A video package hyped the WWE Intercontinental Championship triple threat match.
The Miz with Maryse(c) beat Apollo Crews and Kalisto. He hit the Skull Crushing Finale on Kalisto to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
Mauro Ranallo & Nigel McGuiness thanked the WWE Universe for joining them.

TJP beat Akira Tozawa(c) with the Detonation Kick. To become a two time WWE Cruiserweight Champion.
A split screen showed WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch(c) and Alexa Bliss. Preparing for their match.
The Uso’s beat American Alpha(c), Breezango, Heath Slater & Rhyno and the Wyatt Family. In a tag team turmoil match, to become the new WWE SD Tag Team Champions.
A WWE Spring Stampede hype video aired.
Becky Lynch(c) beat Alexa Bliss via the Dis-Arm-Her. To retain the WWE SD Women’s Championship.
Pre-recorded promos from Finn Balor and WWE USC Chris Jericho(c) aired ahead of their match.
Finn Balor defeated WWE USC Chris Jericho(c) with the Coup De Grace. In a match for both his WrestleMania Opportunity and the WWE USC.
A split screen showed WWE Champion AJ Styles(c) and the five challengers to his title. Preparing for the main event Hell in a Cell match.
Kevin Owens(c) beat Sami Zayn to retain the WWE Universal Championship. Just like in NXT, Owens put his opponent down with a series of Powerbombs.
A WrestleMania 33 hype video aired.
AJ Styles(c) beat John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, Baron Corbin and Bray Wyatt. In a brutal six way Hell in a Cell match. To retain the WWE Championship.
Post-Match: Finn Balor came out and issued a challenge to Styles for Mania which the latter accepted.

ROAD TO WWE SPRING STAMPEDE 2017

EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT
The 2017 edition of the WWE Spring Stampede pay per view event. Wa announced for the 5th of March. It was also revealed that it would take place at BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee Wisconsin.

The next man to challenge him for a shot at the gold was revealed to be Seth Rollins. Who beat Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn in a triple threat match on an episode of RAW. ​

Going into the WWE Spring Stampede ppv the WWE RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair(c). Found her pathway forward blocked. But who was the blocker? None other than the “Boss” Sasha Banks. RAW GM Mick Foley announced a title match for the event.​

At the WWE No Way Out pay per view event the winner of the 2017 Royal Rumble, Finn Balor successfully retained his WrestleMania Opportunity. Against the then WWE US Champion “Y2J” Chris Jericho(c) in a match which was also for the WWE USC. Which saw Balor become the new champion for the first time in his career. Jericho announced he would cash in his rematch at Spring Stampede.​

On an episode of Friday Night Smackdown the “Lunatic” Dean Ambrose confronted The Miz(c) for another title match. Which the latter only agreed to as long as when Ambrose lost he would leave SD and he agreed. ​

Kevin Owens(c) beat Seth Rollins via a Package Piledriver. To retain the WWE Universal Championship.

ROAD TO WRESTLEMANIA 33

EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT
The 33rd annual WWE WrestleMania pay per view event was confirmed for the 2nd of April 2017. It was announced that the event would take place at Camping World Stadium in Orlando Florida. ​

WWE UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP
KEVIN OWENS(C) VS CHRIS JERICHO
In early 2016 the duo of Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens formed a tag team by the name of Jeri-KO. During the team’s history both men would hold championship gold. For Jericho that meant the WWE United States Championship and for Owens that meant the WWE Universal Championship. Eventually Jericho would lose his title to Finn Balor while Owens would continue to hold the Universal Championship till present day.

After Jericho failed to reclaim the US Championship at WWE Spring Stampede, he would end the partnership and lay Owens out. Going into WrestleMania 33 the former tag team partners would attack each other. Which resulted in RAW GM Mick Foley announcing a title match for WrestleMania 33.​

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP & WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP
AJ STYLES(C) VS FINN BALOR(C)
At the 2017 edition of the WWE Royal Rumble pay per view event the night ended with the titular match. Which saw Finn Balor make his return from injury at the number 15 spot and go on to win the match. In doing so he aka Balor earned himself a championship match at WrestleMania 33. After he successfully retained the WM opportunity against the then WWE US Champion Chris Jericho(c) he would also claim the title in the match.

Then at WWE Spring Stampede, Balor(c) retained the title in a rematch. At the end of the event he confronted WWE Champion AJ Styles(c) and made his choice of WrestleMania 33 opponent. RAW GM Mick Foley later confirm that the WWE US Championship would also be on the line.​
