ECW On Sci-Fi - Tuesday 1st April 2008

Before ECW came onto the air a video package played reminding fans of this past Sunday's Wrestlemania Twenty-Four PPV event where The Big Red machine Kane won a massive battle royal in order to become the number one contender for Chavo Guerrero's ECW Championship by lastly eliminating The Worlds Strongest Man Mark Henry. Little did Chavo know that during the Wrestlemania 24 PPV, Kane would defeat him in less than ten seconds to win the ECW Championship.

ECW On Sci-Fi started in a fiery mood this week with Mr. Money In The Bank, and ECW superstar CM Punk making his appearance. Joey Styles and Tazz couldn't help but remind everyone of CM Punk's appearance last night on Monday Night RAW, and how he teamed up with John Cena and Triple H to take on John Bradshaw Layfield and the WWE Champion Randy Orton. Punk got straight to work declaring himself as 'glad to be home' He stated that his time on RAW last night was good but he was only there for one reason, to remind Randy Orton that he is Mr. Money In The Bank. Punk informed the WWE Universe that he would be doing the same thing tonight with the new ECW Champion Kane, and then the same on Friday at Smackdown to The Undertaker.
This seemed to bring out the new ECW Champion Kane who was something of a fan favourite here tonight. Kane told Punk that his brother The Undertaker wouldn't appreciate being threatened in any way shape or form. Not wanting to get on the wrong side of Kane or The Undertaker for that matter, CM Punk explained that it would be nothing more than a friendly word of advice.
This brought out the former ECW Champion and 'La Familia' member Chavo Guerrero. The Mexican Warrior trudged onto the entrance stage with a scowl taking over his face. He informed Kane that he had just got back from General Manager Estrada's office and he has two things to announce right now. Chavo continued and announced that next week on ECW, Chavo Guerrero will get his rematch for the ECW Championship. Secondly, in tonight's main event, the ECW Champion Kane will be going one on one with Mark Henry.

When we returned to ECW on Sci-Fi another video aired. It hyped John Morrison's efforts at Wrestlemania this past Sunday and how he came close on numerous occasions to winning the Money In The Bank Match.

John Morrison complete with other half Miz went one on one with ECW Original Tommy Dreamer next on ECW.
Tommy Dreamer put his body on the line in this match pure ECW style, but in the end John Morrison came out on top. Dreamer used a flurry of punches and kicks, as well as various different Suplexes. Morrison on the other hand was able to out-do Dreamer halfway through the match along with assistance from his WWE Tag Team partner and Champion The Miz. Miz climbed up onto the apron and taunted the ECW Original Dreamer. Allowing Morrison to slam Dreamer down with a Moonlight Drive. Allowing him to keep Dreamer down for the three count.

After the match John Morrison and The Miz celebrated the victory whilst Joey Styles reminded fans that The Miz and John Morrison will be on Smackdown this week when The Miz is in action against Jesse. What's next for Tommy Dreamer though as he seems to have hit a slump in recent weeks on the ECW brand!

World Wrestling Entertainment Presents WWE Backlash. Live Sunday April 27th 2008 from The 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. Wrestlemania is over, but the Backlash has just begun

**COMMERCIALS**

Next was an emotional video package highlighting the effects of Shawn Michaels' match with The Nature Boy Ric Flair this past Sunday at Wrestlemania Twenty-Four. It shows how The Heartbreak Kid was nothing more than a mixed bag of emotions on RAW and how he couldn't stay active on RAW with the fact that Flair will never wrestle again eating away at his mind. It eventually shows how Shawn Michaels left the arena with all of his belongings, leaving the WWE fans in limbo.

Joey Styles and Tazz updated the WWE Universe that Shawn Michaels still hasn't been seen or heard of since last night, and when any information is available it will be posted on WWE.Com.

Big Daddy V is considered the animal of the ECW brand. With his vicious actions each and every week Big Daddy V has become something to fear in the locker rooms. Tonight, with Matt Stryker by his side, Big Daddy V absolutely demolished everyone's favourite red neck Jimmy Wang Yang in under five minutes. Yang could hardly put up a fight. As soon as Big Daddy V entered the ring, he went straight for the red neck and clobbered him with a blow to the temple. Yang eventually bit off more than he could chew. He climbed up to the top turnbuckle and went for a moonsault. However, he was caught in mid air by The Masterdon. Big Daddy V then slammed Wang Yang down with his devastating Slam and hooked his legs for a three count.

Stryker took to the stick after the match and warned everyone in the WWE Universe that Big Daddy V is the most vile creature on this planet, and nobody has what it takes to take him down. With that statement made, it was back to terrorising the ECW locker room backstage.

A video then hyped up this Friday's edition of Smackdown. The new World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker will be making his first appearance as Champion after besting The Rated R Superstar Edge at Wrestlemania Twenty-Four. Also on Smackdown, Mr. Money In The Bank CM Punk will be appearing.

**COMMERCIALS**

As the main event began, Kane and Mark Henry locked up. However Mr. Money In The Bank CM Punk showed up and interrupted proceedings. Punk looked on and informed everyone that he was feeling down. He came back from one of the biggest RAW main events in history, and tonight he still hasn't had a match. Punk then had an idea, a change to the main event. He brought up the idea of a tag team match. ECW Champion Kane teaming up with CM Punk to take on Chavo Guerrero and Mark Henry.
The Mexican Warrior Chavo stood up from his commentating position and told CM Punk that it was a ridiculous idea. Estrada seemed to warm to the idea though as he appeared on the titan-tron. He stated that it sounded like a fantastic main event, so it was booked. Thus earning the fans appreciation which was uncommon for Estrada.

Mark Henry and Chavo Guerrero dominated the match for the most part until Kane caught Chavo off guard with a devastating Chokeslam. Kane, who was not the legal man then went to tend to The Worlds Strongest Man Mark Henry on the outside whilst CM Punk slammed Chavo with the GTS, giving him the one, two three here this evening.

Mr. Money In The Bank CM Punk was certainly on a role, first RAW now ECW, and apparently this Friday he'll be on Smackdown. ECW faded off the air with Mr. Money In The Bank CM Punk and ECW Champion Kane staring at one another with evil intentions. However, both superstars shook hands declaring their unity on the ECW brand. Styles then reminded ECW fans that Kane will defend the ECW Championship next week against Chavo Guerrero in a Wrestlemania Twenty-Four rematch. The episode then faded off the airwaves on a high note.

I think it's a pretty good kick-off for the show with Punk coming out and handing out "advice" to Kane and The Undertaker by reminding them he's Mr. Money In The Bank. Chavo coming out makes sense and putting Kane against Mark Henry is okay. I understand the logic in your booking for this with Henry being eliminated by Kane in the Battle Royal and now Kane has to face The World's Strongest Man. It may not be a great match but it makes sense booking-wise.

It's nice to see Morrison pick up the win. I'm not sure what can be next for Tommy Dreamer in the coming weeks since he's been in such a slump on the ECW brand. Maybe a release? Possibly a tag team partnership with someone?

I like the angle you're doing with Michaels. It can lead in so many directions and with no one seeing or hearing from Michaels for the past 24 hours, it seems like anything can happen with this storyline and I'm looking forward to where it goes.

I think Big Daddy V vs. Jimmy Wang Yang was meh. It did what it was supposed to do and that was to obviously display how much of a monster BDV is. That's all this match really did tbh.

Nice victory for Punk and Kane in the main event. It looks like you're pushing Punk well thus far as Mr. Money In The Bank and I hope it continues.

I really like the way you're booking your shows. Every booking decision is logical and I also like your style of recap. It's easy to follow. Friday Night SmackDown should be a very good show and I'll be checking it out.

The show was alright man, I know alot of people complain about Recaps, but I really don't care.

Big Daddy V/ Yang ... squash, he really didn't seem too strong by beating a guy who's 4 times smaller than him.

I think it's weird that Kane threatens Punk with brother... that's something new. He's the ECW Champ, he shouldn't need to threaten Punk when he can take Punk out himself.. can he?

Morrison/Dreamer was nothing really too new. Glad to see him pick up the win, will this win make conflict with Morrison/Miz and Dreamer? Since Miz, in fact did help Morrison win.

Not suprised that Kane and Punk won, which is good since Kane is the champ, and Punk is MITB.

It's interesting that Punk is appearing on all 3 brands, it's making wonder what belt he'll challenge for.

I didn't catch Raw, but i'll try to catch Smackdown.

Thanks for the reviews guys. Just thought I'd speak on a few things.

First of all I was confused by something you said Dylan. Kane didn't threaten CM Punk with his brother The Undertaker. I don't know where you got that from. All that happened was Punk announced that he would be appearing on Smackdown to remind Undertaker that he's Mr. Money In The Bank. Then Kane told Punk that he knows his brother and he wouldn't appreciate it.

Nothing about Kane threatening CM Punk with his brother.

I'm really glad you're both picking up the fact that CM Punk is being pushed alot, that's something I wanted to make clear. Especially with him showing up on all three shows on the Wrestlemania fallout week.

Finally, Anigma, I'm glad you like the logical booking styles. I like to book realisticly most of the time.

I'm going to have some ECW news, notes and rumours up in the next few days. Cheers.

That line right there, confused me. I thought you were talking about how Undertaker wouldn't take to kindly to Punk threatening to Kane. Thanks for clearing that up though. I guess I misread it.

Vandals Destroy Family Home
Wednesday 2nd April 2008

At 4:03 Wednesday morning, local authorities in San Antonio Texas informed the World Wrestling Entertainment of a wild fire that could have involved one of their top superstars.

At the home of RAW superstar Shawn Michaels, authorities were called up to investigate what has now been confirmed as an 'attack'. As emergency services arrived at the scene, flames had already engulfed the house and it's surroundings.

Police detectives are describing this as 'sickening' and have opened up a full investigation on the situation. Nobody has been linked to the crime as of yet but they hope to uncover some of the clues soon.

It was relieving to hear that Shawn Michaels and his family were not at the premises at the time of the fire, and it's still unknown as to where Shawn is at the present time.

WWE.Com will keep you updated as soon as any new information becomes available.

Interesting.. I wonder why you posted that.. I wouldn't consider it an angle since it is "real" maybe to make your BTB look more realistic? Looking good..

You'd not consider it an angle? Get real, of course it is an angle. Posting that for no reason is not KF's style, and believe me, I know his style. {I'm pretty sure he has one. Right KF?}

Lol, I'd say it's an angle considering the events that unfolded on RAW concerning Shawn Michaels.

I'd be a pretty sick man if it wasn't an angle.

News, Notes And Rumours
Wednesday 2nd April 2008

This past Tuesday's edition of ECW on Sci-Fi received a 1.4 cable rating. The highest rated part of the show was the main event which saw Mr. Money In The Bank CM Punk team up with the ECW Champion Kane to defeat former Champion Chavo Guerrero and The Worlds Strongest Man Mark Henry. The lowest rated part of the show was the match between Big Daddy V and Jimmy Wang Yang.

Kenny Dykstra was scheduled to wrestle a dark match before the ECW TV taping, however he picked up a knee injury moments before. Dykstra is rumoured to be on his way out of the company after only being called up from the developmental roster earlier this week. This is due to the recent economic crisis. Many other WWE superstars will find themselves out of a contract by the weeks end.

Many fans were wondering whether the news of Shawn Michaels' house being set on fire was a work or not. PWInsider can reveal that it is a work. It is the start of a 'big' storyline for Shawn Michaels, and could possibly continue up to Wrestlemania Twenty-Five next year.

Smackdown Title Match Announced For Judgment Day
Wednesday 2nd April 2008

As Wrestlemania Twenty-Four went off the air this past Sunday, the World Wrestling Entertainment went ahead and announced this official match for Judgment Day on the official website.

Matt Hardy vs. (c) Montel Vontavious Porter
For The WWE United States Championship

Ever since July 6th 2007 when Matt Hardy pinned the US Champion MVP, both men have been at each others throats. When MVP retained the United States Championship at The Great American Bash last year, MVP clamied to be better than Hardy at everything. Thus leading to a series of mini-games including a basketball game, an arm wrestling contest and a chess game among others.

MVP went even further and challenged Matt Hardy to a boxing match at Saturday Night's Main Event, but being the coward that he is, MVP opted out at the last minute, forcing Hardy to face his replacement, Champion boxer Evander Holyfield. Holyfield turned on MVP however, when MVP verbally abused him.

As Summerslam came along, MVP challenged Hardy to a beer drinking contest. Hardy decided to give MVP a taste of his own medicine and got Stone Cold Steve Austin to replace him, ending in a Stone Cold Stunner on the United States Champion.

Hardy and MVP then became one of the WWE's weirdest tag teams and ended up holding the WWE Tag Team Championships whilst being fierce enemies. However on one fateful night, the two men dropped the Tag Team Titles, causing MVP to brutally attack Matt Hardy and his injured knee.

Then this past Sunday at Wrestlemania, Matt Hardy returned to the WWE after a near five month absense, costing MVP the Money In The Bank Ladder match in the process, thus re-igniting this monumental feud.

With this United States Championship match announced for Judgment Day, one has to wonder whether Matt Hardy will finally exact revenge and become the US Champion, or whether Montel Vontavious Porter will do what he always does and cower out of the match at the last minute.

Tune into WWE Judgment Day, Sunday May 18th 2008 for this huge United States Championship match, aswell as Friday Night Smackdown, every Friday night on CW.

Smackdown Preview tonight or tomorrow, and Smackdown next week sometime:)

I'm finding it hard to find a substantial amount of time to write lately with college exams and coursework, so that's why I'll be going at a slower pace from now on.

I'm really enjoying booking this though so I decided to post some necessary news tonight which you can read above.

The next post from me will be a Smackdown Preview. I'm hoping to get that done by the end of the week, with Smackdown following next week, or hopefully the weekend. Who knows.

Until then, cheerio:)
