ROAD WWE MONEY IN THE BANK 2017 P1

First Women’s MITB Ladder Match
It was revealed that for the first time ever in the history of the WWE Money in the Bank ppv. A women’s variant would happen, at the 2017 edition of the titular pay per view event. Like the original version the whoever unhooked the briefcase and won the match. Would earn themselves a guaranteed Women’s Championship match any time and place over the next year. The field of competition would consist of eight women, four from Monday Night RAW, and four from Friday Night Smackdown.

From MNR the quartet of Carmella, Dana Brooke, Emma and Naomi were confirmed for the match. Meanwhile from FNS the four women were revealed to be Charlotte Flair, Paige, Summer Rae and Tamina Snuka.



2017 Men’s MITB Ladder Match
The second match announced for the Money in the Bank pay per view. Was the 2017 edition of the annual men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Where the victor would earn a shot at either the Universal or WWE Championships. At a time and place of their choosing over the next twelve-month period. It would consist of a field of eight men, four from MNR and four from FNS.

From Monday Night RAW it would be Chad Gable, Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns and The Miz. While the blue brand would be represented by AJ Styles, WWE ICC Bryan Danielson, Dolph Ziggler and Finn Balor.


Universal Championship
At Bad Blood both Dean Ambrose and John Cena won a Number One Contender battle royal. As a direct result of them eliminating each other at exactly the same time. Meaning that both of them were crowned the N1C to the Universal Championship. That very same night the reigning Universal Champion aka “King of the Universe” Chris Jericho took part in the double championship main event.

Unfortunately, the match didn’t end with a winning team, but rather a double count out. However, Jericho would proclaim himself as a wounded winner of some great contest. MNR GM Mick Foley took issue with this and decided to put the champion in his place, by announcing a triple threat title match for MITB 2017.


WWE Championship
Shinsuke Nakamura debuted at WrestleMania 33 and not only that captured the WWE Championship in his first match as part of FNS. He would retain the title at Backlash as result of a time limit draw against the former champion AJ Styles.

The “Viper” Randy Orton became the N1C to the WWE Championship. By way of winning a fatal four-way match at WrestleMania 33. He would then defend his prize at Backlash against Dolph Ziggler. Setting up a huge first time title match for Money in the Bank 2017. ​

RAW Women’s Championship
Bayley aka the reigning and defending WWE RAW Women’s Champion. Captured the gold at Spring Stampede earlier in the year and had retained the gold at WrestleMania 33 and Bad Blood. While Natalya Neidhart earned, a future title shot by winning a fatal four-way match at Bad Blood. Setting up a meeting for the gold at MITB.​

Smackdown Women’s Championship
Becky Lynch finally managed to win the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship for a second time. She did so by defeating then champion Alexa Bliss. In a match that had the stipulation that if Lynch lost, she wouldn’t be able to challenge for it again.

Bliss would go down with an injury following the match leaving the new champion without an obvious challenger. As a result of this Lynch found herself the victim of repeated attacks at the hands of Nia Jax. Lynch went to FNS GM Shane McMahon and asked for a title defence against Jax at MITB and he made it official. ​

United States Championship
The “Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe became the Number One Contender to the WWE United States Championship. By competing in and winning a triple threat at Bad Blood, which also featured Braun Strowman and Sami Zayn. He would confront the current champion Seth Rollins and told him he would see him at MITB. ​

MONEY IN THE BANK 2017​

The Money in the Bank 2017 pay per view began in a historic way. In the form of the inaugural Women’s MITB Ladder match, where the winner would earn themselves a contract. For a future shot at either the WWE RAW Women’s or WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship, at a time of their choosing over the next year. Alexa Bliss, Carmella, Charlotte Flair, Dana Brook. Emma, Naomi, Paige and Tamina Snuka all took part in the match. The encounter ended by way of Paige climbing a ladder and unhooking the briefcase.

Next Seth Rollins© clashed with the “Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe. Over the WWE United States Championship, despite some underhanded tactics from Rollins. He would end up losing his prize after finding himself trapped in the Coquina Clutch and tapped out to the hold.

After that Becky Lynch© defended the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship. In a singles match against Nia Jax who used her power and size to her advantage. Lynch hit a huge Bex-Ploder Suplex which led to the pin.

In the fourth match, Bayley© attempted to remain the WWE RAW Women’s Champion. In a singles match against the “Anvil” Natalya Neidhart. The challenger caught her opponent in the Sharp Shooter and got the submission.

The WWE Championship match between Shinsuke Nakamura© and Randy Orton took place next. Nakamura retained by way of pinfall thanks to the Kinsasha.

Next the penultimate match of the night saw the self-proclaimed “King of the Universe” Chris Jericho©. Finding himself having to defend against not one but two very different challengers. For his WWE Universal Championship in a triple threat match against both Dean Ambrose and John Cena. In the end Ambrose hit the Dirty Deeds on Cena, only for Jericho to grab him and throw him out of the ring. From here Jericho attempted and hit the Lionsault on Cena for the win.

The show closed out with the second of two Money in the Bank ladder matches. This time around it was the men’s variant where the man who unhooked the briefcase, would earn a contract. For a shot at either the WWE Universal or WWE Championship at a time of his choosing, which would be valid for one year. AJ Styles, Bryan Danielson, Chad Gable, Dolph Ziggler, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns and The Miz took part. It concluded with none other than the current WWE Intercontinental Champion aka Danielson unhooking the briefcase.

The winner of the 2017 Men's Money in the Bank ladder match, the current WWE Intercontinental Champion Bryan Danielson. Has made two shocking announcements, first he revealed when he would be cashing in his contract it would be at the Great American Bash. The second was that he was going to vacate the Intercontinental Championship and give some of his fellow FNS superstars a chance at greatness as a result.

In a follow up to the above news, FNS General Manager Shane McMahon has revealed that a new IC Champion would also be crowned at the Great American Bash. When with a one night tournament would take place at the same event.​

ROAD TO WWE GREAT AMERICAN BASH

WWE Championship
FNS General Manager Shane McMahon and the winner of the 2017 Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Who just so happens to be the current WWE Intercontinental Champion Bryan Danielson. Took part in a post MITB interview to reveal what Danielson’s plans were going forward. In said interview Danielson called out WWE Champion Shinsuke Nakamura© to challenge him for the gold at Great American Bash.

Nakamura made an appearance to not only accept the challenge but to state that he was looking forward to it. McMahon confirmed the main event for Great American Bash, then Danielson proceeded to vacate the IC Championship.


Intercontinental Championship Tournament
After the shocking revelation that Bryan Danielson would be vacating the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Ahead of his intention to cash in the men’s MITB briefcase at Great American Bash. To challenge the “King of Strong Styles” Shinsuke Nakamura© for the WWE Championship at the event. FNS GM Shane McMahon revealed that a one-night tournament would take place at the G.A.B to crown a new WWE Intercontinental Champion.

McMahon followed this up by revealing that Akira Tozawa, Xavier Woods, Sheamus, Jinder Mahal, Mustafa Ali, Neville, Jack Swagger and Rusev would all take part in it. The final of the match would be a fatal four-way elimination match.


Smackdown Tag Team Championship
The final made added to the card of Great American Bash 2017. Was a men’s division tag team match for the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship. Between defending champions Breezango© and the challengers of Big E & Kofi Kingston representing the New Day. ​

WWE GREAT AMERICAN BASH​

The beginning of the blue brand exclusive Great American Bash PPV. Began with the first match in the one-night tournament to crown a new Intercontinental Champion. As Akira Tozawa faced off with Jack Swagger, which saw the latter win with a Gut Wrench Powerbomb.

Next the duo of Mustafa Ali and Sheamus waged war in another first round match. In the end, Sheamus won with the Brogue Kick.

In the third match, New Day member Xavier Woods triumph over the “Bulgarian Brute” Rusev. To score a momentum building win into the next round of the ICC tournament.

After that Neville got the last spot into the final of the WWE Intercontinental Championship tournament. By defeating Jinder Mahal with the Red Arrow.

The next match saw the New Day claim the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship. From the reigning champions Breezango©. By way of Kingston pinning Tyler Breeze after the Midnight Hour.

Next Xavier Woods, Jack Swagger, Sheamus and Neville faced off for the vacant WWE Intercontinental Championship. Sheamus eliminated Swagger and Neville with back-to-back Brogue Kicks. Then Woods managed to get better of him thanks to the Limit Break.

Bryan Danielson successfully cashed in his Men’s MITB briefcase. To defeat Shinsuke Nakamura© with the Busaiku Knee, to become the new WWE Champion.

ROAD TO WWE BASH AT THE BEACH

The main event for the Monday Night RAW exclusive Bash at the Beach ppv. Came about after the fan favourite Sami Zayn was able to defeat the current Universal Champion Chris Jericho©. In a non-title on an episode of Monday Night RAW, this victory was enough of a reason, for MNR GM Mick Foley to grant Zayn a title match.

A singles match between the duo of Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns. Was announced for the Bash at the Beach ppv after both men. Blamed each other for them not winning the Men’s MITB ladder match.

The feud between Dean Ambrose and John Cena seemed far from done after the MITB ppv event. So much so that the duo kept brawling and attacking each other on repeated episodes of MNR. The shows General Manager Mick Foley proceeded to announce an ambulance match for the next ppv, to put an end to their feud.

At MITB 2017 the “Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe walked into the event as a challenger. But walked out of it as the new WWE United States Champion. The former champion aka Rollins said he would have his rematch, at Bash at the Beach.

Two other championship matches were added to Bash at the Beach event. A singles match for the WWE RAW Women’s Championship. Between reigning champion Natalya Neidhart© and the challenger Nikki Bella. The second one revolved around the WWE RAW Tag Team Championship. Between the Hardy Boyz© and the challengers the Usos.

The seventh and final match confirmed Bash at the Beach 2017 was a mixed tag team match. Between the teams of Chad Gable and Naomi, and The Miz & Maryse. Miz took issue with Gable costing him the MITB Ladder match. Naomi would even the odds and back up Gable. ​

WWE BASH AT THE BEACH 2017​

Bash at the Beach kicked off with a mixed tag team match. Which pitted the fan favourite duo of Chad Gable & Naomi, against the egocentric The Miz and Maryse. Which ended when Miz pinning Gable with the Skull Crushing Finale.

Next it was time for WWE RAW Tag Team Championship, to be contended for. In a battle of the brother tag teams, the Hardy Boyz© and the Usos. It concluded with Jey Uso tagging in Jimmy who then knocked Jeff Hardy from the apron. Then the Usos hit a Samoan Drop/Superkick Combo on Matt with Jimmy getting the pin.

In the third match, the “Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe©. Managed to retain the WWE United States Championship against the former champion Seth Rollins.

Then the duo of Roman Reigns and the “Prize Fighter” Kevin Owens. Squared off with one and another in a men’s division singles match. Despite a good showing from Owens, he fell victim to a Spear.

After that Natalya Neidhart© successfully remained the WWE RAW Women’s Champion. After she trapped her opponent aka Nikki Bella in the Sharpshooter for the submission.

The penultimate match saw Chris Jericho© retain the WWE Universal Championship. Against Sami Zayn in a one-on-one match. However, Jericho only retained by default by way of having his opponent in the Walls of Jericho. Only for Zayn to pass out in the hold, he never submitted.

Ladies and Gentlemen, it is now time for the main event of the evening. An Ambulance match between the pair of Dean Ambrose and John Cena. To put an end to their ongoing issues, as can be expected this encounter was brutal from the get go. After about half of an hour of back-and-forth war between the two men, it reached its dramatic conclusion. With the two men brawling on top of the ambulance, where Cena came out on top of it. Then sent his opponent flying off the ambulance through several tables, then Cena climbed off the ambulance. And dragged the lifeless body of Ambrose to back of the ambulance and opened the doors, then put him in it and shut them.

Mick Foley aka the General Manager of Monday Night RAW took to the ring on an episode of his show. To reveal a huge match for the WWE Universal Championship at Summerslam 2017. A fatal four-way match between the reigning and defending champion Chris Jericho, John Cena, Roman Reigns and the man who didn’t tap out at B.A.T.B. Sami Zayn.

At the Great American Bash, the winner of the 2017 Men’s MITB Ladder match. Bryan Danielson cashed in his briefcase to challenge for the WWE Championship. Against the then champion, the “King of Strong Style” Shinsuke Nakamura© to become the new champion. FNS GM Shane McMahon announced that the rematch for the gold would take place at Summerslam.

Samoa Joe© aka the WWE United States Champion was fresh off from retaining the gold against the former champion Seth Rollins. Wasted very little time in demanding another opponent and he got his wish in a big way. In the form of the “Bearded Badass” Luke Harper who took the fight to the champion. A one-on-one title match between the two men was made official for Summerslam.


RAW Tag Team Championship

At the Monday Night RAW exclusive ppv event, Bash at the Beach. The tag team of Jey and Jimmy Uso aka the Usos captured the WWE RAW Tag Team Championship. From another brother tag team of the then defending champions, Jeff and Matt Hardy aka the Hardy Boyz.

Monday Night RAW GM Mick Foley revealed that the returning Mickie James would be joining the MNR brand. Not only that but she would being having her return match at Summerslam. Against the “Princess of Staten Island” Carmella where the winner would be the Number One Contender, to the WWE RAW Women’s Championship.

Intercontinental Championship

At the Great American Bash, Xavier Woods took part in and won a fatal four-way elimination match. Which served as the final of the tournament to crown a new WWE Intercontinental Champion. The match came down to the pair of Woods and Sheamus, with Woods winning it. Sheamus asked for another chance and Woods accepted making it official for Summerslam.


Number One Contender – US Championship
Chad Gable VS The Miz
The “Awesome A-Lister” The Miz took issue with Chad Gable costing him the MITB Ladder match at MITB. When in reality, Gable was just trying to win the match. At Bash at the Beach, the two men competed in a mixed tag team match. Which saw Miz and Maryse get the win over the duo of Gable and Naomi. MNR General Manager Mick Foley revealed that the two men would face off at Summerslam. with the winner being the N1C to the US Championship. Foley also banned Maryse from ringside for the match.


Smackdown Women’s Championship

Paige took part in and won the first ever Women’s MITB Ladder match. In doing so she earned a future Women’s Championship at a time of her choosing. She decided on the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship, but she held off on cashing in the contract. That was until she blindsided the champion Becky Lynch© after a match and then pinned her to become the new champion. Lynch proceeded to state that the rematch would take place at Summerslam.

The final match added to the card of WWE Summerslam 2017 regarded the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship. A rematch for the gold from WWE Great American Bash. With the roles of champions and challengers reversed​
