I agree he was in and out, thats proven fact but at least he put in the time. Warrior has issues, there is not denying that but at least he knows his place. I hate how everyone gangs up on him when he's never really been a loudmouth. He keeps things to himself and likes living in peace. He's not trying to start buzz like Kevin Nash. Still don't think he's a flash in the pan, but biggest stars ever no way in hell. He's not Hogan, Rock, Austin, Taker, Macho Man, HBK, Hart, or Triple H.

Except that he has been surely you heard about all his mindless video postings and the war of words with Dibiase a few years back. The reason the likes of Dibiase attack Warrior is because of the lack of respect he has shown for the business in his shoot interview he metions how Warrior was rude to airline stawdesses and fans also. The idea of the Warrior back in the day was that he was happy to except the benefits of being a top WWF star but didn't put the effort in to earn more.

The reason DiBiase attacked Warrior is because of his jealousy that it took him 20 years to do what Warrior did in 5.

I don't get how you can criticise his style of wrestling when nearly everyone worked that way in the 80's, stiff, few moves and kept basic, and a slow pace for most (not Warrior). There were very few standouts, Flair, Steamboat and Rude, maybe Savage.

Warrior was nothing awful for his time period, if you think he was bad then you may as well write off most the roster from that era. Andre is revered for some reason yet his matches were x10000000 worse, like Khali trying to work while OD'ing on Xanax.

Don't really get your point on Cena his run hasn't been during a boom period for the business for the past decade there has been a decline in interest in wrestling and WWE's ratings and ppv buyrates have mostly been down during that period.

Point is Cena is one of the WWE's most commercially successful guys in a long time. There was a story a couple years ago talking about how Austin was the all time leader in terms of merchandise sales. Hogan used to be second, but Cena had passed him on the ladder. Additionally, Cena headlined the biggest grossing Wrestlemania cards of all time. People like to piss all over Cena and that's fine if you don't dig what he does. But the guy has been good for business.

The WWE has grown since Hogan's day or even Austin's, so one could claim that it's comparing apples to oranges between each era. But the simple truth is, the WWE has tried plugging in different guys at the top, and they all aren't the same. If things were as simple as WWE being able to make people love a wrestler simply by booking them a certain way, they'd do it. A performer has to bring something to the table. Warrior didn't bring wrestling ability. But he had a character and look that got him over well, and yes other wrestlers willing to help get him over.

Warrior was nothing more than a product of WWF marketing and a good look during a time when thats was all you needed.

DiBiase talking about how Warrior was a dick to somebody isn't anything new, almost everyone who worked with him has talked about him being a cocknugget.

Bret tells the worse story, but I don't know whether to question it's validity.

Yeah well Hogan and Austin are number one and two in terms of biggest stars ever and both had more to offer than Cena.

Yeah, like those massive ego's.

Tell me, has a certain Cena ever left the company because he felt slighted over something as stupid as "doing a job"?

Hogan did? Hogan is an example of charisma over ring ability catapaulting a man to success in wrestling. The guy was not a great wrestler by any stretch of the imagination. He could put on entertaining enough matches, but nothing any more special than what Cena does. In terms of promos, hard to say really. These days, all that stuff is so tightly scripted. Who knows, maybe his improv would be a worse hot mess than Hogan's, hard to say. But Hogan had some pretty coked out, nonsensical rants as his promos in his day.

Going back to the actual character of the men behind the personae, I think if we were to judge worthiness by how they treated others backstage or by how good a person they were, that damn "hall" would be pretty empty. Hogan has let on to the type of politicking he's done. He's talked on occasion about how he'd been told guys like Piper would be the next big thing and how he'd express skepticism. Wasn't he the same guy Flair was known to sabotage a guy or two in the ring as well, I believe. Austin, as far as personal character goes, is a wife beater. Pretty high on the list of pieces of shit if you ask me. But at least he was one of the boys.

The story of wrestling seems to be one of a lot of rotten people doing a lot of rotten shit to each other.

I think in the end, it's about whether someone did something well enough that people were willing to cheer for them and buy their crap. If a guy has shit skills, but still somehow cons people into wanting to watch them, well I guess it's only suiting that happens in a business that's a work. Goes back to the carnival roots of conning people for their money.

Hell Warrior might have been a good carnie in that sense. He got the hell out of town with his money before everyone caught on to the con.

In an interesting or purely coincidental twist, WWE.com has just ranked Ultimate Warrior at #2 behind Steve Austin as to who they would love to see return for one more match.

Warrior returning would be such a mark out moment and I think he would get a decent pop as long as the place isn't in some low level city.

And your point is? I said they were the two biggest wrestlers in history never said they didn't have big egos. Also Cena proved at ER this year that he has some ego himself.

If Warrior came back now he would bomb imo. Many of todays fans wouldn't even know who he is.

How did he prove he had a giant ego? By beating Brock?

A bookers pencil dictates who has massive egos these days?

I hate that 'people wouldn't know who he is' theory.

When I was a kid, I wasn't a dumb fuck. I started watching in like '98 but still knew who Andre, Jake Roberts, etc werr, and it's even easier now with the internet and Youtube.

Bret Hart and Kevin Nash were gone for a decade plus and still got big pops on return, what makes you think Warrior wouldn't.

Yeah, I gotta' agree with this. If it helps, Warrior was also on that All Stars video game a couple years ago, but I think even if the kids didn't know who he was at first, they would go nuts just when they saw him running to the ring like a maniac. And then of course the adults in the crowd would go nuts even if they weren't fans as a kid.
