Womens Divison Seems To Be Getting More Interesting!

It seems to me that womens wrestling is going back to the way it used to be. This is a touchy subject for alot of fans, the females in particular. We want to see women in the ring kicking ass not showing ass. The last couple years have been tough, what with having to stomach watching the likes of Candice Michelle and Torrie Wilson prancing around the ring.

Womens wrestling will never be as marketable as mens wrestling. Not when what they have been offering up until now can be seen on any other show in bigger doses, and more explicitly. But it seems that some progress is being made. See, I knew there was some logic in that whole " to make it in the future, look to the past " theory.

If Beth is the new Chyna, I guess that would make Melina, Mickie, and Victoria the new Ivory, Jaqueline and Jazz. All we need now is the new Trish and Lita. Theres always going to be bimbos outside the ring, dressed like whores, trying to distract men from the task at hand. There always has been. The mistake the WWE made was to take those tramps away from the outside of the ring, and put them inside. They are mistaking looks for talent.

And it appears from the reaction of alot of the guys here at this forum, that they are not impressed with this. Im sure you guys arent the only ones who feel that way. Im sure that the scantily clad ring hookers will be a thing of the past the same day that Vince quits with the ' big man' thing. Lets not hold our breathe, in other words. I, myself am just pleased by the fact that we are actually getting some women who WRESTLE. Its hard to be 100% judgemental on the tramps turned into wrestlers method, since Trish Stratus also started off as eye candy, and she turned into one of the best womens champs ever. *crosses fingers for the womens division*

Good post jamine. Basically, like you said, you have to have both. 90% of wrestling fans (myself included) want to see good looking women, and thats part of wrestling. But I also enjoy matches from women if they're done properly, which we're seeing lately.
So, fine, some people may not like Kelly's expose or Maria being eye candy, fine, but alot of people do, so it'll remain on tv, which is fine by me. But its also good to now have women like Micki,e Melina, Beth, Natalya, etc who can put on a worthy match as well. Thats why Im happy with how it is now.

I'm not really in2 diva matches TBH but saying that i like whats happening last cpl of weeks with diva matches it improved sum. I don't mind watching Mickie Beth Victoria Melina or more recently Natalya they are pretty good in the ring so that i don't mind. Its when the T&A brigade star prancing around the ring that's what does my head in. But yeah as of last few weeks Ive watched diva's instead of hitting fast forward.

^ Right. WWE has some decent female wrestlers now, but that doesn't change the fact that most of them are still talentless sluts. Until WWE fires ALL of those and replaces them with girls who can wrestle, and tells the girls to ditch the legscissors/hair pulling/muffstuff submissions/etc and replace them all with some serious moves, the Divas simply won't have the credibility they used to have. Besides, like I've said, the very next time one of them decides to take her clothes off for money, this serious angle is going right down the toilet.

Like I said before I rather watch TNA if I wanna see good women's matches that's why I don't care what WWE does with their Divas, I just switch the channel when they have WORTHLESS Divas on. If you wanna have eyecandies have them as managers or something but please don't put them on the ring it shames me to see so much air time be wasted. And no 90% of wrestling fans don't just wanna see eyecandies don't make up stats, then why is Awesome Kong so over? Why is ODB over? Why is Roxxi over? They aren't ugly as hell but they sure aint eyecandies. If I wanted to beat off to pretty women I would go to my porn stash, yes is nice to have pretty girls but at least have them do something, if they suck at wrestling let them be managers if they suck at that fire them or make them do that stupid Kiss Cam crap.
I don't care if they have eyecandies around but for the love of Jesus,God,Ghandi,Mohammad,every single god, don't fuckin push them because they are on Playboy seriously, I liked Trish and Sable and all that but Maria? Christy Hemme? Ashley? Wtf.

I seriously doubt that a 5 minute segment involving some cleavage would cause someone to watch a 2 hour broadcast. There are channels made specifically for that which show a helluva lot more.

There has to be a bit of change in the womans division. I love the matches, but i feel there's something lacking.. maybe lacking good divas or better maches. I dont know

Incidentally.... I just got done re-watching WM19... Trish V Jazz V Victoria for the title... Even beyond that through much of 2004 it was still very much of that era and style of Diva division.....

I know womens wrestling has and probably always will play second fiddle to the men in a MAJOR way, and IMO things recently have been the best they have been a few years, but when exactly did things start to take a nosedive towards the terrible low which was 2006/2007?
