WWE Money in the Bank 2017
The event kicked off with the first ever women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Like its predecessor the woman who managed to unhook the briefcase. Would earn themselves a shot at either RAW Women’s or Smackdown Women’s Championship. Whenever and wherever the holder of the briefcase wanted over the next twelve months. Alexa Bliss, Bayley, Carmella, Dana Brooke, Emma, Naomi, Paige and Sasha Banks all took part in it. However, in the end only one woman could be crowned the victor of the match. It turned out to be Paige’s time to shine as she was who retrieved the briefcase.

Next Sami Zayn challenged the “Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe©. For the latter’s WWE United States Championship. He would end up being successful after he got the pin on his opponent with a Blue Thunder Bomb.

In the third match, Mickie James© successfully defended the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship. In a singles match against Nia Jax with the Mickie-DT.

After that the trio of John Cena and the Usos© retained the WWE Intercontinental and WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championships. Against the trio of Finn Balor, Chad Gable and Jason Jordan (American Alpha). When Cena got the better of Jordan and pinned him with the Attitude Adjustment.

The fifth match saw Charlotte Flair© attempt to defend the WWE RAW Women’s Championship. Against the “Lass Kicker” Becky Lynch. Despite all the underhanded tactics of the defending champion it wasn’t enough. As Lynch trapped her in the Dis-Arm-Her for the submission.

Next Dean Ambrose© put the WWE Championship up for grabs against Bray Wyatt. The champion and challenger both knew each other very well from several past encounters. Ambrose trapped Wyatt in the Bulldog Choke and the latter passed out in the hold.

In the penultimate match eight men, four from Monday Night RAW and four from Friday Night Smackdown. Waged war in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, where the winner would earn a future shot at either the WWE or Universal Championships. At a place and time of the victor’s choosing, of course the match was carnage from the get go. After around fifteen minutes both the ring and the ringside area were littered with the broken bodies of seven of the eight participants. Leaving only one man standing and that was Chris Jericho, who proceeded up the ladder and got the briefcase. Effectively crowning himself the victor in the very match he helped create in the first place.

Finally, it was time for the main event a bloody and brutal last man standing encounter, for the WWE Universal Championship. Between the reigning and defending champion aka Seth Rollins©, and the “Prize Fighter” Kevin Owens. The two men brawled in the ring, outside of the ring, in the backstage area, even through the crowd. After a hellish half hour of back-and-forth madness, it came time to end things. Rollins gained some revenge on Owens by putting him through the announce table. Which seemed to be enough to result in the former answering the ref's ten count. However the winner of the Men's MITB Ladder match aka Chris Jericho, the Y2KO stablemate of Owens made an appearance and smashed the briefcase into the head of Rollins. Then proceeded to drag him up and hit a series of Code Breakers which rended Rollins unconscious, and resulted in Jericho winning the match.

After the match while the new WWE Universal Champion Chris Jericho(c) was celebrating a limping Kevin Owens entered the ring. He asked Jericho what he was doing, he would have won the match. Y2J replied by hugging Owens only to then kick him in the balls and hit with the belt.

Y2KO is over

ROAD TO GREAT AMERICAN BASH

Universal Championship
Chris Jericho(c) VS Kevin Owens VS Seth Rollins

"Y2J" Chris Jericho won the 2017 Men's Money in the Bank ladder match and he didn't wait too long to cash it in. As he would cash it in during the main event to become the new WWE Universal Champion. Not only that but he also turned his back on his Y2KO teamate Kevin Owens after the match. Monday Night RAW GM Mick Foley proceeded to announce a huge triple threat match for the gold as the main event of Great American Bash.

RAW Women's Championship
Paige(c) VS Becky Lynch

At MITB Becky Lynch captured the WWE RAW Women's Championship from Charlotte Flair(c) to become the new champion. After Flair went down with an injury after the match, this left the new champion without a challenger.

Then the winner of the first ever women's MITB ladder match aka Paige, would launch a sneak attack on Lynch and cash in the contract. To become the new champion which set up a rematch for the gold at Great American Bash.
