Don’t expect a lot of “Yeet’ing” from “Main Event” Jey Uso going forward.

As evident on this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, the company has run into trademark issues over Jey Uso’s “Yeet!” catchphrase.

According to Wrestle Votes, the word and merchandising around it will no longer be associated with Uso going forward.

Nope, Once again to vague and common
So by thart logic, why can't they merchandize Yeet shirts? I'm legit curious because they made a ton of YES! Merch, apparently not trademarked tho.

They can, but people can make knock offs and there is nothing WWE could do, Essentially, it boils down to super rich company wanting someone that they make money off of. Also, WWE owns a trademark of The YES! Movement, since they clearly defined it and all. The other way is like with the Che shirt they trademark that image and it just so happened to have YES! on the back.

I think they did trademark the Yes stuff for wrestling purposes, but Bryan and them both said when he left that it wouldn't hold up if contested lol Bryan just said he chose not to do it

Copyright and trademark in United States is both easy, dumb, and hard to understand because of how at times the rule is explained

I think you're misunderstanding here, WWE isn't being told they're just not allowed to trademark it, they're being told they can't use it at all. They had to blur a 'yeet' shirt in a promo last night. So someone else seemingly has successfully trademarked Yeet or is disputing that they have

fwiw, its the one thing I wish he would rethink. i understand its the old character but the fans want to cheer it, so fighting against it is annoying. i know hes a heel tho lol
