Top stories of the week
New number 1 + 13 in a row:
Notorious not only kept his winning streak going at 13 but he also is now in 1st place by one game after his 9-4 victory over Showtime. His next opponent is Brandon which last time these two teams faced off Notorious won 10-2. There isn't much of a gap between 6 and 8 so this will be a key game for Brandon.
Upset victims of the short week:
Run N Gun, PSYCH (SAL) and downtown chuckers all top 5 teams suffered upset this past week. Maybe these loses would have happened regardless but the 4 game week ended up playing a pretty good part in these upsets. IYF got a much needed win out of it beating SAL keeping himself in decent position to try and sneak into the playoffs. While Aid got his 4th win of the year which interestingly enough 3 of those wins are against current playoff positioned teams. Then Ben got a close 7-6 win keeping the 8th seed in tact for now.
Playoff clock ticking for ex commish:
GA coming off a year where he became the only team to be able to make claim to beating Run N Gun in the playoffs is now left sitting in 11th place at the moment. This hasn't exactly been the season he thought he'd have and is not looking very likely to make the playoffs. His schedule remaining isn't going to help matters as this week he goes up against IYF a team fighting to get into the playoffs then in 2 of the final 3 weeks after this week he goes against 2 top 3 teams.
Will PSYCH finally get his wish?:
PSYCH has always wanted to play Run N Gun (me) in the playoffs for some apparent wacky ass reason and as it stands right now if the playoffs started today he would get his wish. The seeding will likely change every week until the playoffs so no telling if this will stick but this seems like the most likely time for PSYCH to face me in the playoffs.
Stax playing role of spoiler in remaining weeks: It is too late for him to make the playoffs himself but with his team really coming on in the recent weeks he is position to mess with teams playoff fates and seeding. Very prime example of this is this week where he goes against Showtime who is holding on to his playoff life. Showtime may get some good news as Russell Westbrook could very well play this week which couldn't come at a better time as Stax is suddenly looking like a formidable team.
