Windows said:On 15th March 2013 we are retiring the existing Messenger service globally (except for mainland China where Messenger will continue to be available) and bringing the great features of Messenger and Skype together. Update to Skype and sign in using a Microsoft Account (same as your Messenger ID) and all your Messenger contacts will be at your fingertips. You’ll be able to instant message and video chat with them just like before, and also discover new ways of staying in touch with Skype on your mobile and tablet. Update Now!
End of an era with MSN closing down. It is nowhere near as popular as it used to be but it was huge at it's peak before all these other social media sites became huge. It is still a reasonably popular service but Windows clearly want to get some return on their purchase of Skype so forcing everyone to use it is a smart move for them.
I haven't used it for quite some time but I used to use it a lot in high school. The best use for it was when I would play online poker. I would have MSN open and in it I would be chatting to my best mate. Then I would have online poker loaded and my mate and I would play on the same table. Then on MSN we would share what cards we had so that we each knew two more cards on the table to give us a slight edge. Worked so well for so long.
Anyone still use MSN? Anyone used to use it a lot?
