I can already picture undertaker reversing a liontamer attempt into 'that submission move'

Crappy concept, but I would llike to see at least a few more submission matches on PPV over the course of a year.

I'd like to see Swagger get busy in one.

Wow for the first time, the WWE are going to rip off TNA with their ever stupid "Lockdown" concept and gimmick a PPV by over exposing a single match type. Way to go WWE :clap_1:

Someone already said it in this thread, but I'll say it again. People can't or just don't read. Lockdown is an entire PPV with a cage. This would be 2 or 3 main matches’ with this gimmick. Big difference.

I find it somewhat strange that they make a submissions match at the next ppv right as this story comes out. Kind of makes me doubt this story a bit, but who knows.

Am I the only one who can read properly?

submission matches for all main event matches

Which is two, maximum three. As mentioned above Stone Cold is the opposite of a submission wrestler and had that amazing match with Bret. The WWE's current crop of ME Talent would do great in these types of matches, especially guys like Jeff Hardy or Edge, as it gives them the leeway to use some hardcore spots as well.

On a side note, if they do this, why do we need another PPV created? Or a new name? Why not just use "No Mercy" as this event? The name fits already, and it already exists. Why bother creating a new event?

Well I guess there's two sides to that 'coin'.....

Besides, the submission match between Show and Cena hadn't been announced at the point this was thread was started.

you and me. and they say i dont read....:nonono:.

anyway, i have absolutely no problem if its something like world title matches only end in submission. i LOVE seeing wrestlers tap out but you know, even when some do these days, nobody gives shit cuz its been shat all over since they gave cena the STFU and made everyone tap out to it.

when was the last time you heard the fans chant "you tapped out"?

edit-

for the name, either breaking point or like mikeraw said; just give it to no mercy.

Its still overexposing a match. Is it to the extent TNA do it? Hell no. But the more you use a match type, the less valuable it becomes.

It all depends if they use it at other times during the year though. For example, the Elimination Chamber is used twice at one ppv which might seem like a bit much, but as long as they stick to just using it at No Way Out, it still has a special feel to it.

yeah but with a submission match, why do you have one? You dont have it because the booker books it. Thats the problem with wrestling now a days, these matches are becoming more and more meaningless because they are just thrown out there for no reason. The cage match, at Extreme Rules, makes sense because the cage is designed to keep people out and people in, which has been two problems for Batista. If you just do shit just to do shit, like TNA does with Lockdown, youre weakening what the match can mean.

Choke holds are the only way you can get a submission. Bibles are spread around the ring, and phone cords are allowed. There is also a weight machine....but I don't think anybody will use it
