Not really because despite being desperate you don't want to be stupid about it either. Logically getting a week off before a big match is smarter and gives him a better chance to win so don't see why it is odd to you at all.

Cena could have easily changed his mind and said if you don't want the shot now then you never want it. Now that Cena agreed to give him the extra week, even though there was no need for him to, it isn't as odd as he was lucky enough for the face to agree to the extension. It is just odd that someone would take that risk in not having the match tonight when the face could always change their mind and not grant them the match that they have no need to grant.

Yeah he could have but from Cena's stand point who is all honorable and shit he of course is going to go along with it so Punk has no excuse.
