I can see war happening but tbh can't really see a WW3, theres too many new weapons that would be too destructive and the UN plays a big part in it as well imo, they wouldn't allow it to happen, I mean when Britain went into Iraq had to go to the UN, have a vote on whether we could do it or not and we have restrictions on amount of troops we can have in there, it's just too policed and all that now imo.

WWIII = Russia/China vs USA. You don't think other countries will take sides once that shit gets underway? I can only speculate but I have to imagine in the hypothetical scenario that those lines were drawn in the sand that other countries would be involved. You already know Iran would jump at the chance to help them as would a lot of middle eastern countries. Maybe Germany sees some shit hitting the fan and turns heel for old times sake just because they're bored.

China and U.S. won't go to war. Not for the forseeable future anyways. Both sides are heavily invested in one another. Any kind of interuption would cost both countries, badly. They are basically attached at the hip with trade/investments. We are strategic rivals but any kind of move would be like killing half of a simease cat *pun* hehe
Also China's military is in no position to challenge the U.S. Their military prowness pales in comparison to us. We actually have shared interest in the middle east promoting stability and securing oil anyways.
Russia on the other hand, that's a bingo.

Make no mistake that China hates the US. Once China starts to realize that we aren't going to make good on our debts that we owe them, that our dollar is worthless paper and that we are still pressuring middle eastern countries/Iran into doing what we want them to do with their oil.. shit will hit the fan.
It all comes down to if/when more middle eastern countries start to stand up and give the US the finger. Obviously it's not a smart thing to do on the surface because every time it's happened since the end of the Cold War the US has found a way to invade those countries.
