I grew up on horror movies.....figured out the formula and ruined it for myself....I know when every jump scare and fake out to jump scare is happening. Know all the tropes and cliches.

I'm a big enough fan of the genre to do that if I wanted to, but I try not to memorize it too much to enjoy it.

I do more often then not figure out who the killer gonna be when it's a mystery. They could do a better job surprising me there.

I love all these but the only part I think I disagree with is 90s, but I say I think just bc those seem weaker, I'd have to think about it to see if I liked any more and off the top of my head I'm too drunk rn lmao

90's got incredibly weak in the Horror department thanks in part to the major film recession of the era. There was a time when Summer Movies and Horror just weren't selling. As good as Scream was, it's difficult to really say anything else competed against it.
