Don't know if I'll be able to hit 365.. got a relatively heavy load on my plate but I'll make an attempt at it and get some of my analyses out there.

Good to know we're not limited to WWE, cuz I'm totally throwing some High school backyard pro wrestling videos in there :becky:.

Its just whatever goal you want to set yourself man, I understand heavy world loads. I'm thinking 365 wont be too hard for me since I'm catching up on the 2014-2015 shows I missed and then after all the PPVs and weekly shows over the next year and then the Womens Tournament next summer etc etc.

I feel ashamed to even admit I've never watched a Misawa match. It feels just wrong but I've never ever watched anything from Japan that isn't New Japan and I don't even watched New Japan often.

I believe he has quite a few five star matches but is there one specific match that would win someone over instantly?

Misawa has 26 five star matches awarded to him by Meltzer. Any of those should do. A good jump on point I would believe is his match with Jumbo Tsuruta from 1990. The new top star vs the old top star. Rumor has it Jumbo was suppossed to win but they heard how over Misawa was before the show started that they decided to switch the ending ad hauc. His rivalry with Kawada was legendary as well.

90s All Japan is smack full with great matches all over. Arguably the greatest decade any promotion has ever had. ClassicPuro83 on youtube uploads DVDs of classic Japanese wrestling. He has two Misawa comps if you are looking to dive into him.

I'll throw them on my watchlist cheers. Currently I've got listed to watch:

Sasha/Bayley Ironman Match (Already watched now)
NXT Title Fatal Four Way
Neville/Zayn
Joe/Balor Takeover Dallas
Rewatch: HBK Vs Mankind, In Your House Mind Games
Styles/Ambrose TLC
Charlotte Vs Sasha Banks NXT R Evolution
Then onto some Misawa matches.

My problem is I have a watchlist and then I just ignore it and watch whatever is on the Network or whatever comes to mind.

Match: Low Ki vs Kenta for GHC Jr. Heavyweight Title
Date and Show: Final Battle 2005
Promotion: ROH
Star Rating: 4.5
Analysis: The match flew by in no time and was just insane action from start to finish. It was tremendous, quite possibly my favorite Low Ki match ever.

Link:
Match: Justin Gabriel vs Tyson Kidd
Date and Show: NXT 09/08/2011
Promotion: WWE
Star Rating: 4
Analysis: This happened when it was in the redemption part of NXT's history which happens to add to this match considering that was such a bad time for the brand. Great technical wrestling from both men

1. Low Ki vs Kenta- 4.6
2. Justin Gabriel vs Tyson Kidd- 4

Match: Wrestlewar 1992 - Dangerous Alliance vs Sting's Squadron - WAR Games
Date: May 17, 1992
Promotion: WCW
Star Rating: ****3/4
Analysis:
Fucking Holy Shit this match. Watching this match is a harsh reminder of how Bischoff and Hogan killed the golden age of WCW with their moronic mentality that 80s WWF was the future of Pro-Wrestling. The scale of the talent in this match is ridiculous. First up is the Dangerous Alliance led by Paul Heyman and composed of Arn Anderson, Steve Austin, Rick Rude, Bobby Eaton and Larry Zybszko, they're facing Sting's Squadron led by the Stinger himself with Ricky Steamboat, Dustin Rhodes (yes Goldust), Barry Windham and Nikita Kolkoff. This match is violence centric and unlike modern wrestling, really hammers home the point of a blood feud, Austin is bleeding like a stuck pig even before all of the competitors get into the ring, he must of bladed something nasty. Anderson as the enforcer runs the show and is amazing as always. By the end of the war, Rhodes and Windham are pretty much corpses and Austin looks more like an abstract work of art rather than the man we'd know to become Stone Cold. As is with all great 90s matches, the faces pick up the win. The epitome of this WAR Games gimmick. Top stuff. Jim Ross on commentary.

Match: Takeshi Morishima (C) Vs Bryan Danielson for the Ring Of Honor World Championship (First encounter between the two)
Show and Date: Unknown Show from 2007
Rating: ****1/2 (4.5)
Link:
Analysis: Fucking christ this makes me weep for the Bryan/Lesnar match we never got. They played the story of David Vs Goliath so excellently and Morishima was killing the dude. I don't want to say Bryan carried the match because he didn't and Morishima is great but my god Bryan made this match a classic from his bumping and selling. Every lariat he was torn inside out and every strike looked like a bullet through the skull (which sounds like overselling but with the size difference it made sense and suited them perfectly), Morishima was great here with his strikes but Bryan was just something else this whole match he just kept going. Fantastic match, will need to check out their Rematch from Final Battle I believe?

Sasha Banks Vs Bayley NXT Takeover Brooklyn ****3/4
Sasha Banks VS Bayley NXT Takeover Respect ****1/2
Bryan Danielson Vs Takeshi Morishima ROH 2007 ****1/2
Ziggler/Miz Ladder Match TLC 2016: ***1/2
Slater/Rhyno Vs Wyatt Famoly TLC 2016: **
Carmella Vs Nikki Bella: Minus *1/2

Up Next: WWE Roadblock March 2016, Enzo and Cass Vs The Revival, maybe more of that show if I feel like it, I don't remember my ratings for it from watching it live as it was my first show back so this is a second viewing and can't remember if this show sucked or not.

Current Goal: 365
Current Total: 5

Match: Enzo and Cass Vs The Revival
Show: Roadblock March 2016
Promotion: WWE
Rating: ***1/2
Live Reaction: Felt like doing a different analysis of this match to try it out so just some notes while I watch (Sort of like how Bryan and Vinny write notes during shows and then overview them later)

  • Enzo is a fucking meteor of charisma and by god have their promos gotten even better
  • The Revival no reaction makes me sad. Their theme is slightly different back here, they are still damn great as Dawson is rushing the barricade yelling at fans. Their theme is so great.
  • For as much flak as Enzo gets dude is good at his role, he hits some nice quick flashly moves and tags in Cass
  • Awful camera cuts here, lets focus on Carmella during the action.
  • Michael Cole is calling this pretty damn well, exemplifying how much The revival are in trouble. Enzo hit a lovely flying something over the top roe with assistance from Cass.
  • Awesome double O'Connor roll spot from Enzo as Dash and Dawson tagged with the throw into the ring post. Really cool cut off into the heat.
  • Don't know why The Revival are focusing Enzo's arm when throughout this match they specifically showed that Enzo's key offence was speed and flying.
  • Tree woe spot for some more heat after the rest hold and hope spot.
  • FUCKING AWESOME MOVE. Enzo rolled out, ducks Dawson, slides in the ring, dives for the tag but Dawson cuts him off with a huge shoulder tackle as Enzo bumped into the ropes.
  • Hot tag on Dash and Dawson from Cass. Big Cass is freaking huge and moves so damn fast that its both depressing and terrifying at the same time. Double big boots and winds of change.
  • Winds of Change is a dumb move to hit when Wade Barrett uses it earlier in the show.
  • Dawson cuts off Enzo's splash, hides behind Carmella, he gets slapped. SHATTER MACHINE ON THE OUTSIDE!
  • Enzo hit a lovely DDT off the top and got a nearfall with the roll up
  • Top rope Shatter Machine for the pin, kinda an anti climax. Probably should have ended on the outside shatter machine as that is where the match and crowd peaked.
  • Overall solid mid card NXT showcase match that run a minute too long.
Current Goal: 365
Current Total: 6

Match: Charlotte Flair Vs Nattie Neidhart
Show: Roadblock March 2016
Promotion: WWE
Rating: **1/4
Live Reaction:

  • Pre match promo, god it was awful. Charlotte and Ric were fine but Nattie is basically a plank of wood in terms of personality.
  • Charlotte got decent heel heat, Nattie despite being a native barely got an average pop even when they announced her from Canada. (Side note: JoJo is a really great announcer) Charlotte gets even more heat, way bigger reaction than Nattie.
  • Divas Title was ugly and thank god they retired it.
  • Nattie has Charlotte in some hold that looks like a sex position while Charlotte taunts her with Woo's which was pretty funny. Good technical wrestling to start off, not much to comment on.
  • Sharpshooter attempt but Charlotte grabs the rope. Charlotte pushes her away and taunts but Nattie hits a chop, Nattie puts him in a surfboard which Charlotte fed her arms to instead of being forced into it, that annoyed me.
  • Nattie did that stupid run off the ropes dropkick AND SHE STILL CAN'T FUCKING RUN THE ROPES AFTER THIS LONG. Nice baseball slide to the outside.
  • Nattie grabbed Charlotte's hair blatantly and Charlotte cuts her off. So faces do heel stuff now?
  • Some alright technical wrestling for the heat, this match is pretty lame so far. The best part so far is Charlotte hitting a neckbreaker, doing a kip up and the Flair taunt.
  • I can't help but feel like Nattie is just so anti charismatic and it just shines so clearly, no wonder she can't get a pop in her home town when she can't even work the crowd. Her selling is just so poorly acted.
  • Nattie is hitting forearms to the top of Charlotte's head instead of the side of the neck wat. She hits an awful discuss lariat out of no where and teases the sharpshooter, she then takes a big boot and bumped pretty well off it.
  • Figure 4 spot, god this spot always slows down a match to a complete halt. Charlotte rolled out and locked it on on the apron, that was neat. Natural selection for the near fall.
  • Charlotte hits a sort of T Bone suplex which was weird that it was a throw away move when Becky specifically uses it as a signature. Nattie hits a powerbomb which was probably the only move in this match that looked clean.
  • This Is Awesome chants like wut
  • Sharpshooter cheap pop, out of no where completely anti climatic hence the very sudden pop but Michael Cole tried to call it well. Charlotte rolled up for the win after Ric interfered. What a lame fucking match.

What a damn let down, I heard these two had some good matches but god damn this was so average and lame. Can't help but feel it was Nattie letting this one down but Charlotte is also partial to blame because this was before she starting to improve drastically. This was poorly paced and structured with Nattie's terrible selling and sloppy moves from both women paired with a mostly silent crowd aside from heel heat on Charlotte and the cheap sharpshooter pop, the lack of crowd reaction was all on Nattie. Reading the Observer Newsletter for this show ELEVEN PEOPLE VOTED THIS BEST MATCH OF THE NIGHT, FUCKING WHAT. Even Dave gave this ***1/2, genuinely shocked me.

Bray Wyatt Vs Brock Lesnar up next.

Match: Bray Wyatt Vs Brock Lesnar
Show: Roadblock March 2016
Promotion WWE
Rating: Minus 3 Stars, it sucked.
Live Reaction:

  • Skipping Wyatt's pre match promo because I'd rather not. Harper is here, Cole is asking if its 2 on 1 so idk.
  • Here comes Brock "Enhancement" Lesnar about to deliver some Steroid City or is it Squash City? Either way lets insult HHH for burying young talent as Brock literally does it every time he shows up.
  • "He looks bigger than ever" AHAHAHAHAHA. Of course he does.
  • Is he going to stop circling the ring or nah?
  • Long announcements Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  • So it is 2 on 1 according to commentary
  • Brock goes straight into Harper with shoulders in the corner, German suplex. Harper rolls out. I feel like we need to make a Step by Step guide on how not to bury talent.
  • Harper hits a suicide dive on a distracted Brock but Brock no sells as if he just got hit by a paper airplane.
  • Harper's big boot and a fucking superkick and a third fucking kick don't even make Brock bump, takes all that and a discuss to even get a two count.
  • Another German Yawn-Plex
  • Hope you guys enjoy the Anti Brock Party going on right here. More Yawn-plexes, Wyatt hasn't even gotten in the ring, is he injured or something? He's walking and looks normal so concussion?
  • F5 and Brock has won, love some good burial jobs. Fucking dogshit match.
  • Wyatt literally runs away from Brock, fuck this guy.

Current Goal: 365

Current Total: 8
