Word. I think your annoyance over the suspension is valid too. I was very much happy to say "yeah that was a bit awk" and move on.

I also think your frustration at the lack of planning and cohesion for the event is fair regardless if I think it was setup to be a bit of a jammed in show. Missed opportunity to make money and to draw real heat is objectively a shame!

Ig rocky is vice president and told him to put his guns away from what I'm reading and he just continued. Also article from srs says aew has no input but obviously were not thrilled. So ya sounds like he just decided to go rogue and disregard his superior. I kinda get it...

It felt to me like he thought Rocky was going to join in as the AEW representive on commentary but Rocky never got that memo.

I thought the "put your guns away" line was from Walker to both of them tho which I thought was hilarious bc he's 21 and was trying to keep it all on track

Well 1 or 2 major shows but the tour shows might not have live English commentary now which was their big goal for 2025 unless Walker is going to fly right back to Japan. I think they were trying to work out some schedule where Chris can do minor tours without a lot of travel so they didn't have to do any delayed English commentary going forward. But again, not having a true backup for Walker is the real issue there. They're extremely lucky he showed up right when Kevin left tbh

Either way in any non wrestling job you shit on your biggest partner on live TV u prob get canned so he's kinda lucky when looking at it that way .idk why he thinks it's a good idea or why he didn't clear it with management prior . No idea why he did it all show either. I understand he's dome it before but i guess why do it at all? Then why ignore a guy that potentially is the booker of this particular event?

The impact stuff was aired by tna so obv was done with partner approval. I know u know that but it's wild ppl think it's a good comparison. Its like ppl saying kidd said those things too. Like ya he's a wrestler n has obv been greenlit lol the issue is Chris went rogue live on air

I think the Impact stuff is funny just bc Gambit specifically said "imagine if an AEW commentator said NJPW was poor" bc I had forgotten one actually did say that about TNA on air lol I agree it's not the same though at all and not a "gotcha" by me, but it was still funny it popped up

I don't really agree he "went rogue" though, I think that's where I have a disconnect bc that to me implies this isn't something he's ever done before when he certainly has. I think he thought it was okay bc no one had told him not to do it before (bc they didn't know bc they weren't paying attention). And the punishment seems like they're reacting as if this was a new occurrence and not something they should have already shut down before it happened on a show so many people were going to be watching if they thought it was unacceptable

Should clarify "Imagine if an AEW commentator started shooting and randomly burying NJPW" as TNA stuff was agreed lol (also they weren't doing it mid-matches), This was not and clearly if he has been punished for it, he did go rouge. More stuff I also see about Rocky clearly being annoyed, I think that might be more to it

I never got the indication that others are getting that Rocky told him in any official capacity to cut it out, I might be misremembering the "put your guns down" line and he did say it but that still sounds more like a "haha cut it out" than any kind of manager direction. It was just awkward and Rocky seemed uncomfortable so I don't understand why Chris didn't get that social cue and stop, that I very much got the vibe of

Like for me I can also see, whether ppl like it or not...it's one thing to big league lesser companies in your own market. It's another to shit on your biggest international partner that is wealthier. Im notbsaying its right but I can see njpw brass being like woah we don't want to appear like that
