At the 2019 WWE Royal Rumble PPV, the "Empress" and current WWE Smackdown Women's Champion Asuka(c). Successfully retained her title by defeating Charlotte Flair in singles action, from here she also retained against Naomi and Sonya Deville in matches on Smackdown. She would be confronted by Flair who demanded another shot, which Asuka accepted. On the condition that if Flair loses she won't challenge for the title again while Asuka was champion, which Flair agreed to rather annoyed.

ALEXANDER WOLFE & KILLIAN DAIN W SANITY(C) VS GOOD BROTHERS
The final match announced for WWE Spring Stampede was a championship rematch from the WWE No Way Out ppv. Just this time around the roles of defending champions and challengers were reversed. As the duo of SaNiTy members, Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain(c) defended against the former champions the Good Brothers.​

Alexander Wolfe & Killian Dain with SaNiTy(c) beat the Good Brothers to retain the WWE SD Tag Team Championship - Dain pinned Gallows.
Pre-recorded promos from the trio of Kofi Kingston, Randy Orton and Sheamus aired ahead of their match.
Kofi Kingston with New Day beat Randy Orton and Sheamus to become the N1C to the WWE Championship. He ended up getting the win by pinning Orton after hitting the Trouble in Paradise.

Breezango beat Glorious & Gable(c) and Heavy Machinery to capture the WWE RAW Tag Team Championship. Fandango got the better of Chad Gable with a Falcon Arrow which led to the pin.

The 2019 WWE Royal Rumble pay per view event saw Finn Balor capture the WWE Universal Championship. It also closed out with Seth Rollins winning the 2019 edition of the Men's Royal Rumble match. The two victories set up a possible rematch from Summerslam 2016 for the title and Rollins made it official. At Spring Stampede the Balor Club beat the Shield in a six man tag team match.​

The current WWE Champion aka Daniel Bryan(c) had been on quite the run as champion in 2019. First he defeated the "Phenomenal" AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble, then successfully retained the title inside the elimination chamber. Finally at Spring Stampede he beat both Kane and The Miz in a triple threat match. At the same event Kofi Kingston beat both Randy Orton and Sheamus to become N1C to the title and match was made official ​

Asuka began the year as the WWE Smackdown Women's Champion she even beat Charlotte Flair at the Royal Rumble ppv to retain the title. Getting the win back from WrestleMania 34 in 2018. At Spring Stampede Flair got one last chance at the title while Asuka was champion and got the win. SD GM Paige announced the two would meet at WrestleMania 35 one final time in a two out of three falls match.​
