I learned to play mafia somewhere else. And it was like a middle ground between the no claiming and mandatory claiming. Closer to no claiming.

You were never made to claim if you were being wagoned. It was not a requirement to be lynched or not.

So most games I never claimed. HOWEVER if you were being wagoned and a lynch seemed likely and you were the town cop or doctor, you’d then claim to not get lynched. Now at this point scum could counter claim you since no one else has probably claimed.

So it then became a fun game of which person claiming doctor is lying. That was fun unless you were the real one with the role and losing to scum.

why am i being asked to claim and not any of u?

do u see where the problem is? its not about claiming only its about what got town to the point of asking me to claim.

i dont see anything in my play leading to that so in not gna rly claim for no reason. i simply think no lynch is better than this duel.

u say dead town role is worst than claimed role. yea ofc. but a living mysterious town role is better than living claimed role

im not planning to die. ill defend myself as much as i can without claiming. i dont actually see a proper case on me nor a reason why i am being asked to claim other than duellist being trigger happer so yea its not rly something in my control here

It's part of experience with Mafia - being able to read the state of the game rather than just the individual posts. The issue is there is no clear path for you to survive by not claiming, whereas, had you claimed when you were established as a leading wagon, you could have changed that. In essence, you are seeking for an ideal outcome when there is none present. Even outside of Mafia, a tenet of life is acknowledging that some outcomes aren't going to be fair or just, and you have to be able to live with compromising your positions for the greater good. This is what makes your refusal to claim so frustrating for some players."

Honestly because you refused to claim, it might harder to read than most, but usually we can dissect who voted to lynch and based on what reasons. See if there’s buddying, or bussing. That sort of thing.
