I think people are missing the point lol, Shinsuke clearly hasn't has the worst WWE run in the last few years, not even close

I wanted to give an answer different than what was already said. While it could have been "worse" I think fans of him got burned a lot with how he was seemingly downgraded over the years.

CM Punk had the runs in the ring once.

Shinsuke’s run has been one of the most disappointing. Not bad per se. he’s a case of “eh it’s all right but should’ve been great.”

The hardcores or whatever you want to call them will always have way too high expectations for foreigners, at least in the WWE. Doesn't matter how charismatic or good in the ring you are if you can't cut solid English promos.

to me it doesn’t matter one bit.

Like Dale said, Nakamura’s inability to cut a coherent and concise promo is English is probably the only reason he hasn’t been WWE Champion. It’s the same thing that’s holding Cesaro back(at least that’s how I think WWE looks at it)

Cesaro speaks perfect English.

Yes Cesaro speaks very good English but he lacks something charisma-wise.

As for the Nakamura discussions, I could never get behind anyone who doesn't speak proper English, unless they have a manager. This is why I never managed to care for Asuka, Shirai or Kushida.

Idk it’s ok to have huge international stars.

I can’t imagine how hard it must be for a Japanese speaker to learn English so as long as their promo is coherent it’s good enough for me. You can’t expect 100% fluency. I for one don’t think I could ever become completely fluent in Japanese. Shinsuke tried and was entertaining enough without speaking perfect English. If you want proof he can speak English watch the video below. It isn’t perfect but he can clearly have a conversation. I’m sure if given a scripted promo he’d be fine.

Nobody is saying that though.

They're always gonna have their place on the card, most likely in the midcard but they're just not gonna be true main event stars with all the outside media responsibilities that come with that.

Yeah his is just baffling. He had the NXT run which was fine but his main roster call up was so weird and he never even had a chance to even fail lol I think there were rumors he rubbed people wrong backstage which just seems logical but also easy to speculate about
That's what everyone is saying when they say EC3. I agree, especially this shoot...

All that hype, all that momentum... gone, because Vince doesn't see anything.

Goosebumps. Still to this day.

I saw this while I was traveling Puerto Rico. Goosebumps, bro.

Yeah EC3 could’ve been a big star but as Luke Harper said: “you’re not gonna get anywhere if you don’t please the audience of 1”
