ROAD TO WWE NO WAY OUT 2017

EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT
The follow up to the 2017 WWE Royal Rumble PPV was announced to be WWE No Way Out. It was also revealed that it would take place on the 12th of February 2017.​

AJ STYLES(C) VS BARON CORBIN VS BRAY WYATT VS DEAN AMBROSE VS DOLPH ZIGGLER VS JOHN CENA
The first match announced for the WWE No Way Out PPV event regarded the WWE Championship. Smackdown GM Daniel Bryan announced that the current champion aka AJ Styles. Would defend the title inside the Hell in a Cell structure. Not only that but he would have five other men to contend with. Baron Corbin, Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler and John Cena. Defeated Apollo Crews, Randy Orton, Luke Harper, Kalisto and The Miz to qualify for the match.

BALOR’S WRESTLEMANIA OPPORTUNITY
FINN BALOR(C) VS CHRIS JERICHO
At the 2017 WWE Royal Rumble pay per view event saw a returning Finn Balor enter the titular match at the number 15 spot. After thirty WWE Superstars entered the match it came down to the duo of Balor and Chris Jericho(30). When it was all said and done the former got the better of the latter to win the match. In the weeks following Jericho bitched and moaned about how he should be in the main event of WrestleMania. Balor said that if he wanted a rematch all he had to do was ask because he wouldn’t mind kicking his ass again.

The now two time and current WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch(c). Walked into the Royal Rumble PPV in the role of challenger but walked out of the event as champion. On the episode of Friday Night Smackdown following the event the now former champion. Alexa Bliss confronted Lynch and told her she would be cashing in her rematch clause at No Way Out.

Smackdown GM Daniel Bryan announced that a tag team turmoil match would take place at No Way Out. He revealed that the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship would be on the line in the match. He finished by stating it would be the champions American Alpha(c) VS Breezango VS Heath Slater & Rhyno VS The Uso’s VS The Wyatt Family. ​

After successfully defending the WWE Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble against Roman Reigns. The current reigning and defending champion aka the “Prize Fighter” Kevin Owens(c) didn’t have to wait long for his next challenger. As a man he knew all too well stepped up to the plate in the form of Sami Zayn.​

Akira Tozawa beat the then WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville(c) to become the new champion. During his reign Tozawa would successfully retain the title against Neville, Ariya Daivari and Hoho Lun. Going into No Way Out he would find himself the victim of attacks from TJP. Tozawa laid down the challenge and of course TJP accepted. ​

Two matches were announced for the WWE No Way Out KickOff Show. The first was a triple threat match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Featuring the trio of the defending champion The Miz(c), and two challengers in the forms of Apollo Crews and Kalisto.

The second was a tag team match for the WWE RAW Tag Team Championship. Between the defending champions aka the Good Brothers(c) and the former champions. The duo of Cesaro and Sheamus aka The Bar. ​
