Are you on drugs? Sure he may have screamed every time and had some strange promos where you didn't always know what he was on about, but I'd take Warriors worst promos over ANYBODY in the WWE today's BEST promos. When Warrior talked, people literally got excited. When Edge talks, I go take a piss and grab something to drink.

That's what I miss most about the 1980's: Real character actors and great micwork.

Teddy Long ...is... terrible... on the... mic.... he ...always...pauses...between ...words...as if ... he ..is ...trying...to...work.... the WHAT!... Chants... and ... he ..ends.... every... promo... with ...saying.... the.... name ..... of ...a ...top... face........

.... Batista.... (cheap pops)

His lack of acting ability has killed the screwjob angle... he couldn't sell a lighter to a caveman..

The limo segment was on level par with the Shockmaster as the worst segment in history

Your the one on drugs, pal. People got excited for his entrance and his ring presence and that's about it. He never cut many live promos for the reason that his promos were awful. People in general got excited for Warrior for about a good year before the carpet was pulled from under his feet and he'd never sniff that type of success again. People only seemed to care about the guy for about two weeks when he'd make his return from long absences. Remember how well he fared in 92, 96 and the 3 million WCW threw away having him there?? Everytime the guy returned anywhere HE CLIMAXED WITHIN 30 SECONDS. People stopped caring after two weeks of his personally chosen gimmicks and written promos in WCW No one with half a brain gave a fuck or understood what the fuck the guy was talking about. It only worked on children for a very small time and now apparently those kids have grown into junkies with a strong recollection and fondness of nostalgia that is indeed garbage. Don't care how popular he was from 89-90, the bottom line was he was the epitome of "flash in the pan" and his popularity had to do with his character and strong booking behind him, not his fuckin promos.

It seems you need to do some YouTube research. The man was insanely over.

Now I wasn't watching in the Warrior age, but to say he wasn't over is nuts.

Same goes with his mic skills. The guy screamed and raved all over the place, but he had some of the most memorable promos ever.

LOL, this is unrelated, but remember Booker T yelling "Hulk Hogan, we comin' for YOU smurf!" back when him and Stevie were still Harlem Heat in WCW? LOL. I was watching Best of Botchamania and it was in there.

That's all he did, scream and rave all over the place. I don't need to do Youtube research, you wouldn't need to either if his promos were so memorable. They're memorable because the manner in which he yelled and screamed, not because they added to the feud or were even comprehensible at that. It was just a bunch of screaming and muttering. Before you did your Youtube research how many Warrior promos could you recall word for word or were so "memorable". You can remember Hogan's promo with Andre, or any Piper moments because of what was said but you can't recall any specific Warrior promo, you can only remember he just rambled and yelled about a bunch of incoherent nonsense, how does that make him great on the mic? Your just remembering his unique style, not anything in particular.

And I NEVER said he wasn't over. He had a great two year run but after that he was just a couple of quick splashes that always turned sour. Had cups of coffee in 92 and 96 and absolutely sucked hairy cock in WCW, people stopped watching his segments two weeks in, he wrote all his angles and it tanked about as badly as anything tanked in this industry and it wasn't because he was wrestling weekly, he was spending ten minute segments cutting god-awful, incoherent promos that had nothing to do with wrestling. So you, in all honesty think the Warriors promos are what made him so insnely hot for that two years? Fine, you can argue that, but to argue that his mic skills are great and memorable is a hard sell, he had little to no longevity to his career and his last stint was an epic failure because he was talking too fucking much and people realized he was a babbling idiot and tuned out. Great mic skills?

Anyone remember Vader bursting out laughing in one of his promo's during the early days of his WWE run? ...Funniest part was Sunny stood there not knowing what do say or do!

Good call (above) on Sid... Though don't think it's a case of them individually being poor - He talked utter crap half the time even if his delivery was pretty cool.

Re: Warrior... Age and 'smarkness' of the viewer play a big part... Those looking back, particularly on his first run, without having seen it at the time aren't gonna get it. Being totally honest, things being so deep in Kayfaybe as they were, as a kid, I was yet to understand the finer points of a wrestlers performance and would mark like hell for Warrior.

I'm not saying he was a gifted worker and great mic-man, but he was hot as hell and deserves credit for being an integral part of one of the biggest (and best) WM main events ever.

Memorable promo: The Hogan/Warrior plane crash rant. ;o]

In all seriousness tho', he otherwise pulled off some decent promo's during the hype for WM6. The ultimate challenge storyline - meeting of the two most powerful forces blah blah - actually fit his gimmick.

tear down the cockpit doors.... Ho-Kogan.... take the pilots who've already made the ultimate sacrifice... Ho-Kogan...

Thing with the Ultimate Warrior is that he was SO cool when I was a kid... his look was perfect. He did cut the worst promo's ever but it didn't matter.... feel the sin, sin the power of the warriors... they just sounded cool and that was his whole gimmick... nobody understood him but he was cool! He was so energetic and intense that kids like myself didn't see or care how poor he was in the ring or on the mic... as long as he shook those ropes and grunted like a pig then I was happy!

And as for the arguement about him being over goes.... He was as over as Hogan or Austin ever where!
