Ziggler has been losing to Brodus Clay for a month now, in kayfabe there's no way he should be near the main event.

Not taking anything away from the guy, I'm just trying to look at it from that perspective.

*sigh* I know, I know, but I can always keep the hope alive that WWE's inconsistent storylines and forgetfulness of any kind of history can help me out.

True enough. As I said a few posts before, its not like creative ever has long term plans these days. Ziggler could be facing Punk (if he wins tonight) for the belt tomorrow and they'd expect nobody to notice how inane that would be. :

The difference being that Bully Ray loses to legit wrestlers like Storm, Devon and Aries. One of those guys was the number one contender to the World title and the other two are champs in their own right.

True enough. As I said a few posts before, its not like creative ever has long term plans these days. Ziggler could be facing Punk (if he wins tonight) for the belt tomorrow and they'd expect nobody to notice how inane that would be. :

I love how Ziggler went from losing the US Title to Zack ryder to competing for the wwe championship next month. But seriously Ziggler is incredibly talented. He cant at least get a legit feud

He's in this holding pattern where whenever he's needed he'll get the call. Want to get Brodus more over? Give him Ziggler, who sold like a champ to do just that. Say you don't have a challenger ready for Punk or Bryan gets hurt? Who do you call? Ziggler. Now that Masters is gone, he's the best seller in the company and they recognize that as a special talent of his. That's why he's not the champ at the moment. He's called on to make others look better. I'm sure his time will come. You just have to be patient.

Aries is barely X-Division, and once he drops that belt he'll be moving into the main event scene. Just because he carries the title doesn't make him X-Division to me, he's clearly above that. Besides, it was the story of the match, and Bully played it well, even tapping out right away like the little bitch bully that he's made out to be.

Only if the loss is to Aries. I'm serious there is no shame in losing to Austin Aries especially when you destroyed his back
