Match: Sheamus/Cesaro Vs New Day
Rating: ***
Analysis: I was kind of half watching this match and kind of not so my rating shouldn't be taken as gospel for this match. This was an alright solid opener, New Day have never been the best wrestlers on the planet so it was kind of their average match. Glad to see the belts change. The potential for Xavier Woods and Big E post New Day is so high as both men are very talented and still young plus they are still pretty new in WWE. We're going on about 4 years for Big E as an active wrestler on the main roster and 3 for Xavier. Problem is, Kofi has pretty much gotten as far as he'll ever get in WWE and thats pretty sad. Its not l like he isn't good because he is but he just was never given any real character for so long and just used as a Rumble spot for so long.

Match: Braun Strowman Vs Sami Zayn
Rating: **3/4
Analysis: This was better than it had any right to be since these guys were pulled down by the stipulation so heavily. The storytelling was on point and Braun played his role well with Sami playing the Daniel Bryan underdog excellently. Solid match for what it was, could've done without Mick Foley coming in since he can't convince anyone.

Match: Charlotte Flair Vs Sasha Banks 30 Minute Ironman Match
Rating: I'm breaking this done into multiple ratings.
Wrestling: ****1/4 Booking: ** Crowd: DUD. Overall: ***3/4
Analysis: Fuck this god damn company. Why is there is NEED to make babyfaces lose? We have nothing but heel champions except Cesaro and Sheamus and Sheamus is still heel! (Roman isn't a face champion when the crowd boos him out of the building week after week) and Sasha Banks is beloved by the fans, Charlotte is great. She genuinely is great but Raw NEEEEEEDS a full 100% face champion and Sasha Banks is clearly the best option and even aside from all that I'm going to contradict myself when I say they could've turned Sasha heel and ran with Bayley/Sasha for Mania. Seriously! If you want to put Womens Wrestling in the spotlight have Sasha and Bayley run with the underdog story and match that they did in NXT and watch them tear the roof off the place.

Aside from this, their wrestling was on point and great throughout. I liked them not doing a fall until 20 minutes in honestly, it drove home the whole equal opponents thing they are running with. The crowd was dead for a multitude of reasons, Pittsburgh is always an awful crowd, the show didn't sell any damn tickets to the show because the card looked bad and was bad and Roman main eventing isn't a draw.

Match: Roman Reigns Vs Kevin Owens (C) for the WWE Universal Championship
Rating: DUD
Analysis: Fuck this match. Its been nearly a week and it infuriates me even more and I even rewatched it to see if I was missing something but nope. This was so beyond boring and its a good metaphor for Roman Reigns in general. Roman. SOLD. NOTHING. At all, he was put through the announce table twice, got up in 4 seconds, got hit by a top rope splash and kicked out like it was nothing and when he got back up he didn't sell a damn thing. Reigns needs to go, I'm sorry but it needs to happen. He's hated, he's anti charismatic and he just sucks. He can have good matches yes but only when he's in the ring with someone else who's great and this match is an example of how even when he's in there with someone great he can still fucking suck. He isn't working and Vince will pretend that he draws when he doesn't. This match sucked, i genuinely can't think of one redeeming quality for it and the post match demolition of Jericho and Owens only furthered my rage. They are now throwing Rollins to team with Reigns and rebuild the shield without any explanation because ya know ROLLINS TRIED TO RETIRE THEM WITH A CHAIR last time, this is another futile attempt to get Reigns over and he just isn't getting over. My only hope is one day they realise this but this match angered me so much and its not written all over the wall that Reigns will be winning the Universal title at the Rumble and will Main Event his third Wrestlemania in a row. This along with the awful booking of the womens division, the piss break worthy Cruiserweight Division, the obsession with looks proven by the push of Braun and Reigns over guys like Rusev and Sami, the ignorance of the US title even existing after Cena single handed made that belt look awesome, the three hour long show and Brock Lesnar and Goldberg showing up whenever they please for a quick bullshit payday while burying someone as great as Rusev for no reason. All of this is ruining Monday Night Raw and its gotten to the point of being unwatchable, Reigns turning heel wont fix it either as some will say. The Mania line up for Raw just looks awful because its not unlikely for it to be Reigns and Braun for the Universal title and that alone makes me want throw up.

This has become more of a rant about Raw than anything but believe me this match was awful.

I'm a little behind on Lucha Underground so I watched the second to most recent episode and will review that.

My current goal is 500 and this will be 3 matches out of 500 reviewed.

Lucha Underground Number One Contender's match: The Mack vs PJ Black vs Cage vs Jeremiah Crane. *** This was a decent match. It honestly didn't live up to what I thought it could have been. The Mack winning was great because I honestly really like this guy. But I still didn't have any emotional investment in the match so I wasn't too thrilled.

Lucha Underground Championship cage match Johnny Mundo vs Sexy Star. *** Also a three star match. This was enjoyable but it really wasn't that great. I mean, going into it, I knew that Sexy Star wasn't going to win. Maybe that had a little to do with why I wasn't too into it. Also, the entire match really consisted of Sexy Star trying to get over the cage over and over again and Johnny trying to stop her. Then, when she had a completely clear path, rather than do what she had been doing throughout the entire match, she chose instead to jump off the top of the cage. It was nonsense and a silly way to progress this match. I mean, someone's strategy the entire match is strike and then run to try to quickly get over the cage... then when she finally has a chance, she changes her strategy. The looks on the faces of everyone in the crowd basically showed that they felt the same way as I did. That move really hurt the match.

I am reviewing the ten matches from Wrestle Kingdom 11 here. I will put it in a spoiler so it doesn't give it away to people who haven't seen the show yet. This will bring me up to 13 of 500.

Tiger Mask W vs Tiger the Dark ** Very quick match and really didn't showcase much.

The Young Bucks vs Roppongi Vice **1/2. This match had a couple good moments but sort of felt like filler to me.

David Finlay, Ricochet and Satoshi Kojima vs Bullet Club (Bad Luck Fale, Hangman Page and Yujiro Takahashi) vs. Chaos (Jado, Will Ospreay and Yoshi-Hashi) vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (Bushi, Evil and Sanada).***

You know, I like Will Ospreay but I'm really sick of his posing after EVERY FUCKING MOVE! Yes, you are good. Yes, you are fun to watch. But the ego is just getting way out of hand. I'd like to think it is character, but it is consistent to the attitude he has shown such as refusing to sell to Vader and then calling Vader a bitter, jealous old man when Vader complained and making the asinine comment that a 15 minute match is too short to sell any moves.

Cody vs. Juice Robinson *1/2 Boring match that I couldn't get into at all.

Ring of Honor World Championship: Champion Kyle O'Reilly vs Adam Cole **1/2 Another underwhelming match although I was happy with the outcome. Adam Cole is my favorite ROH guy so it's good to see him on top. What is bad is that after over a year of stability for the ROH title on Jay Lethal, the belt has changed hands three times.

IWGP Tag Team Championship: Guerrillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga and Tanga Roa) (c) vs. Chaos (Tomohiro Ishii and Toru Yano) vs. G.B.H. (Togi Makabe and Tomoaki Honma) ***

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship: Kushida (c) vs. Hiromu Takahashi ***

NEVER Openweight Championship: Katsuyori Shibata (c) vs. Hirooki Goto **** First really exceptional match on the card. And that Climax where Goto just wailed on Shibata and Shibata's eyes went completely blank... that was intense.

IWGP Intercontinental Championship: Tetsuya Naito (c) vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi ***1/2. This was a good match and it was good to see someone retain their title. Although I enjoyed it, I think I was too looking forward to the main event to really get into it.

IWGP Heavyweight Championship: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Kenny Omega ***** Match of the night easily. Kenny Omega was absolutely amazing in this match. Okada is my favorite wrestler, but he doesn't really elevate guys like Ric Flair, HBK and Tanahashi do. He puts on his best matches against the best opponents. And this was a phenomenal match by Kenny Omega and Okada. I really got into it and got pretty nervous at certain points of it. Although I think Omega would have been a good champion, Okada is still my preference. This will be a match of the year candidate.

Do you recommend WK11 to a New Japan Newb like me?

Absolutely. It was a really good event, especially the top four matches on the card. Some matches on the under card weren't that great but as a whole, it was a good event. I think it would be a good one to watch if you're not familiar with New Japan because they fit a lot more wrestlers on the card than other events so you'll be exposed to a larger portion of their roster.

New Japan runs its own subscription service called New Japan World. It's roughly 8 dollars a month and you get almost all of their shows live as well as their extended back catalog. Highly recommend it since you can easily try it out and then unsubscribe if it is not for you.

Running google translate makes the site a breeze to navigate and there are guides as well

Then look towards various torrent sites.

Also, word from a pro. Avoid the English commentary like the plague. It is GARBAGE

Absolutely. Even before I learned Japanese, I enjoyed the Japanese commentators. They put more energy into their commentary and they REALLY add to the excitement of a match. I think the NJPW newbies would enjoy it much more than the English NJPW has.

See now here is my problem, there is such a clear bias to New Japan than there is WWE. This isn't about you I just wanted to rant because you brought up my issue, WK11 can have a huge lackluster undercard and 3 great matches and everyone adores it but if the same situation happens in WWE everyone shits on it. My basis on this is the Observer thumbs up/thumbs in the middle/thumbs down poll, it just bothers me. Like Battleground from July of this year you could compare to WK11 in a way, there wasn't a bad match on that show yet 15% of people rated is negative or neutral but then you'll see a poll for WK11 and it will be 95-100% positive because of the main events. Sorry for the mini rant but I just hate this anti WWE bias a lot of the time. Again not talking about you just in general.
