The difference really is a mix of direction and actual pieces. I mean this same thing could have easily worked with just 7 girls. The four from NXT, Paige, and then the Bella twins. They didn't need Alicia, Tamina, or Naomi. They could have easily forced Paige and the Bellas to be uneasy partners, not friends but an alliance and worked things with those 7. Right now there are 6 girls people care about out of 9.

I personally would have preferred them bringing up all 4 on one side vs Paige, the Bellas, and Alexa Bliss
