signals for the bell to ring to signify the beginning of Smackdown’s WrestleMania main event.
SMACKDOWN MAIN EVENT
WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
TITLE vs. STREAK
JOHN CENA vs. THE UNDERTAKER
As soon as the ring bell is heard around the arena, the World Heavyweight Champion in Cena charges forward and begins to work away at Taker with right hands, shocking the Number 1 Contender who is now backed against the ropes. Cena then attempts to whip the Undertaker against the ropes only for Taker to reverse, but when the man who is undefeated at WrestleMania goes for a Back Body Drop, Cena hits Taker with a boot to the face, as he then quickly bounced off of the ropes behind Cena and then hit Taker with a Lou Thesz Press, as he then punched away repeatedly at the skull of the Undertaker before referee Charles Robinson pulled Cena off of Taker. Once Taker got back up to his feet, Cena charged at Taker before he knocked him down with a Flying Shoulder Tackle, and once Taker got to his feet once again, a dominant Cena knocked Taker down with a massive Clothesline. As Taker begins to get to his feet once again, the World Heavyweight Champion in John Cena quickly bounces off of the ropes which are behind his opponent, as he then hits Taker with a Running One Handed Bulldog, driving Taker’s head into the mat with a lot of force. Cena wastes no time in lifting Taker up, as he then hits him with an Atomic Drop, before he once again bounces off of the ropes behind of Taker and hits him with a Throwback, and Cena has dominated the opening minute of action in this match!
The crowd gives huge heat for Taker barely being able to inflict any punishment on Cena so far, who smirks after dominating this match. Cena then lifts Taker up and whips him across the ropes, before he hits the Undertaker with a Sitout Hip Toss to Taker. Taker then gets up to his feet as Cena gets him in position for a Spin-Out Powerbomb, but Taker begins to elbow away at the head of Cena, breaking the hold. Taker then looks to get the advantage for the first time in the match by hitting Cena with a Big Boot, only for Cena to manage to duck under it, and when Taker turns around, Cena hits him with a drop toe hold, as he then looks for the STFU, only for a wise Taker to quickly crawl to the ropes before any harm is done. Cena springs up to his feet as he signals for Taker to get to his feet, and once Taker does get to his feet, Cena goes for an FU just over 2 minutes into the match, as Taker drops off of Cena’s shoulders with ease. Once Cena turns around to face Cena, he is wrapped around the throat by the Undertaker’s right hand, who looks to hit Cena with a Chokeslam, only for Cena to reverse it with a wicked DDT in mid air! The crowd gives huge heat for Cena, who drags Taker into the centre of the ring, tells Taker that he can’t see Cena, as the World Champion bounces off of the ropes and hits a Five Knuckle Shuffle!
The crowd gave huge heat for the signature move of Cena’s, but instead of going for an FU once Taker had gotten up, Cena went for another Flying Shoulder Tackle, only for Taker to sidestep, as Cena bounces off the ropes, and when he returns, he is nailed right in the head with a Big Boot by the Undertaker, who has finally gotten his first real mount of offense in this match at the 3 minute mark! The crowd pops huge for Taker getting the advantage in this match finally, but when he lifts Cena up, he is met with a poke to the eye by the reigning World Heavyweight Champion, backing Taker against the ropes nearest to the entrance ramp. Cena then charges at Taker, only for the veteran to pull the rope down, sending Cena hurtling over the top rope and onto the entrance ramp. Once Cena gets to a vertical base, Taker bounces off of the ropes furthest away from Cena, before he hits him with a No-handed Over the top Rope Suicide Dive! The crowd pops for the vintage move of Taker’s as he gets to his feet, lifts up Cena and rolls him into the ring, although his upper body is still hanging over the apron and to the outside, as Taker then gets up to the apron himself. The crowd begins to pop as they know what is coming next, as Taker connects with his Guillotine Leg Drop to Cena!
The crowd pops once again for Taker having the advantage in this match now, as he gets off of the apron and drags Cena to the outside with him, before he whips him into the barricade. Cena’s back smashes into the security wall with a sickening thud, as Taker brings Cena over to the nearby steel steps which are near the announce table and brings his head down onto the steps, before he brings him over to the announce table and bounces his head off of them. Taker then takes off the top of the RAW and Spanish announce tables, as JR, King, Carlos and Hugo leave their spot behind the announce tables, as Taker throws Cena onto the RAW announce table, as he quickly rolls into the ring and breaks the count out count that the referee is making, as Taker then rolls back to the outside of the ring. The biker gets up to the announce table where Cena is lying before Taker lifts his opponent up, looking to hit a Last Ride through the Spanish announce table! The crowd goes wild as Cena looks prone for defeat, but Cena was one step ahead, as with scenes reminiscent to what happened in the I Quit match between JBL and Cena at Judgement Day 2005, Cena BACKDROPS TAKER THROUGH THE SPANISH ANNOUNCE TABLE! There is a mixture of heat and ‘Holy Shit’ chants from the fans as the referee slides out of the ring to tend to both men, although Cena is already beginning to stir.
Cena then slides into the ring as the referee continues to check on the Undertaker, as the streak look in serious jeopardy of being shattered here tonight. Cena orders Robinson to get into the ring and make the count, as the referee and begins the slow count out, as to the delight of the crowd, Taker begins to stir at the count of 5, but it seems to be a case of too little too late, as he does not look as though he will get to the ring in time. However, at the count of 8, Taker managed to get to the apron, as Cena ordered the referee to count faster sine he was paranoid of Taker getting into the ring, and just when the referee was going to reach the count of ten, Taker found enough life to hurl his body into the ring! The crowd exploded with a huge pop, as a furious Cena began to stomp away at the body of the Undertaker, as the crowd’s reaction then turns to heat. Cena then lifts Taker up and goes to whip him into the ropes and went for a Back Body Drop, but just like when Taker went for a Back Body Drop earlier on in the match, Taker reversed by managing to hit the World Heavyweight Champion with a Swinging Neckbreaker. The crowd popped for Taker getting the advantage back in the match, as a hurt Taker holds his back but he fights through the pain and proceeds to lift Cena up.
Taker then applies an arm twist on Cena’s right arm, as Taker then attacks the twisted shoulder of Cena with shoulder blocks, as Taker then begins to make his way over to the turnbuckle with the arm twist still applied. Taker then gets up to the top rope as the crowd behind Taker begin to rise to their feet, knowing what is coming next, as Taker goes for the Old School, but Cena catches Taker in mid air and drives him down with a Spinebuster! The crowd gives huge heat for Cena reversing the unique move, as a tired Cena takes a couple of steps back from fatigue, before he lifts his opponent straight back up and whips him into the corner. Cena then charges at the Undertaker as he goes to hit him with a Body Splash in the corner, only for Taker to manage to move out of harm’s way, making Cena’s chest smack into the turnbuckle. Taker then quickly bounces off of the ropes once Cena backs out of the corner as he looks to hit him with a Tornado DDT, but somehow, Cena manages to hoist Taker up onto his shoulders, and connects with the FU! Instead of exploding with heat, the crowd are in stunned silence at Taker’s streak seemingly being over, as Cena hooks both legs for the cover! 1...2...TAKER SOMEHOW MANAGES TO KICK OUT OF THE FU! The crowd goes absolutely apeshit at the Undertaker managing to kick out and keep the streak alive, as Cena is shocked and pissed beyond belief!
A pissed off Cena begins to argue with the referee, extremely aggravated yet stunned at Taker managing to kick out of the World Heavyweight Champion’s signature move. Once Cena realizes that the referee is not going to change his mind, he quickly lifts his valiant challenger up before he kicks him in the gut, as he then bounces off of the ropes behind of Taker and he hits the Undertaker with the second Running neck snap of the match, otherwise known as the Throwback! Cena does not go for the pin as he thinks that Taker will kick out after managing to kick out of the FU, as Cena lifts Taker up and powerfully whips him in the corner turnbuckle, sending Taker out of the corner clutching his already injured back, which only gets worse as Cena then goes on to hit the ‘American Badass’ with a Twisting Belly to Belly Suplex! The crowd gets even angrier as their reaction towards Cena gets louder for every power move ‘The Champ’ connects with, as Cena lets Taker get up on his own accord this time. Once the Number 1 Contender did get up, Cena once again whipped Taker but this time it was off the ropes, as Cena looked to hit Taker with a Clothesline, but Taker managed to duck under it, and when Taker returned to Cena, the World Heavyweight Champion was then hit with a Running Leaping Clothesline! Both men were laid out, before with shades of what he did in his ‘Deadman’ persona, Taker sits up before he gets back to a vertical base!
A rejuvenated Undertaker then lifts Cena up onto his shoulders into a Pumphandle Slam position before he walks over to the turnbuckle, looking to hit Cena with a Snake Eyes. Cena, however, manages to slide off of the back of Undertaker before he rams him forward, straight into the turnbuckles. Undertaker then stumbles out of the corner as Cena hoists the man who is undefeated at WrestleMania up into a Back Suplex position, before he drops Undertaker straight into the middle of the ring as he hit him with a Spin-Out Powerbomb. The crowd gives a large amount of heat for Cena, who lets out a sinister smirk before he raises his right hand in the air, giving the crowd something more to give heat about, as Cena gives Taker the ‘You Can’t See Me’ taunt. Cena then bounces off of the ropes before he ‘dusts off’ his shoulder, before he unnecessarily flips Taker the bird and then hit ‘the American Badass’ with a second Five Knuckle Shuffle! The crowd gives big heat as Cena then signals for the end, seemingly looking to hit Taker with another FU to finish off Undertaker and the streak. Taker then begins to stir as he gets to his hands and knees and then to his feet, before he is scooped up onto the shoulders of the World Heavyweight Champion.
Once Taker is on the shoulders of the World Heavyweight Champion, however, he tries everything in his might to get down off of Cena’s shoulders, as his legs inadvertently bump into the referee, knocking the referee down. Cena is distracted by the referee going down, as Undertaker floats off of Cena’s back, before he bounces off of the ropes behind Cena, and when the World Heavyweight Champion turns around, he turns straight into a Desperation Tornado DDT from the Undertaker, which connects this time around! The crowd gives a huge pop at Taker managing to drain some of the momentum away from Cena, before in a mirror of the events that occurred in the Eight Man Tag Team match on Smackdown 48 hours ago, Cena signals towards the back, as NASH ‘BLOOD’ MILLER comes from the back! Miller races down to the ring as Taker begins to stir to his feet, only for Miller to almost take Taker’s head off after hitting him with a huge Clothesline! The crowd gives big heat as Miller lifts the Number 1 Contender straight back up, before he nails Taker with a Spinebuster! Miller then walks over to Cena and helps the World Heavyweight Champion up, as Cena smirks when he sees Miller in the ring, helping him out.
Cena then gets to his feet as Miller points to Taker, as Cena walks over to his opponent with the referee still down, before he brings Taker to his feet and holds his arms behind his back, so he is defenceless for what is to come next. Miller then looks to go for a Knockout Punch but stops when he was just about to hit Taker with the knockout blow, seemingly having a change of heart, only for Miller to reach into his boot and pull out a pair of brass knuckles! The crowd gives immense heat for Miller pulling out the brass knucks as he goes to his Taker with the huge punch, only for Undertaker to break away at exactly the last minute, causing Miller to smash Cena right in the face! The crowd gives a tremendous pop as Miller looks down, shocked at what he did, as just like what happened on Smackdown, Taker wraps a hand around the throat of Miller, but this time, he Chokeslams Miller over the top rope and to the floor, preventing any further interference from Miller! The crowd’s pop gets even bigger as they sense a win for Taker, as somehow, Cena remains on his feet, but he is barely standing, simply stumbling on his feet. Taker then walks over to the World Heavyweight Champion before he wraps his hand around his throat, before he now hits the World Heavyweight Champion with a Chokeslam!
The crowd goes insane as Taker walks over to try and get the referee to get up so he can make a pin, as the referee barely begins to stir. A frustrated and impatient Taker then gives up and walks over to Cena, before he lifts Cena up and goes for the Last Ride once again, as the referee fully recovers and gets back to his feet. Taker then looks to his the Last Ride, but before he could lift Cena up, he is given a drop toe hold out of nowhere by Cena, who then locks the Number 1 Contender in the STFU! The crowd gives a tremendous amount of heat as Taker writhes around in pain as he attempts to get to the ropes, only for Cena to pull Taker straight back into the middle of the ring once he got even remotely close to the ropes. Taker looked to be in serious trouble and looked to succumb to Cena’s STFU which would mean that the streak would be over. The crowd began an ‘Undertaker’ chant but soon stops as it looks to not be taking any effect, as Cena somewhat loosens the hold as he is in the driver’s seat and thinks it is all but over, only for Taker to find some much needed momentum out of nowhere, as he manages to crawl towards the ropes and grabs a hold of the bottom rope, making Cena break the submission hold! The crowd goes apeshit for Taker managing to get to the ropes as Cena continues to hold onto the hold before the referee reaches four, as Cena reluctantly lets go of the STFU.
Cena then raises his arm, signalling for Taker to get up, as he looks to finish the match off once again by hitting the Undertaker with the FU, but once again, Taker slides off of Cena’s shoulders. Undertaker then applies a Reverse Front Face Lock to Cena before he adds heaps of pressure around the neck of Cena, locking Cena in the Dragon Sleeper! The crowd pops for Undertaker resorting to his old submission move, only for Cena to hit Taker in the gut a few times before he manages to break away from the submission hold, before he bounced off of the ropes and hit Taker with a Lou Thesz press, as he then hit Taker with multiple punches to the temple of Taker. Cena backed off of the Number 1 Contender as he waited for the Undertaker to get up, as Cena then bounced off of the ropes behind of the Undertaker and hit him with the Throwback! The crowd gave Cena some more heat as the World Heavyweight Champion no time as he lifted Taker straight back up, before he got him in a Suplex position and hit the American Badass with a Fisherman Suplex! The crowd gave Cena an even bigger amount of heat, as Cena pointed to the top rope, signalling that he would be going up to the top rope.
Cena then goes onto the apron before he goes up to the top rope, as he waits for his opponent in the Undertaker to get back up to his feet, most likely looking to hit Taker with his signature Top Rope Leg Drop Bulldog to try and finish this gruelling match once and for all. Once the Number 1 Contender does get to his feet after the Fisherman Buster Suplex, the World Heavyweight Champion leaps off of the top rope, over for something to terribly go wrong for Cena in the process, as Taker shows incredible upper body strength as he manages to catch Cena on top of his shoulders, in perfect position for the Last Ride Powerbomb! The crowd goes apeshit once again as they all get to their feet as Cena’s eyes widen, knowing that he is in a terrible position right here to lose the World Heavyweight Championship to which he has held since No Mercy of last year, as he begins to deliver big right hands straight to the temple of the Number 1 Contender. Taker, however, does not budge after being nailed in the head repeatedly by Cena, as he hoists the ‘Chain Gang Soldier’ up even further, before he nails the World Heavyweight Champion of the past 6 months with the Last Ride! With Miller barley stirring on the outside, Taker climbs over for the cover, as the referee drops to his knees and begins to count. 1...2...3!
Winner of this match and the NEW World Heavyweight Champion: the Undertaker!
Coach: No! No! THIS CAN’T BE HAPPENING!
Tazz: The Undertaker has beaten Cena and has gone to 17-0 and is the new World Heavyweight Champion! God damn it!
Coach: Taker cheated! The referee did a slow count when he was outside of the ring and when Taker hit him with the FU and did a quick count when Taker connected with the Last Ride! This can’t be happening!
The Undertaker gets to his feet as the crowd’s reaction gets to the highest point of the night, going wild at the hometown hero winning the World Heavyweight Championship and extending the streak to 17-0, as it looks as though it will never fall. Taker graciously takes the World Heavyweight Championship and raises it up in the air whilst sporting a rare smile, as he then gets on his Harley Davidson bike, leaving Miller and Cena at the ringside area. Taker puts the World Title belt on his left shoulder before he rides back down the entrance ramp, and just before he disappears, he raises his free right arm to a pop from the crowd, before Taker takes his leave in what may have been his last ever WrestleMania match.
Tazz: The Undertaker is once again at the top of the Smackdown Mountain. God save us all.
Coach: Not even God can save us partner. Smackdown is once again in its Dark Age. DAMN IT!

As we go to the backstage area, we once again see Todd Grisham standing by, ready for an interview.
Grisham: Ladies and gentlemen, joining me at this time is none other than the WWE Champion, CM Punk.
Punk walks into shot with a smirk on his face and the WWE Championship hung over his shoulder, as the crowd greets the reigning WWE Champion with a huge amount of heat.
Grisham: Punk, you will be going one on one with Mr. Kennedy in the main event very soon. What are your thoughts on your match later tonight with Kennedy?
Punk: Grisham, sometimes, I really wonder why Vince hired you. You see, Kennedy, I saw what you had to say earlier in the night, and to be quite honest, I haven’t heard so much crap since you addressed me a couple of weeks ago on RAW.
The crowd gives heat for Punk simply making this remark about Kennedy, as the WWE Champion continues.
Punk: Kennedy, I’ll make this plain and simple. You think you will be able to get your hands on me tonight and get your hands on this WWE Championship? I also knew you weren’t the smartest guy around Ken, you are from Green Bay, but still, that’s on par with a Texan.
The crowd’s heat gets even louder for the small dig at Texas, as Punk smirks at the crowd’s reaction.
Punk: And I will put this in words that you will even understand, words that you said yourself. Kennedy, what you “fail to realize†is that, quite simply, I am better than you.
The crowd gives heat as they obviously don’t agree with Punk, who continues with what he has to say.
Punk: What you and all these stupid fans “fail to realize†is that when I cashed in the briefcase on Jeff, it was not the cheap way, it was pure intelligence, yet you wouldn’t know what that it.
Punk once again smirks as the crowd gives heat once again.
Punk: And finally Kennedy, what you “fail to realize†is that I am CM Punk, and by the end of the night, I will still be the WWE Champion.
Punk smirks as he goes to leave the shot, before he has one more thing to say.
Punk: Champion.
The crowd gives even more heat at Punk doing a Kennedy special by repeating the last word, as Punk’s smirk grows even wider as he walks away before we cut back to the arena, leaving Grisham standing there, simply looking at the camera.
***
JR: And just like with what Kennedy had earlier, CM Punk has some strong words for Mr. Kennedy.
Tazz: It really is a shame he left for RAW. CM Punk I mean. Maybe we should swap him for the Undertaker.
Coach: You bring up a great point partner.
King: What can I say; Undertaker was just too good for Cena. The show must go on, and up next, we will bear witness to the huge Rivalry Reborn Tag Team Match.

We cut to yet another video package, this one highlighting the feud between DX and Rated RKO, as it goes back to October of 2006, where Rated RKO formed to take down DX after DX cost Edge the WWE Championship in a Steel Cage match the week earlier. The two teams then went head to head at Cyber Sunday as Eric Bischoff screwed DX, but the next month at Survivor Series, Team DX won with a clean sweep of Team Rated RKO. Two months later at New Year’s Revolution, Triple H tore a quadriceps in a World Tag Team Title match between the two teams, causing the feud to come to a sudden halt. Fast forward to Survivor Series of 2008, as Edge screwed Triple H out of a victory in a Last Man Standing match, as the two then fought at No Way Out, but it went to a No Contest, leading to a match at the Royal Rumble where the winner would go to the Rumble match, but it would be a No Holds Barred match. HHH came out the victor and went onto the Royal Rumble match, as Michaels and Orton are now included in the story, as HBK eliminated both members of the Two Man Dynasty, before Edge cost Triple H the Rumble match when he was in the final two. The next night on RAW, the Two Man Dynasty defeated the Puerto Rican Nightmares before Orton announced that he would face Michaels the next week on RAW, as 4 nights later on Smackdown, Triple H beat Ken Doane in a non title match by disqualification after interference from Edge when HHH was on the verge of winning.
On RAW, the match once again went to a disqualification in favour of Michaels, after Edge once again interfered, as Edge said that he was sick of has beens like Michaels and HHH stealing the spotlight as Orton and MVP agreed, thus creating the Rated RKO Dynasty. MVP was made to compete against Triple H on Smackdown, but the match never occurred after the Rated RKO Dynasty attacked Triple H on the entrance ramp. On the same night, a Number 1 Contender’s Battle Royal took place, as Triple H was eliminated by the interfering TMD, before Edge was eliminated by Shawn Michaels, who was dressed as a cameraman! On the following RAW, Edge and Triple H had been banned from the arena as MVP went one on one with Michaels’ protégé Paul London, which MVP won. The TMD went on to ambush London as Michaels came in for the save, only to also be laid out for his troubles. On Smackdown, the Rated RKO Dynasty cut a promo on Michaels and Triple H who crashed the party, as DX officially reformed! 3 nights later on Monday night, Michaels and London teamed up to face the TMD, which the Two Man Dynasty won, but it did not go their way after the match, as they failed to assault DX, as Triple H laid out Edge and Orton, whilst HBK put MVP out of action with a Flying Elbow Drop! DX were not at the arena for Smackdown 4 nights later but Rated RKO made an appearance, saying that they would get their revenge, starting with Orton going up against HHH.
Orton and Triple H fought in the main event of the last RAW before Saturday Night’s Main Event, and after handy interference from Edge, Orton got the win after an RKO and Edge pushing HHH’s foot off the top rope, as Rated RKO ran up the entrance ramp before any further harm was done. Both teams were banned from the arena on the following Smackdown as Rated RKO then hosted DX on the Cutting Edge, as Edge and Orton completely and utterly destroyed DX after Edge hit Triple H with a Con Chair To and Orton punted Michaels in the head. 48 hours later, Rated RKO tried to weasel their way into their respective brand’s World Title matches, only for Shane McMahon to say that DX would be fine for Mania, and that Edge and Orton would have to face Taker and Kane as punishment, which the Brothers of Destruction won after disqualification after Rated RKO brought John Cena and Umaga in to ambush the BOD. As Rated RKO began to cut a promo after the match, DX made their way out from the back as HHH had a sledgehammer, as Rated RKO fled from the ring. There was an Eight Man Tag Team match on the last Smackdown between Rated RKO, Cena and Umaga against the BOD and DX, but at the end of the match, DX and Rated RKO went off brawling up the entrance ramp, as Rated RKO have nowhere to run come their match at WrestleMania.

‘Metalingus’ then begins to hit over the speakers to huge heat once we return to the arena, as none other than Edge and Randy Orton, known collectively as Rated RKO, emerge from the back and begin to make their way down to the ring for this heavily anticipated contest. Edge and Orton get into the ring as they ascend to opposite turnbuckles just like Hardy and RVD did earlier, as Orton does his ‘Destiny’ pose while Edge does his ‘Corna’ hand symbol, before the two Superstars walk to the centre of the ring and wait for DX, knowing that there is nowhere to run tonight.
JR: These two men completely destroyed both members of D Generation X 8 nights ago in Madison Square Garden, but it obviously wasn’t bad enough, as DX are going to compete here tonight!
Tazz: As Michaels and Hunter are too dumb to realize that after tonight, they will be FORCED into retirement!
Chimel: The following match is scheduled for one fall and it is a Tag Team match. Introducing first, weighing in at a combined weight of 485 pounds, from St. Louis, Missouri and Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Edge and Randy Orton, Rated RKO!
The crowd give a huge amount of heat, only for it to turn into the biggest pop of the night, as ‘Break it Down’ hits over the speakers, meaning the arrival of D Generation X, Shawn Michaels and Triple H! Michaels and Triple H mean business here tonight as the crowd soon begin a huge ‘HBK!†chant for the hometown hero in Shawn Michaels, who continues to walk down the ramp along with Triple H. The two do not do their usual introduction as they mean business here tonight, but they do end up doing their DX crotch crop, causing pyro to explode from the ring posts.
Chimel: And introducing their opponents, weighing in at a combined weight of 280 pounds, from Greenwich, Connecticut and San Antonio, Texas, they are Triple H and Shawn Michaels, D Generation X!
Coach: These men are poor excuses for human beings, and act as children day in, day out! I can’t wait to see Rated RKO destroy them right here tonight!
INTERBRAND TAG TEAM MATCH
A RIVALRY REBORN
RATED RKO (Edge and Randy Orton) vs. D GENERATION X (Shawn Michaels and Triple H)
It looked as though mentor and protégé would start off the match in Triple H and Randy Orton, but once again, an almost deafening ‘HBK!’ chant arose throughout the arena, as HHH smirked, as he walked over to his corner and tagged in his best friend in Michaels! HBK smirked also as he stepped into the ring to huge cheers from the crowd, but sick of the ‘love fest’ that was going on, Orton pounced on a distracted Michaels, nailing the Texans with punches to the forehead, before he whipped him off the ropes and went for a Clothesline, only for Mr. WrestleMania to duck underneath the outstretched arm of the Legend Killer’s, and once Orton turned around, Shawn nailed Randy with a Flying Forearm, before he did his signature Kip Up to raucous cheers from the crowd for the vintage move of Michaels. Once Orton also gets to his feet, HBK hits Orton with punches of his own before he whips Randy off the ropes, as he hits the self proclaimed One Man Dynasty with a Back Body Drop, as Orton gets to his feet straight away, only to walk straight into a Shawn Michaels Clothesline. Orton once again springs to his feet almost right away, only for Shawn to hit him with a Body Slam, which normally precedes the Flying Elbow Drop. Shawn, however, does not go for the Flying Elbow Drop, as he lifts Orton up and then hits him with an Inverted Atomic Drop, as he then looks to hit him with a Vertical Suplex, only for Randy to manage to land on his feet behind Shawn, as he then hits him with a Standing Dropkick once he turns around!
Orton quickly walks over to his corner as he tags in his partner Edge, who hurriedly gets into the ring and begins to work away at a standing Michaels, as Edge bounces off of the ropes behind him, only to be hit with a Back Body Drop of his own by the Heart Break Kid, who quickly seizes Edge’s legs and looks to lock in his Heartbreaker Inverted Figure Four submission hold, only for Edge to push Shawn back into the turnbuckle with his legs. Edge springs to his feet as he charges at HBK, only for Shawn to move and do what Cena just did in his match by running into the turnbuckle sternum first. HBK then began to chop away at the chest of Edge to huge pops and ‘WOO!’s from the crowd, as Shawn then brings Edge over to DX’s corner, as Shawn then tags out to HHH. Michaels then holds the arms of Edge behind of Edge as Triple H hits the Rated R Superstar with a chop of his own, before HHH begins to work away at Edge with right hands, before he knocks him down with a Jumping Knee Drop after he ran off the ropes. The Game then looked to lift Edge up, only to be hit with a thumb to the eye as a desperate Edge quickly crawled to his corner as he tags in Randy Orton, who enters through the second rope and attacks his mentor right away, looking to get the upper hand on the man that he learnt everything from.
Orton quickly pulled Triple H in as he went for his unique Backbreaker move, only for Triple H to manage to spin out of it as he goes to hit Orton with a Clothesline, only for Orton to manage to duck underneath it, and when the Cerebral Assassin turned around, he was met with a boot to the gut by Orton, which was quickly followed by a Snap DDT, as the momentum has seemed to go in favour of Orton and Edge. Orton then began to stomp away at Triple H as the referee pulls him off, as Orton then went onto hit a grounded Triple H with a Jumping Knee Drop. Triple H then stumbles back up to his feet as Orton looked to whip Triple H against the ropes, only for when Orton went to hit HHH with a Back Body Drop, he was nailed with the Jumping Knee Facebuster by Triple H! HHH then quickly went to hit his protégé turned nemesis with a Pedigree, but after being in this predicament many times before, Orton managed to spin out of it and hit Triple H with a European Uppercut, as he quickly turned Triple H around and this time managed to connect with an Inverted Headlock Backbreaker! Orton then walks back over to his corner as he tags in Edge, who enters the ring extremely quickly as he lifts up Triple H and kicks him in the gut, as he gets him in a front face lock and connects with the Edgecution!
Edge smirks as he turns Triple H onto his back, as he makes the first cover of the match at just after the 4 minute mark of the match. 1...2...HHH manages to just kick out. Edge runs his hands through his hair as he knows that he was extremely close to winning this match, as Shawn tries his best to get behind Triple H as did the crowd, but it was seemingly to no avail as Rated RKO maintained the advantage as Edge lifted HHH up and whipped him into his and Orton’s corner, as Edge tagged out to Orton. Orton quickly went back over to Triple H and lifted him up, as he placed the legs of Triple H on the second rope, before he elevated Triple H’s upper body, so that his feet were dangling from the second rope. Orton looks at the Showstopper right in the eye whilst he is doing this as Orton smirks, as he nails his mentor with a Rope Hung Implant DDT! The crowd gives a huge amount of heat as Triple H is dropped right on his head, but Orton does not go for the pin, as he wants to inflict further punishment on the Game, as he tags back out to Edge, who enters the ring very cockily since his nemesis is unconscious on the mat. Triple H is once again lifted by the Rated R Superstar, as Edge gets him in a Reverse Front Facelock and hits him with a Reverse DDT.
Edge smirks at the downed Triple H as he drops down to his knees, once again going for the pin. 1...2...Triple H managed to kick out once again. A somewhat angry Edge manages to control his temper for the time being but is visibly frustrated at Triple H managing to kick out, and once Triple H gets up, Edge bounces off the ropes and nails Triple H with a Spinning Wheel Kick straight to the head! Edge wastes no time, however, as he looks to inflict further punishment on Hunter, as he lifts Triple H up, whips him across the ropes and hits Triple H with a sick Big Boot once he returns! Edge smirks once again as he is targeting the head of Triple H, but Edge decides that he still is not done, as he lifts Triple H and then onto his shoulders in an Electric Chair Drop position, and after walking back into the middle of the ring, Edge nails the King of Kings with an Electric Chair Drop Facebuster! Edge once again gives a devilish smirk as he turns Triple H back over onto his back, as the Rated R Superstar makes the pin. 1...2...Kick out from Triple H yet again after the mount of offence inflicted by Edge! Edge is pissed off as he smacks the mat in frustration, before he decides that he will let Randy inflict further punishment on the Cerebral Assassin.
Orton charges into the ring once again as he lifts up HHH before he attempts to whip him into the ropes, only for Triple H to reverse it with a whip of his own, as he attempts to hit Orton with a Double A Spinebuster, only for Orton to manage to land on his feet, as he quickly applies a three quarter face lock and goes for the RKO, but he is pushed into the ropes by the Game, who then nails Orton with a Double A Spinebuster when Orton returned! Triple H then throws his arms back as he does his signature taunt before he gives Randy a crotch crop, signalling for the end, and once Orton stumbled up, Triple H went for a Pedigree, but with shades of the main event of Survivor Series 2004, Randy spins out of it and hits the King of Kings with an RKO out of absolutely nowhere! The crowd give huge heat for Randy hitting his mentor with his signature RKO, as he drops down and makes the cover. 1...2...TRIPLE H GETS A FOOT ON THE BOTTOM ROPE! Randy is absolutely shocked at Triple H managing to find a way out of a loss for his team after an RKO, as Randy quickly drags Triple H away from the ropes and then pins him whilst hooking both legs. 1...2...Triple H once again kicks out! A furious Randy quickly walks to his corner and once again tags in Edge, who walks to the corner, looking for the Spear.
Edge tells Triple H to get up whilst almost foaming out the mouth, sensing an opportunity to win this match, but when Edge charges at his nemesis and attempts to hit him with the Spear, Triple H trips him up, takes the leg of Edge, and locks Edge in the Figure Four Leg Lock! Edge’s eyes widen at being stuck in the dreaded move which Triple H’s good friend in Ric Flair made famous, as the former World Heavyweight Champion in Edge tries his best to get to the bottom rope so that HHH’s hold is broken. With HHH suffering from the damage inflicted on his body throughout the whole match, he cannot prevent Edge from getting to the bottom rope as Edge is almost 100% and HHH has endured heaps of punishment in this match, as after suffering immense pain in his leg, Edge managed to back to the ropes and just managed to get to the bottom rope with an outstretched hand. Trips managed to get to his feet as he waited for Edge to get up, and once Edge managed to get to his feet on one good leg, Triple H went to hit Edge with a Spinning Neckbreaker, but Edge managed to straighten up behind the 12 time World Heavyweight Champion, before he hits him with an Edge O Matic, before he reaches over and grabs the leg of HHH in a pin. 1...2...Once again, Triple H manages to find a way to kick out!
A pissed off Edge then goes up to the top turnbuckle as he waits for Triple H to get up, and once his rival of the past 4 months gets to his feet, the Ultimate Opportunist goes for a Diving Spear, only for Triple H to manage to reverse it into a mid air Double A Spinebuster! The crowd gives a huge pop for Triple H finally managing to get some offense in, as he begins to crawl towards the corner to try and tag in a desperate Shawn, but it seems that he would not be able to get to him as Edge managed to get to Orton, but HHH managed to tag out to Shawn! Orton charged at Michaels who stayed on the apron, as Shawn then hit an incoming Orton with a shoulder to the gut, before he leapt over the top rope and got Orton in a Slingshot Sunset Flip Cover! 1...2...Orton just manages to kick out at the count of two. Orton then charges back at Shawn, but once again, Michaels gets the better of the Legend Killer, as Michaels trips Orton up and gets him in a Jacknife cover! 1...2...Once again, Orton manages to kick out at the last possible moment. Both Michaels and Orton get to their feet as Orton goes to hit Michaels with a Clothesline, only for Shawn to duck under it, go behind Orton and hit him with a Back Suplex! The crowd gave a huge pop for the Texan getting the advantage for DX as Michaels then went up to the top rope, looking to hit Orton with a Flying Elbow, only for Orton to stick his knees up, making HBK elbow smash right into the knees of Orton!
HBK writhes in pain on the mat as his elbow smashed right into the knees of Orton, as Orton gets to his feet and takes his spot in the corner whilst Michaels gets up very slowly in the middle of the ring. HBK then conveniently gets up by his hands and knees as Orton’s eyes light up, looking to hit Michaels with the Punt Kick, but at the last minute, Shawn tripped the 2nd Generation Superstar up, as he then locks Randy in the Heartbreaker submission hold! Orton writhed in pain as the crowd went wild for the Inverted Figure Four Leg Lock of Shawn’s, as Orton finds himself in a predicament that he does not want to be in! Orton tries his best to get to the ropes only for HBK to drag the man who he eliminated from the Royal Rumble straight back into the centre of the ring, as Orton won’t be able to endure the pain for much longer! Orton raises his hand to finally succumb to the devastating move of the Showstopper’s after being in the hold for barely 30 seconds, but just before Orton taps out, a recovered Edge gets into the ring and dives on Shawn, making him break the hold! The crowd goes ballistic for the move of Shawn’s being broken by an interfering Edge, who quickly lifts Michaels up and nails him with a Leg Hook Reverse STO! The crowd gives even more heat for Edge using his old signature move, as an also recovered Triple H gets to his feet, and after seeing what Edge did, he Clotheslines both himself and Edge over the top rope and to the floor!
HBK is out of it on the mat as Orton stays on the mat after enduring a lot of pain in his legs, as are Edge and Triple H are out of it on the outside after just taking the bump to the outside of the ring. The Texan crowd wills their hometown hero on, as they start a ‘HBK’ chant. Orton begins to stir as he gets to his hands and knees, only for the hometown hero to kip up to a huge pop from the fans in attendance, as once Orton gets to his feet, he is hit with a Scoop Slam by Michaels, who then walks over to the top rope, as he ascends it, most likely looking to hit Orton with the signature Flying Elbow Drop, which then connects as Shawn’s elbow comes crashing down, right into the sternum of the 2nd generation Superstar! The crowd gives a huge pop as HBK springs to his feet before he walks over to a corner as he starts to tune up the band, but as he is doing so, the crowd gives a huge amount of heat but there are some scattered cheers from the fans, AS WE SEE MONTEL VONTAVIOUS PORTER RUSHING DOWN THE RAMP! The crowd are extremely surprised at seeing the man that was put out of action by HBK and one third of the Rated RKO Dynasty back and seemingly trying to get his Rated RKO Dynasty counterparts to victory.
Shawn, however, received some warning from the fans, as Porter hops up to the apron in an attempt to distract Michaels, only for the man who put MVP out of action for a month to knock him straight back off of the apron, as he hit MVP with a huge Sweet Chin Music! The crowd erupts for the failed return save for MVP, but this distraction allowed Edge recover as he slid into the ring, only for an also recovered Triple H to enter the ring, as when Edge went to Spear the Heart Break Kid down to the mat, he was nailed with another Sweet Chin Music from Texas’ own Shawn Michaels, much like his protégé in London did in his match to Jamie Noble! Edge, however, managed to stay on his feet albeit groggily, as HHH took advantage of this opportunity, as he turned his rival since Survivor Series around, before he kicked him in the gut, locked him in a Double Underhook, before he hit him with a huge Pedigree! The crowd popped for the former 12 time World Champion managing to hit his nemesis with a Pedigree, but once Michaels saw that MVP was beginning to stir on the outside, he once again pointed to Edge and then to MVP, HHH seemed to know where his partner was coming from.
Triple H then lifted Edge up, before once he saw that Porter was getting up to his feet, HHH ran at full speed towards the ropes before he threw Edge over the top rope, right onto his Rated RKO Dynasty counterpart! The crowd pops for Edge smashing into his friend in RAW’s MVP, as Orton begins to get to his feet before the viper- like Orton looks to strike, going to hit Michaels with a huge RKO, only for Michaels to sidestep, causing Randy to smash into the turnbuckle, as HBK then throws Orton into Triple H, who hits the former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion with a Double A Spinebuster! The crowd explodes for DX laying out all three members of the Rated RKO Dynasty, as in a reverse of the events which occurred during DX’s reunion in 2006, HHH drops down to his knees and points at Michaels, who begins to tune up the band for the second time in a matter of minutes, and once Orton gets up, Michaels nails the man who he eliminated from the 2009 Royal Rumble with a Sweet Chin Music! The crowd erupts for the Heart Break Kid managing to hit Orton with the Sweet Chin Music, as HBK climbs over for the cover whilst HHH ensures no interference. 1...2...3!
Winner of this Interbrand Tag Team Match: D Generation X!
JR: And DX win it! Shawn Michaels gets the pin in his hometown, and DX have withstood MVP interference to get the win over their rivals here tonight!
Michaels gets to his feet as he and Triple H do their signature DX hi 5, before they do some more crotch crops with the fans joining in, once again making the pyro explode from the turnbuckles. HBK and HHH ascend to a top turnbuckle each and do the DX and symbol by simply crossing their arms, forming an X in mid air. HBK and Triple H smirk as this may or may not be the last WrestleMania for both men, as they begin their way up the entrance ramp. Once they get to the top of the ramp, Triple H takes his leave whilst HBK does his signature prayer on the top of the ramp, soaking in a huge hometown ovation from the Texan crowd.
Coach: And this is where we take a leave. You may as well turn your speakers on mute, as I would hate to listen to Ross and Lawler for the rest of the show.
JR *ignoring Coach*: Up next is the WrestleMania Main Event for the WWE Championship between Mr. Kennedy and CM Punk, broadcasted by yours truly, the Hall of Fame announce team of Jim Ross and Jerry ‘the King’ Lawler!

We go to the last video package of the night, this once highlighting the Mr. Kennedy and CM Punk feud over the WWE Championship. The package starts off with Mr. Kennedy winning the World Heavyweight Championship against Edge, before he lost it in a Ladder Match against Cena at No Mercy 2008, as CM Punk cashed in his briefcase on that same night and won the WWE Championship. It then fast forwards 3 months, where CM Punk stood tall on top of the ladder, holding his WWE Championship up high after defeating Jeff Hardy, before Mr. Kennedy lasted over an hour to win the Royal Rumble match and have the right to face a World Champion of his choosing in the WrestleMania main event. The next night on RAW, Mr. Kennedy showed up as he ran into CM Punk, before a huge main event was announced, where Kennedy would go one on one with Jeff Hardy, which went to a No Contest after interference from the UKonnection and Punk. 4 nights later on Smackdown, the Contract Signing took place as to whom Kennedy would face at Mania, as he decided to defect to RAW and face Punk for the WWE Title, and on the following RAW, Kennedy and Jeff teamed up to face the UKonnection in a Tag Team Title match, which the UKonnection won after Punk interference, who then laid out Kennedy after the match. Punk beat Kennedy so badly that he would not be able to show up on the following RAW, as Punk went onto beat Chris Jericho in a Champion vs. Champion match.
The next week, RAW was in Kennedy’s hometown of Green Bay, Wisconsin, as Kennedy cost Punk the return match against Jericho, getting Y2J a spot in the Money in the Bank Ladder match in the process. Kennedy then competed in the main event as he teamed alongside Hardy and RVD to face the UKonnection as the faces came out on top, before Punk came out and looked to ambush Kennedy, only for the hometown hero to hit the WWE Champion with a Mic Check. The next week on RAW, Kennedy came out to the ring to finish RAW to say a few words regarding Saturday Night’s Main Event and WrestleMania, only to be ambushed by the World Heavyweight Champion John Cena as they attempted to soften Kennedy up for the Champions vs. Challengers match, as the Champions laid out Kennedy and Undertaker. On Smackdown 4 nights later, CM Punk and the Undertaker went to a No Contest after the two would not stop brawling, as Kennedy and Cena then emerged once again, but this time, it was the Challengers who stood tall, as Kennedy laid Punk out with a Mic Check and Undertaker nailed Cena with a Chokeslam. However, once Saturday Night’s Main Event came around, the Champions stood tall once again, as Punk pinned Kennedy after a Low Blow and a Straight Edge. Just 2 nights later on RAW, almost a mirror of the events that occurred at SNME happened, as after Kennedy had beaten Regal, he was laid out by an interfering Punk, who nailed Kennedy with a GTS, standing tall at the end of the last RAW before WrestleMania.

Garcia: Ladies and gentlemen, the next match is scheduled for one fall and it is for the WWE Championship in WrestleMania 25’s main event!
Turn up the Trouble’ blasts out from the loud speakers to a mega pop, as none other than the man that survived more than one hour in the Royal Rumble for this opportunity in Mr. Kennedy makes his way down to the ring, all business for what is the biggest match of his career. Kennedy slaps hands with the fans at ringside, chewing his gum as always. Kennedy gets into the ring and does not announce himself, waiting for the ‘big match’ introductions from Lillian Garcia. Kennedy poses on the top rope for the fans before hopping down and going to the centre of the ring and facing the entranceway, ready for the entrance of his fierce rival CM Punk.
JR: And here is the man who lasted more than one hour in the Royal Rumble to get this opportunity at the WrestleMania main event!
King: And JR, he chose to come over to the superior brand and fight for the WWE Championship!
‘This Fire Burns’ then blasts out over the speakers to Wrestlemania size heat, as the WWE Champion CM Punk makes his way down to the ring, not taking his eyes off of his challenger. Punk has the championship strapped on his waist, as he then slides into the ring, gets to his feet and unstraps it. Kennedy and Punk then approach each other and talk smack, as referee Mike Chioda has to separate the two from coming to blows. Kennedy has fire in his eyes, remembering how Punk put him out for a week after destroying him with that title belt. Lillian Garcia then gets into the ring with a microphone.
JR: And this man has screwed his opponents time and time again in order to retain the WWE Championship which he is still in possession of!
King: This man cashed in on Jeff Hardy after Jeff survived 20 minutes in the Scramble match, and has managed to hold onto his title ever since, although as you said JR, it has been under dubious circumstances.
Garcia: Introducing first, he is the challenger, from Green Bay, Wisconsin, weighing in at 243 pounds, he is a former World Heavyweight Champion, he is the ‘Green Bay Loudmouth’, MR. KENNEDY!
The crowd once again give massive cheers for the challenger, who does not take his eyes off of CM Punk, reflecting on what has happened in the past couple of months with the two, on the brink of personal. Punk simply smirks at Kennedy’s intensity, who continues to look into the eyes of the WWE Champion, as keen as ever to win the WWE Championship for the first time and his second World Championship overall.
Garcia: And introducing his opponent, from Chicago, Illinois, weighing in at 222 pounds, he is the current WWE Champion, the ‘Straight Edge Superstar’, CM PUNK!
The crowd pours in the heat for the man that has been at the head of Raw for the past six months, who smirks and raises his arms to more heat from the crowd. The referee then raises the title high up in the air, before showing it to both Mr. Kennedy and Punk. He then hands the title to Garcia (who has now left the ring), as he signals for the bell to ring!
JR: And here we go! The WrestleMania main event is now underway for the WWE Championship!
WWE CHAMPIONSHIP
WRESTLEMANIA MAIN EVENT
WWE CHAMPION CM PUNK vs. 2009 ROYAL RUMBLE WINNER MR. KENNEDY
Once the bell rings the crowd raise in anticipation, as both Kennedy and Punk approach each other, once again talking smack to each other, before Punk rocks Kennedy with a vicious right hand slap! The crowd gives huge heat as Punk simply smiles as Kennedy holds his cheek, as Ken then absolutely explodes with right hands, before whipping Punk to the ropes, and once he returns, Kennedy hits the WWE Champion with a Back Body Drop. Punk’s back smacks the mat with a lot of ferocity and impact. Kennedy then lifts Punk up and kicks him in the gut, before getting him in a front face lock, going for a Vertical Suplex. Punk lands on his feet when Kennedy goes for the Suplex, however, as he then bounces off the ropes, but he is met with a Standing Dropkick from the challenger! Kennedy does not take his eyes off of Punk as the crowd get behind the winner of the 2009 Royal Rumble after lasting more than an hour, as a dominated Punk gets up, with not even one minute in the match gone. Kennedy goes to hit Punk with a clothesline only for Punk to duck under, as Punk goes for a Back Body Drop much like Kennedy did seconds earlier as Ken bounced off of the ropes, but a responsive and aware Kennedy meets Punk with a kick to the head, before swinging him around and hitting him with a Back Suplex!
Kennedy lets out a smirk for the first time in the match, knowing that he has control, as Kennedy then moves to the legs of Punk, looking for a Boston Crab. Punk, however, refuses for Kennedy to turn him over onto his stomach into the Boston Crab, as Kennedy then straightens up, before falling back, causing him to toss Punk through the air, going for the top turnbuckle. Punk holds onto the ropes to stop himself from hitting the metal turnbuckle, however, as Kennedy then gets to his feet and charges at the WWE Champion, only for Punk to give Kennedy a drop toe hold right onto the middle turnbuckle! The crowd gives huge heat for Punk’s first real impact move of the match, as Punk then steps back before charging at Kennedy and dropkicking him, once again driving Kennedy’s forehead into the turnbuckle! The crowd gives heat as Kennedy’s head for the second time bounces off the turnbuckle, this time the impact causing him to bounce off. Punk then picks Kennedy up off the mat, only to knock him straight back down again with a Scoop Slam.
The crowd gives more heat for Punk taking the advantage in the match, as Punk lifts Kennedy up, staying on the offensive. Punk puts Kennedy into a crouching position before viciously driving his knees right into the forehead of Kennedy, Kennedy’s head snapping back every time. Punk then put the Green Bay Loudmouth into a DDT position, only for Kennedy to flip Punk over his shoulders and into a Northern Lights Suplex, along with the bridging pin! 1...2.. Punk kicks out in the first cover of the match at the two and a half minute mark. Both Kennedy and Punk get up at the same time, Punk going for a Dropkick only for Kennedy to move out of the way, although Punk seems unaffected and gets up straight away. Punk charges at Kennedy but is caught with an Arm Drag, and gets hit with another as he goes for exactly the same approach. Punk used the aid of the ropes to get back up, only for Kennedy this time to charge at him. Punk goes for a Back Body Drop over the top rope, but Kennedy manages to hold onto the top rope, landing on the apron. Kennedy goes to hit Punk with a shoulder to the gut once the WWE Champion had turned around, but Punk this time was alert and managed to sidestep, as he then nailed Kennedy with a Jumping Front Kick as he was crouched over in between the ropes!
The crowd give heat as Kennedy holds his face as he gets back in a standing position on the apron, only to be clotheslined off by Punk, as Kennedy hits the mats hard on the outside! The crowd gives heat once again, as Punk waits for Kennedy to get up as the referee starts the count for Kennedy being on the outside of the ring. 1...2...3...Kennedy begins to get to his feet... 4...5...Kennedy gets to a kneeling position...6...Kennedy gets up...7...Kennedy approaches the ring, only for Punk to use the ropes as catapults as he leaps over the top rope and to the outside, hitting Kennedy with a Diving Crossbody! The crowd gives heat once again at Kennedy being hit with an impact move by Punk, as referee Mike Chioda restarts the 10 count. 1...2...Punk starts to get to his feet...3...4...Kennedy gets to his hands and knees while Punk gets to a standing position...5...6...Punk rolls into the ring and gets a shoulder up, breaking the count on his part but leaving the remainder of the 10 counts to Kennedy...7...8...Kennedy gets to his feet...9... At the last possible second, Kennedy rolls into the ring and gets a shoulder up, breaking the 10 count. Once Kennedy had dived into the ring, Punk laid the boots into Kennedy, keeping his challenger grounded.
Punk then lifts Kennedy up and whips him across the ropes, and upon arrival, Punk goes for one of his devastating Roundhouse Kicks, only for Kennedy to duck under it and then get Punk in a Backslide Cover! 1...2...Punk kicks out! The crowd gives heat at Kennedy’s second surprise pin attempt failing after a quick two count, as Kennedy takes a while longer than the champion to get up. Once both are up, Punk kicks Kennedy in the gut and once again goes to throw him across the ropes, only for Kennedy to reverse the whip by spinning out of it, and nailing Punk with a Flapjack on the top rope! Punk holds his neck once he hits the ropes, and stumbles back right into a Backbreaker! Kennedy keeps Punk in the Backbreaker position, as he lifts Punk up and then nails him with a Sidewalk Slam! The crowd gives another pop for the former World Heavyweight Champion, as Kennedy lifts up Punk and turned him around, getting him in a Reverse DDT position. Kennedy doesn’t go for a DDT, however, as he flips Punk over his head and goes for an Inverted Suplex, only for Punk to land on his feet, as he gets Kennedy in a Reverse DDT position of his own, but like Kennedy, he doesn’t go for a Reverse DDT, rather smacking Kennedy right onto his knee! The crowd once again lets out an astonishing amount of boos, as Kennedy back is crushed across Punk’s knee, which he uses so often and so efficiently. Punk then takes a breather after Kennedy’s somewhat of a surprise advantage, as Kennedy stays on the mat, favouring his back.
Kennedy is then rolled over onto his stomach, as CM Punk then lifts the right arm of Kennedy up as he wraps his legs around Kennedy’s arm, as he drops back onto his back, locking Kennedy into a very painful Armbar! The agony shows on the challenger’s face immediately, as he does everything he can to get out of the hold, reaching out with his free left arm to try and get to the ropes, even though he is unsuccessful as he is trapped by Punk right in the centre of the ring. Kennedy is seemingly helpless even with the crowd cheering him on, as Kennedy tries to inch closer towards the ropes, but it fails. Kennedy continues to inch towards the bottom, Punk doing all that he can to create as much pain as he can in the arm of Kennedy, which is a vital part of his patented Mic Check and Steamroller. However, with the crowd behind him, Kennedy inches even further towards the ropes, and even with Punk doing everything that he can to prevent Kennedy from getting there, Kennedy manages to get a hold of the bottom rope, even after he looked so close to tapping out at the start of the hold. Punk is furious and maintains the hold, as Kennedy starts the 5 count, where Punk will be disqualified if he maintains the hold for the full 5 count. 1...2...3...4...Punk breaks the hold, as Kennedy writhes in pain after being in the hold for a further four seconds than he expected. Punk rolled away from Kennedy as Kennedy held onto his right arm, as Kennedy is moved away from the ropes by Punk, who then hits him with a knee drop to the sternum. Kennedy held onto his stomach, as Punk nailed him, with a further two knee drops to the gut, as the wind is knocked out of Ken.
Punk then drags Ken back to the centre of the ring, as Punk lifts Kennedy up and gets him in a Double Underhook, before going for a Straight Edge. Punk manages to lift Kennedy up, but Ken refuses to be hit, dropping back down with his feet in the mat again, still in the Double Underhook from Punk. The WWE Champion then goes for a Standing Pepsi Plunge, but he is pushed against the ropes by Kennedy, and once he arrives back, Kennedy hits his opponent with a Step Up Enziguiri! The crowd get to their feet after Kennedy hit the Enziguiri, as both me hit the mat, Kennedy recovering from all that he has had to endure throughout the entire match. The referee starts the count as both men are knocked out. 1...2...3...Both Kennedy and Punk begin to stir...4...5...Punk gets to his hands and knees...6...Kennedy now gets to his hands and knees...7...Punk gets to a vertical base, breaking the count for him...8...9... Kennedy gets to a vertical base once again at the last possible second. Punk is furious as he dashes at Kennedy once again, only for Kennedy to sidestep and quickly pull Punk into position, before nailing a Forward Russian Leg Sweep (Stroke tbh). Kennedy then climbs over for the cover on Punk, as Chioda gets to his knees and make the cover! 1...2...Kick out from Punk! Kennedy is once again somewhat shocked at Punk kicking out of what JR calls a variation of a Reverse Mic Check, as Punk is lifted up by the former World Heavyweight and United States Champion.
Kennedy then hits CM with an Atomic Drop, before turning him around and hitting him with a Chop Block ala Ric Flair, causing Punk to go to a kneeling position, as Kennedy then went around to the front of Punk, getting him in another front face lock. Kennedy then held one arm out as he posed to the crowd, before dropping Punk on his head with a Kneeling Spike DDT! The crowd gives a huge pop once again for Kennedy, although he doesn’t go for the pin, instead lifting Punk up and getting him a Pumphandle Slam position, only for Punk to roll through and get Kennedy in a Victory Roll! 1...Punk gets a hold of the second rope with one hand...2...The referee catches Punk and stops the count, perhaps denying Punk the victory! Punk gets up furious as he approaches the referee, who points to the ropes and then grabs onto the WWE logo on his referee top, signalling that he is the official. Punk then turns around frustrated knowing that he cannot strike Chioda, and once he turns around, Kennedy is right there, doing a Feint Roundhouse Kick before turning it into a vicious Enziguiri! The crowd get to their feet for the amazing amount of athleticism from Kennedy, who desperately crawls over to Punk and goes for the cover, hooking the outer leg! 1...2...PUNK KICKS OUT ONCE AGAIN! Kennedy is very shocked at Punk’s resiliency to which King points out that that is why Punk is the champion. Kennedy then lifts Punk up again, only to be tripped up by Punk, who then flips over and gets Kennedy in a Jacknife cover! 1...2...This time Kennedy is the one to kick out!
Punk puts his hands on his head as he unsure of what will put Kennedy away as he seems to have an answer for everything including his finishers, as Kennedy gets up at the same time as Punk. Punk and Kennedy both charge at each other at the same time as both of them have the same idea and go for a Clothesline, knocking both of them out at the same time. The referee once again starts the ten count, due to both men having their shoulders on the mat. 1...2...3...4...5...Both Kennedy and Punk begin to get up after 11 minutes of gruelling action...6...7...Both men get up to their feet, as Punk is met with a kick to the gut, as Ken then tries to whip him into the corner, but Punk managed to hold his ground and then whip Kennedy into the corner as he then goes for his signature Shining Wizard and Bulldog combination, but when he went for the High Knee, Kennedy moved and Punk’s knee smashed into the metal turnbuckle! Punk’s pain showed on his face as soon as he struck the turnbuckle, as he stumbled back, right into a Reverse DDT from Kennedy! The crowd pops once again as Kennedy climbs over for another cover! 1...2...Punk kicks out again!
Kennedy is really pissed off now as he once again signals for the end, as once Punk stumbles up, he gets him on his shoulders, only for Punk to slip down the back and get Kennedy in a Schoolboy Rollup! 1...Much like earlier in the match, Punk uses underhanded tactics to try and put Kennedy away by hooking the tight...2...Kennedy now kicks out! The crowd pops and gives a sigh of relief as this time Chioda was not aware of Punk’s tactics, but Kennedy managed to keep his hopes alive of stripping Punk of his WWE Title. Punk then shows the distraught on his face, and when Kennedy goes towards Punk, he is brought into a Urinagi position from Punk, as Kennedy is then nailed with a Urinagi! The crowd gives an astonishing amount of heat as Kennedy’s wrist is then brought over as he is locked in the Anaconda Vice! The crowd gives a huge amount of heat as Punk’s deadly submission has been locked in, as Kennedy kicks his legs around in desperation and pain, looking to get his feet and torso near the ropes. Kennedy tries to free himself from Punk, but CM is unrelenting. Kennedy is visibly in pain as Punk applies more pressure on Kennedy, knowing that this chance alone is his biggest chance to put Kennedy away and retain his WWE Championship!
Kennedy continues to try to get out of the hold only for Punk to apply even more pressure, as Kennedy’s eyes eventually roll to the back of his head. Mike Chioda then drops down and lifts up Kennedy’s free arm, which falls down to the mat lifelessly. Chioda raises one finger and points to the timekeeper before he repeats this action once again as a Kennedy chant arises once again throughout the arena, only for the same result to occur in Kennedy’s arm lifelessly falling to the mat. Chioda raises another finger and points to the timekeeper before raising Kennedy’s arm for the third and final time, but just when it was about to hit the mat, Kennedy melodramatically kept his arm up, saving the match and his shot at Punk’s WWE Championship! Punk is slightly shocked and slackens his grip, as a somewhat recovered, lively Kennedy begins to hit Punk with every part of his body that he has free, using his free elbows and knees to make Punk release his grip! The crowd gives an amazing pop as both men get up, Punk’s charge at Kennedy once again backfiring as he caught by Kennedy, who goes for a Mic Check attempt, but he is pushed off by Punk before he could execute his quick but ever effective finisher.
Kennedy bounces off of the ropes for extra momentum and once he returns Punk goes to hit him with a kick to the gut, only for an aware Kennedy to once again catch the boot of Punk. The WWE Champion is then spun around by Kennedy, as a dizzy Punk is then lifted up into another Fireman’s Carry by Kennedy, only for him to hold onto the ropes, preventing Kennedy from doing any further damage. Kennedy drops Punk and then turns back around to him, only for Kennedy to be caught by Punk with a thumb to the eye! The crowd gives Punk a load of heat, as he then nails a caught off guard Kennedy with a right hand, followed by a left punch, quickly followed by a lightning quick Spinning Back Fist. Punk then shows tremendous athleticism by hitting Kennedy with a Roundhouse Kick from a very close position, as Punk then spins around but this time nails Kennedy with a Spin Kick to the gut. A crouched Kennedy seems to be in trouble, as he is pulled in by the champion and nailed with a devastating Snap DDT, as Punk repays the favour from earlier on in the match up. The crowd boos but some cheers are heard from the amazing combo, as Kennedy’s lights are out.
Punk then lifts Kennedy up after the devastating DDT instead of going for the pin and what could have been the victory, before nailing him with an Atomic Drop, and then getting him in a Double Underhook. The crowd give huge heat, as they don’t want Punk to nail either a Straight Edge or a standing Pepsi Plunge, but Punk had a different idea, as he nailed Kennedy with a Welcome to Chicago backbreaker. The crowd once again gave massive heat for the current WWE Champion, as Punk simply smirked before once again lifting Kennedy up, before getting him in position for a Urinagi once again, possibly looking for the Anaconda Vice which he used earlier on in the match! The crowd gave huge heat, as they know if Punk locks in the submission, it may be over for the 2009 Royal Rumble winner, as Kennedy only just got out of it earlier and he has suffered some more punishment since then. Kennedy, also sensing big danger, quickly hits right elbows to the forehead of Punk, trying to get him to release Kennedy. Punk’s grip isn’t exactly broken but is weakened, as Kennedy spins out of the Urinagi, as he then twists Punk around, going for the Mic Check, only to be pushed into the ropes and then nailed with sick right Roundhouse kick to the face upon arrival by Punk (unlike earlier when Kennedy was able to dodge it)!
The crowd gives massive heat as Kennedy is out immediately upon impact, as Punk once again slyly smirks, as he lifts Kennedy up and viciously whips him into the furthest turnbuckle. Punk then lifts Kennedy up to the top rope, as Punk soon follows onto the second rope. Punk nails Kennedy with various right hands, as a groggy Kennedy is then forced into a Double Underhook once again on the top rope, as Punk looks for an Inverted Pepsi Plunge! The crowd gives huge heat, as Punk wastes no time and leaps off, but Kennedy held onto the rope, causing CM Punk’s unexposed and previously damaged knees to crash into the mat! The crowd gave a huge pop at Kennedy seemingly taking the advantage once again in the match, before Kennedy gets a standing position on the top rope. Kennedy subsequently leaps off the top rope, looking for the Kenton Bomb on a prone Punk, but Punk moves and Kennedy’s unprotected back smacks the mat! The crowd give heat at Punk’s quick recovery and Kennedy’s downfall, as both men are laid out on the mat after what has been an astonishing main event at Wrestlemania 25! The referee begins the 10 count, and after 5 counts, Punk begins to get up, as Kennedy then gets up at the count of 8, continuing the gruelling but very exciting contest.
Punk nails Kennedy with a right hand, causing the crowd to boo once Punk hit it, only for Kennedy to reply with a right hand of his own, making the fans cheer. This action was repeated several times, Kennedy getting the advantage after blocking a right hand of Punk’s and nail him with consecutive punches. Kennedy seemingly took the advantage in the match again, only for Punk to hit Kennedy with another cheap thumb to the eye, causing Kennedy to be temporarily blinded. The referee questioned Punk for his underhanded antics again, but it is obvious what Punk’s objective was, getting the advantage back in the match. Kennedy, still partially blinded, stumbled around, right into Punk, who lifts him up into a Standing Fireman’s Carry, as Punk then nails the Go To Sleep! The crowd erupts in heat, as Punk climbs over for the cover on Kennedy. 1...2...KICKOUT FROM KENNEDY!! The crowd erupt as Punk is shocked at Kennedy kicking out at one of finishing moves, as he wastes no time in lifting Kennedy up and getting him in a Double Underhook once again, but Kennedy saw this coming, as he got Punk this time in a Standing Fireman’s Carry, and this time he connected with the Steamroller (Standing Green Bay Plunge)!
The crowd once again erupts, but after the damage that Kennedy has endured in this match, he cannot capitalize, as he also collapsed on the mat due to fatigue. Kennedy begins to crawl towards a still unconscious Punk, as Kennedy then dramatically raises his arm before dropping over Punk’s sternum, as the referee once again drops to his knees and makes the cover! 1...2...PUNK GETS A FOOT ON THE BOTTOM ROPE! The crowd are absolutely livid as Kennedy holds his head, unsure of what to do next to put the WWE Champion away. Kennedy then lifts the champion up, but Punk hits Kennedy with a spin kick to the gut, as he follows with a Face Buster! The crowd once again gives heat for Punk, as he drags Kennedy closer to the corner, which leads to Punk climbing up to the top rope, his back facing Kennedy (in position to give his challenger Kennedy a Moonsault). Kennedy, however, recovers quickly from the Face Buster, as he run to the ropes and hits them, which causes Punk to crotch himself on the top rope! The crowd gives a big pop, but Kennedy isn’t finished, as he grabs Punk’s head, and nails him with a Neckbreaker off the top rope!
The crowd gives a huge pop for Kennedy once again, who rests on the ropes so he can recover from the damage endured throughout this match. Punk is beginning to stir, getting to his hands and knees in an attempt to get back to his feet, only for Kennedy to charge at Punk and roll through, getting Punk in a Schoolboy Rollup! 1...2...KICKOUT FROM PUNK ONCE AGAIN! The crowd can’t believe Punk’s resiliency, who shows that he won’t drop the WWE Title that he has held for six months without a fight. Kennedy shakes his head once again as he lifts the champ up, before going for the second Steamroller, only for Punk to slip off of Kennedy’s shoulders and hit him with a dropkick to the back. Kennedy stumbles into the corner, before he turns around so his back is resting up against the turnbuckle. Punk then charges, nailing Kennedy with a signature Shining Wizard, this time connecting unlike earlier in the match when Kennedy managed to dodge and Punk blasted his knees against the unforgiving turnbuckle! The crowd gave big heat, as Punk then got Kennedy in a headlock, as he then charges out of the corner, nailing Kennedy with a Bulldog!
The crowd gives huge heat as Punk raises his arms in the cockily and almost narcissistically, as Punk then prepares himself for Kennedy’s recovery. Kennedy begins to get up to his feet, only to be once again pulled up by Punk into a Standing Fireman’s Carry, looking for his second GTS in a matter of minutes, but this time, Kennedy does the same as Punk and slides off of his shoulders, as Punk turns around, right into a shocking Mic Check from the challenger out of absolutely no where! The crowd rise up to their feet as they absolutely erupt, as Kennedy this time wasting no time climbs over Punk and desperately hooks both legs of the WWE Champion CM Punk, hoping that this will be it. Referee Mike Chioda drops to his knees once again, as he begins to make the cover that could make Kennedy champion once more. 1...2...PUNK HAS NOT MOVED...3! The crowd get remain on their feet and give an even larger reaction than the previous following the Mic Check as Kennedy goes onto his knees with near tears in his eyes, becoming World Champion for the second time in his brilliant yet very short career!
Winner of this match and the NEW WWE Champion: Mr. Kennedy!
JR: HE’S DONE IT! MR. KENNEDY HAS DONE IT, HE HAS WON THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THE FIRST TIME!
King: What a moment this is JR, Mr. Kennedy is now a two time World Champion after only three and a half years in this business. Congratulations Ken!
JR: And as much as I hate to say it King, I have to commend the now FORMER WWE Champion CM Punk on a fabulous display, but it just proved not to be enough, as Kennedy came out the victor.
King: That’s very true JR. These two endured more than twenty minutes of total nonstop action, and this will go down in the history books as one of Wrestlemania’s greatest ever matches, which is a huge accomplishment for both of these men!
The crowd erupt into a massive ‘KENNEDY’ chant, as Kennedy pulls himself up, the referee taking the title off of Lillian Garcia and handing it to the new WWE Champion. Kennedy thankfully takes the title off of Chioda before kissing the centrepiece of the title. Kennedy then goes up to the top rope with his title, before raising it up high in the air for the whole world to see. Kennedy then repeats this action on all of the turnbuckles, getting an extraordinary pop from the fans. Whilst on the middle rope, Kennedy straps on his newly won title belt onto his waist, before signalling for his microphone to descend, unlike before the match.
King: And here we go, the announcement of the new champion, Mr. Kennedy!
JR: Kennedy lived up to his word King, he put in a –
King: KENNEDY!
JR: As I was saying King, he put in a spectacular effort here tonight and he lived up to his word, becoming the new WWE Champion.
The microphone begins to go down as Kennedy grabs it, before signalling for the crowd to quiet down. The crowd obliges as Kennedy smiles, before putting the mic to his mouth.
Kennedy: Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the winner of this match, and the NEW WWE Champion, from Green Bay, WISCONSIN.... MISTERRRRR. KENNNEDYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
The crowd once again erupts for the new champion, as they let out a resounding ‘KENNEDY’ after he announces himself as the winner. Kennedy then puts the microphone back to his mouth, before...
Kennedy: KENNEDYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!
‘Turn up the Trouble’ then blasts out from the speakers as Kennedy throws the microphone back up to the rafters, smirking all the way as he hops out of the ring and begins to walk up the entrance ramp, successful in the main event at Wrestlemania 25. The Houston crowd continue going wild, as we then cut to JR and the King for their final message.
JR: What a night: WHAT A WRESTLEMANIA KING! New champions, a DX reformation was successful and Matt Hardy is now known as Mr. Money in the Bank!
King: However, we didn’t go too well on the Interbrand side of things JR, as Raw lost their inter brand title as Paul London and Jamie Noble lost to the impressive Evan Bourne and we lost in the Brand Supremacy match!
JR: It is a shame King, but however, Rob Van Dam was successful in his Wrestlemania return after ending the nine month Tag Team Title reign of the UKonnection with Jeff Hardy!
King: As much as I hate to say JR, Smackdown had an incredible night also, the Undertaker going 17 and 0, winning the World Championship in the process, Cade and Jindrak won the WWE Tag Team Titles, and Texas’ own JBL defeated his former bodyguard, the Big Show in a brutal Street Fight!
JR: It was an amazing night all around King, and on behalf of me, Jerry ‘the King’ Lawler, Jonathan Coachman and Tazz, we thank you for tuning into Wrestlemania 25!
The camera then cuts back to Mr. Kennedy, who is up at the top of the entrance ramp, before he unstraps his title belt, and putting it in his hands. Kennedy then raises the belt high above his head, which is the closing image from Wrestlemania XXV!
