Jeff being the GF would make sense from the perspective that he feels reasonably safe to be copped, but not safe enough to just feign his free flowing town-jeff we've come accustomed to see.

The Barry VT claim throws a bit of a wrench in it. I wonder if he would come up with something else if no VT had flipped/claimed yet
