It seems like surely that must have happened more than once.

It's happened more than once where it was a match restarted or a rematch like on No Mercy when Orton and Triple had two matches, but I'm referring to when someone loses their championship only to have a second shot in a different match altogether and reclaim it involving different superstars.

Technically, I suppose it could be because I thought I specified in a match he lost the championship and won it back in a different match.

Technically, it did happen in a WWE umbrella brand.

Booker T didn't do that until WWE with his fifth reign. DDP did that after this Nitro and would say two-time, two-time, two-time WCW Champion.

Why three times, I don't know.
