Sam Stosur choked in the first round again losing in straight sets to someone ranked in the 200's. Shame that she can't seem to get it together on grass, really odd that her best surface is by far clay.

In other Australian news Tomic beat Davydenko in straight sets! Tomic is only 18 and fingers crossed he can become a successful tennis player for Australia unlike so many others that were meant to be the next big thing after Hewitt. Tomic plays Igor Andreev in the second round so I will give Tomic a good chance of winning that. Hewitt won his first round match but has to play Soderling next.

Good on Rezai pushing Serena to three sets in her match.

Federer, Djokovic, Roddick, Sharapova, Wozniacki and Na all had straight set wins to start their campaigns.

Tonight Nadal and Murray play their second round matches.

Just turned on it is in the final set, and sounds a very good match, anyway I am taking a look at Berdych and Benneteau now, and might catch a little of Heather Watson later on also.

The Williams sisters are being tested this tournament and both look underdone. Venus managed to hold on yesterday 8-6 in the third and tonight Serena had to come from a set down to win in three. If their opponents make them run early they should be able to get ahead as both are taking a long time to find form in games.

Djokovic cruised through his match tonight in straight sets.

Hewitt is playing Soderling at the moment and is leading 7-6, 6-3, 5-7, 3-3. Surprised that Hewitt is doing so well against the fifth seed.

Tomic's match isn't until later so I might miss it.

Soderling is fighting back winning the fourth 6-4. Hewitt in recent years hasn't been great under pressure so he will struggle to hold on for the win.

Tomic's match was suspended last night due to the weather. He was down two sets to one and his match restarts once Bartoli vs. Dominguez Lino finishes and that is currently one set each.

Laura Robson is playing Sharapova currently and is leading 4-1. Sharapova is grunting like anything and it is ridiculous that players aren't punished for grunting. Have a decibel meter on the court and anything over a certain level should lead to a punishment. At the end of the fifth set I can understand players grunting a bit because they are tired but in a three setter there is no need. If I was playing a grunter I would start screaming when I hit the ball, they would complain but I would continue until they were forced to stop.

Wozniacki won her match earlier tonight 6-1 6-3.

Sharapova finished that match 7-6 6-3.

Lopez just beat Roddick in straight sets.

Tomic just won the fourth set to make it 2-2 and he is a break up in the fifth set.

Tomic won the fifth set 6-1 to win the match. In the third round he faces Soderling. Huge win for the 18 year old and hopefully he can at least be competitive against Soderling.

Tomic beat Soderling and he did it in straight sets! Amazing for an 18 year old to get into the second week. He faces Malisse in the round of 16 so he has a chance there, whatever happens it is a great result for him.

The top four men are all in action tonight as are the Williams sister and Maria Sharapova who is in really good form this tournament.

The match of the tournment so far would have to be Heather Watson VS. Mathilde Johansson. Watson showed great guts to battle on though injury, and produced a fine performance, and because her opperent failed to take adventege of Watson's weakness, it kept the game intertesting and made it very unpredictable. I think Watson has a bi future, as does Laura Robson who also made a strong showing this year, and is likely to improve.

Sharapova has just gone one set up against Peng. Andy Murray is just starting on centre court.

:D Tomic won in straight sets and moves on to the quarter finals.

Bartoli is currently playing Serena Williams and is winning 4-2 in the first. Go Bartoli!

Murray is one set up against Gasquet in what has been a cracking match of Tennis so far! He is 5-3 up in the second set also.
