So, for those that don't know The EC is currently taking votes on who should be in the very first Wrestling Smarks Hall of Fame Class in this thread right here:

In order to keep the class a surprose the ballots are being collected via private message, so we can't discuss who we voted for yet, BUT when I looked at the final 10 there was one big immediate "nope" on the list as far as I was concerned...

So, the final 10 are listed below, did YOU immediately see a name on here and discount it straight away? Who was it? (I'll give you mine later in the thread).

Well I'm very interested by this.

I don't think there's a name on this list that I feel isn't worthy of immediate induction into the Hall of Fame but looking things over I would guess that if anyone had an objection to someone on this list, it would be the nWo.

The reason being that all the single superstars have had indisputably great careers. Someone like Hogan, yeah, he's been mired in controversy, but he's still arguably the biggest star in wrestling history.

I can see where some people would look at the nWo and feel like their formation was great. They were a historic and revolutionary stable. But then ask how long were they actually a good thing for WCW programming? And I guess you also have to question if you induct nWo, does that cover guys like Brian Adams, Virgil, Stevie Ray and others who ultimately amounting to pretty much nothing more than warm bodies for the stable?

Now personally I'm still fully in favor of an nWo induction, as I'm fully in favor of all these nominees getting an induction.

But if I had to guess who the most divisive nominee here is, it would be the nWo.

Mostly because of the age of most everyone here I will say Bruno. There were a lot of back in the day wrestlers that made their names back then. The reason we know Bruno so well is cuz of the WWE but like it’s not like means much to anyone on this board.

I'm pretty much with EC in saying the nWo are the only ones and not really knocking them any (DON'T YELL AT ME SMARK!) because if I voted faction in it'd be them first for sure, Horsemen a close second tho. I'm just ranking singles guy higher on my own personal list as well, I didn't do tag teams either bc I mostly forgot but I was going to send an updated list with some until I started thinking about singles guys I'd have to knock out so I said fuck it and didn't.

Nah - a websites Hall of Fame should represent who the members of that site believe are HOF worthy regardless of group, announcer or whatever.

That said, I'm glad a couple of peeps singled out the NWO because that's the candidate I was looking at.

The original angle was fantastic (Halls debut onwards) but SO many jobbers got involved (Stevey Ray,? The Disciple? VINCENT!!!?) - Is the NWO HOF worthy? Probably a few years down the line, but to put the faction in this company, which are some actual legends of the business?
