Cody wasn't even defending the belt except the occasional defence against Ezekial Jackson Ted Dibiase and the one time with Booker T as well didn't even defend it against Randy Orton.

Eh Randy's a little above the IC Title now.

Doesn't matter if a champion is in a match at a PPV the title must be on the line unless of course its a tag team match.

No one and I mean NO ONE should be above a title like the IC title considering it's past.

It does have a great history, but I think there's a few exceptions. For me they'd have to be John Cena and Randy Orton, but also any returning big names like The Rock and Brock Lesnar. Guys like Big Show and Rey Mysterio I don't have a problem with having a midcard title run here and there, but not everybody can hold that title.

A thought just came to me then. Once the Cody/Show feud presumably ends at Extreme Rules, do you reckon Big Show's next feud will be Wade Barrett given the way he went out injured? If he is healthy enough to return, a run in at Extreme Rules after the match is over and a beatdown with a chair or singapore cane (dependant on match stipulation) could be a nice way to bring him back.

I wouldn't mind this idea. I think whatever momentum Wade Barrett had going from him towards the World Heavyweight Championship is probably damaged for the time being. Clearly not his fault as it happens when someone gets injured, but it's an option.

Personally I'd prefer him to slot straight back into the upper midcard area and not have the Intercontinental Championship holding him back from the top gold.

What about this - Sheamus vs. Wade Barrett?

Barrett is going to be out until at least June so I'm not sure but it could work.

I don't mind the idea of Show vs. Barrett but I would much prefer Barrett to go after Sheamus. That is a feud for the future and I think that they can both pull it off. If WWE don't want to put Barrett in the mainevent right away after his return then a feud against Show would be a good filler as long as Barrett comes out on top.
