WWE SmackDown

* Michael Cole and JBL are out for commentary.

* Fandango’s set is lowered and out he comes to a big pop from the crowd, who tried to sing his theme song. Fandango danced and flirted with Lilian Garcia but she wasn’t having it.

* Santino Marella comes out and mocks Fandango. Fandango defeats Santino by pinfall.

* WWE United States Champion Kofi Kingston defeated WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett.

* Sheamus attacks Mark Henry backstage and then walks off.

* Alberto Del Rio beat Jack Swagger by pinfall.

* The Shield appears on the big screen and cuts a promo on The Undertaker. They say he’s undefeated at WrestleMania but they have never been defeated at all.

* Hornswoggle, Natalya and The Great Khali defeated Primo, Epico and Rosa Mendes in mixed tag team action.

* Big Show and Mark Henry beat Randy Orton and Sheamus in the main event.

Seems to be a fair bit of build happening here, Kofi getting a win over Barrett just shows that Kofi's winning the belt again soon. Other than that, seems like an average SD.

Looks good.

Best way to use Fandango IMO, seemed rushed and forced last week to have him close the show on the back of one huge reaction to him. Even though they put him over Jericho he shouldn't be that far up the card, give him tons of TV but not with top guys.

Hopefully theres both midcard titles on the line at Extreme Rules, been waiting for a match like that for ages. "US-Continental champ" isn't quite as catchy as Eurocontinental was though. Seems like WWE finally realised how far they'd buried Kofi and decided to exhume him for a while.

Baffling how WWE use midcard titles. Barrett loses a non-title match on RAW to R-Truth and now he loses here again. Hate how they book title vs. title matches with no build, it should be a huge event even if it is the midcard titles. A champion vs. champion match shouldn't be a throwaway match.

Sheamus vs. Henry is something that I could get into again. They had a mini feud when Henry was starting his HOP and I can see their styles working well together.

I like that they are heading towards a triple threat for the title at Extreme Rules, best way to utilise all involved.

US and IC titles have been useless since WWE stopped the brand extension. World Title is the midcard toitle now and US and IC are basic TV titles that mean nothing, basically a Hardcore title for this generation.

Show looks like shit tbh. nothing much of a build here and jobbing Swagger doesn't make the 3-way look all that promising.

Other than the mixed tag and Del Rio/Swagger matches that shouldn't have happened, this doesn't look bad at all. No Ziggler?

Looks like a semi-decent show, aside from one or two things on the card. But I now have to wonder if they plan on doing away with one of the Midcard titles, or if this was just a one off match.

Honestly doesn't seem like something I'll lose sleep over if I missed it. But when the fuck did Kofi win the US title?

That Swagger and Del Rio match was pretty fucking fantastic.

I agree I loved the story in the early part of Del Rio trying to work the arm and Swagger trying to get the leg but neither guy could successfully gain control, but then later in the match Swagger was able to work the leg. Del Rio's comeback was sweet too but during the comeback he forgot to sell the leg and I would of liked it if during his comeback he tried to weaken the arm but instead he targeted the head, which still make no sense to me. And lastly the finish was cool too with all the different counter from the armbar-to-patriot lock, back to the armbar then the finial counter into the small package was great too. I have the match rated *** - ***1/4

Oh and the main event was pretty good too.

On Monday.
