Before Night of Champions WWE held a draft. During this draft there was some massive changes to both rosters. During the special three-hour RAW, SmackDown! and RAW had some massive shakeups to their rosters, the biggest one being SmackDown! getting the WWE Championship and RAW getting the World Heavyweight Championship. Vince McMahon also made a huge announcement saying that ECW had been disbanded and that their talent would be distributed to RAW & SmackDown! during the night. Another announcement made was SmackDown! was now going to go LIVE! on Friday Nights and they would have a new General Manager, Charlie Cosgrove. No-one really knew who Charlie Cosgrove was but he would be introduced this Friday Night, LIVE! The draft finally concluded and SmackDown! and RAW seemed to be where it all began, just them two.

Official July 4 SmackDown! Preview
SmackDown! comes to you LIVE for the first time from Anaheim, California!
On SmackDown!'s very first LIVE broadcast, we will be kicking off this new era with a bang! Shawn Michaels will be taking on a former arch rival in Randy Orton, this match is sure to have fireworks. Back at Judgment Day 2007 Randy Orton almost ended the career of The Heartbreak Kid and now HBK has a chance at revenge. Will the Show Stopper stop The Legend Killer's show? Or will Randy Orton live up to his name, 'The Legend Killer'. Tune into the very first LIVE SmackDown! to find out.
Chris Jericho has really been against the audience lately and that is why WWE.com held an audience poll on who The Ayatollah of Rock N Rolla should face out of Shelton Benjamin, Mr. Money in the Bank CM Punk or Rey Mysterio. The final results for the poll were Rey Mysterio - 38%, CM Punk - 32% and Shelton Benjamin - 30%. This week's SmackDown! will feature those two amazing athletes go one on one in the non-title match up. The Ayatollah of Rock N Rolla claimed that he couldn't care less who he faced, either way he was going to show the fans that who they cheer for, will lose.
There will be a new member of the SmackDown! brand apparently making an appearance on Friday. No word on who it is but he hasn't worked in WWE before, so there will be a new face this Friday and no-one knows who it is. 'The Big Red Machine' Kane has been on quite a winning streak lately and he would be looking to continue it on SmackDown! he is booked to face Test in a one on one match up.
All that and more as SmackDown! comes to you LIVE from Anaheim, California in the Honda Center!
