Final 5/25 WWE SD! Rating: Holiday Weekend Show Increases
This past Friday night's edition of WWE Smackdown finished with a 1.84 cable rating, which is up slightly from the previous week's 1.79 cable rating.

Decent number. Better than what they have gotten lately.

Raw Ratings Delayed, Expect Low Number
As if the WWE did not already expect low numbers because of Memorial Day, it looks like they are going to be even lower. The ratings will be released tomorrow, but two big cable networks have already announced ratings success.

Game one of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals, featuring the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat, is their stiffest competiton. Also, the History Channel garnered just under 14 millions viewers for the debut of their new show, "Hatfields and McCoy's." Do not be surprised if Raw's rating is below the 2.9 they received a few weeks ago.

Damn. I'm predicting about a 2.7 or 2.8. The competition will start dying out soon though with the finals coming to a close and tv shows go on break.

Not too bad for Smackdown, still should be doing better especially considering they are using some top names from RAW. Just like RAW though they need to promote an actual midcard to keep people interested for the whole show.

14 million viewers for a History program! US viewers definitely love their history, very patriotic.

It does help that the Hatfield and McCoys special was about as awesome as you can get. It is only a three part series that ends tonight though, so WWE won't have that to worry about anymore.

Wrestling will always lose in competition unless a big return is happening or a huge main event or some sort of shoot like Punk did. People can watch wrestling later in the night (most of the time I do). I'm a huge Heat fan so no shot in hell would I miss a game to see an average Raw most likely. I will say this I watching NCAA basketball title game, but the minute I heard twitter saying huge Lesnar chants, I decided to make sure to put on Raw. WWE needs to put better main events on in my opinion to garner interest. Brodus Clay in the main event is pretty cool but Big Show isn't appealing.

I assumed that it was a regular series for the next couple of months, not too bad if it was a one off deal on Monday's.

This week's edition of WWE Raw, which took place on Memorial Day, finished with a 2.7 cable rating and took in 3.915 million viewers.

This number is down from last week's 3.04 cable rating, but the low draw was likely expected due to the holiday.

It should be noted, however, that this is the lowest number Raw has drawn since September of 2011.

Oh well, as said they went up with tough competition.

Even against tough competition a 2.7 for RAW is really weak. Going to be fun the next couple of months to see what they do to fix this issue. With three top stars suspended it is a great time to create new stars and get fans interested in them.

Can't find a ratings breakdown anywhere. If/when it goes up, I'll post it. But I'm sure you're looking for if Punk/Bryan gained or lost viewers and it lost them as said in this report below.

According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the big topic of discussion within WWE yesterday was surprisingly not the suspension of Randy Orton, but rather the low rating Raw received on Monday night, which was a 2.7 and the lowest number of the year.

The rating was hurt by several factors, namely, the debut of the History Channel show "Hatfields and McCoys," The NBA Playoffs, the fact that John Cena didn't appear on the show, and the Memorial day holiday. However, WWE officials were alarmed at the fact that the CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan match lost viewers in the second hour, and the Alberto Del Rio vs Santino Marella match took in the lowest quarter hour rating the show has seen in years.

Noone should put the blame on Daniel Bryan and CM Punk here. They should blame the booking of the show and the creative team for not booking an all round good show that makes people want to tune in to watch the show, yes the booking of that Bryan vs Punk match was good at the end involving Kane/Bryan/Punk and AJ but it isn't always like that so people aren't going to watch it all each week and so they're not gonna tune into the match considering the booking of it the weeks before. And maybe it's time to start pushing more guys like Ziggler to the top and have a variety of top Superstars that different people can enjoy watching and connect with and also book everything in the show good like you used to (every title, storyline, etc). Not just one or two things. And you cannot always rely on Cena all the time to be the only draw you have when Rock, Lesnar or Triple H aren't there but then again those guys really didn't draw ratings as it's been shown for the many weeks they were on TV.

It's simply creative and the stupid PG direction. Their biggest problem is long term booking and the failure to deliver. Like we saw with every single angle since June of last year. Blame can't go to the wrestlers as they're working with what they have/are given and trying to make the best of it.

PG has nothing to do with ratings. It comes down to how they write and book the show. They don't need blood, swear words and divas in lingerie matches to make a good show. If they booked a logical two hour show filled with storylines from top to bottom with interesting wrestlers throughout the show then fans will tune in.

If Punk and Danielson are in a match and it loses viewers, that has nothing to do with creative.

When are you guys gonna stop making excuse after excuse and admit nobody wants to see those two?

"its creative"
"Punk's title matches are in the middle of the show"
"If WWE let them have a 3 hour Iron Man match ratings would skyrocket"

Funny how when Cena loses ratings its on him, yet its another rule for the vanilla midgets.

This past Friday night's edition of WWE Smackdown drew a final 1.7 cable rating and took in 2.56 million viewers.

This is down from last week's show, which drew a 1.84 rating and took in 2.62 million viewers.

Another bad rating. Does Sheamus have enough draw power to carry the show? Imo no.
